Domes are fine if you have nearby surfaces that can be used to bounce light. For outdoor use or larger venues with high ceilings and distant walls, Rogue's Flashbender would probably be a more efficient option.
I found I got basically the same results with the Godox $10.00 diffuser for round flash heads. Having said that, I love the adapters that came with the ML-CD15.
if you're talking about the little AK-R11 dome diffuser, there isn't any way in hell that you're getting the same quality of light as this ML-CD15. This will be softer and more diffuse by a mile.
Great video, as usual, definitely enjoyed this one. Quick question, at the end, you said you primarily use the ML-CD15 for short shoots and the Gary Fong Diffuser for longer shorts? Why is that so and what are the differences between both diffusers?
The reason is because as I demonstrated, the MLCD15 tends to droop down as it's a bit too heavy. So I have to use one hand to hold it up when shooting vertical shots. For short shoots it's not a big deal, for long shoots, i don't wanna hold it up. lol. Quality wise they both do a great job. I've had the Gary fong for years, so that's why I still use it. But if you're just buying one, I say get the godox.
Yeah, I have the Godox, was just making sure I didn't miss nothing lol..I rock with your content, made a few purchases on your suggestion, keep doing your thing 💪🏿💯
What do you mean you can't shoot landscape with it? You can shoot with it facing up in landscape and vertical orientation just fine. If you have it facing directly at your subject like he does in this video then the weight becomes a problem when you tilt your camera. But why would you do that when you can face it upwards with basically the same quality of light and do both horizontal and vertical orientation just fine?
@@jasonbodden8816 You dont alway want your speedlite pointing directly up at the ceiling or straight on at the talent. Sometimes you want it inbetween for better bounce etc, or even backwards a little. Its too heavy to be able to do this though and drops down.
