I understand that the initial speeds are good for the first ssk usb used but reviews have said that speed falls off as it heats. What is your experience recording videos for a while do you see any falls in performances or is the USB able to sustain itself
@lite6384 Thanks for your comment. My personal experience is that it does get hot but i have not found a reduction in speeds which i was actually expecting because almost all flash drives slow down abit when hot. I wanted to check for you so i just did a one hour nonstop blackmagic disk speed test slamming it for one hour nonstop and the read and write are still both showing above 400MB/s which is sufficient for even 8K 24p prores hq.

Hi there. I just got a 15 pro max and using a fast small usb flash would be better than attaching a Samsung T7 SSD but the write speed of the SSD is guaranteed. This SSK looks good but reviewers say write speeds can drop to 100 MB/s which is not fast enough for Pro res HQ. Whats ur experience?
Hi Erick, Congratulations on the new phone. I would love to see the review you are mentioning if possible and it is ok with you. My personal experience with 3 different sets of this SSK product has been it seems to sustain at least 450MB/s which is sufficient in my personal tests, but i have not recorded for many hours nonstop on end continuously as I haven’t needed to in 60fps. In the video i give some alternatives that might work better , if that is needed. I will try and run a longer test on Blackmagic disk speed test again and see if any issues.
Just following up on my reply Erick,, other reviewers may be talking about the blue Samsung thumbdrive or micro sd cards etc all of which I tried and failed because below 100MB/s but this SSK product is different and the only exception I found that actually works. that's why I made the video. I just did a 20 minute nonstop torture test on the SSK on the Blackmagic disk speed test and it sustained the same speeds above 432Mb/s read and 805MB/s write. Ok to record up to 8K 24fps at those speeds per Blackmagic.
@@Techno_Ramahi there! Thank u so much for testing this flash drive. This could be the real deal! That samsung blue flash drive is not fast enough for some flavours of pro res. My 15 pro max is only the 256 gb version so i will record prores videos externally. The Samsung T7 SSD is fast but not the usb thumb drive. The SKK drive is something else it seems based on your tests. It would be easier to attach to the phone-for B roll-not main camera. Which model did u test exactly pls? So i can follow a link to amazon. Thanks

@@Techno_Rama hey there...thanks for the link...hmm...this one has a regular USB connector but also comes with a USB-C adapter...here in Canada is not the same adapter you show in the video-the U shaped adapter but a regular adapter which makes the whole thing too long. I wonder is there anything that comes with a USB C already? I don' want to use adapters...that would make it too long. The other one you show that has a USB C at one end and a regular USB at the other is ok but also kind of long I think. Is the write and read speed the same as the one on the link you sent me? I guess these USBs are a couple of years old and I guess USB-C wasn't the main connector. I also agree with you that t's good to get the straight facts about products. Some "reviewers"seem to ignore some important details such as write speed etc when those are the important facts when it comes to video. Thanks!
obviously a camera has its pros and cons as any form of shooting...this is specifically for those who have an iphone 15 pro max or pro because alot of people who purchased one wanted the portability of the pro res quality, but were tricked by apple where they didnt mention youd have to jump trhough flame hoops to make that shit work...but duh a camera is a camera. . . but you dont carry that everywhere. . .
