Its a shame Disney chose to screw over customers so badly on this. By making only 3000 and with their abysmal queue system, most of these will end up in the hands of scalpers and genuine collectors will have to pay through their nose to acquire one.
Given that there are only 3000, I'm sure there are more than 3000 diehard sw fans who remembered this ride fondly who would want one. I sadly caved and paid 950 on ebay. A lot of us didn't even know this was released and announced. Not everyone follows the D23 news closely. So the number who bought and are scalping may not even be as large as you think since there were only 3000 made! I do wonder if they will reissue it. Did they ever reissue the starspeeder 1000? That's not on store shelves and would make much more sense for Disney to keep it in stock. The starspeeder 1000 are selling for 800-1000 bucks as well and has been for awhile.
Why oh why does Disney not make more merchandise like this that are specific to parks/attractions? If they made more of these for other rides I fear I might actually go bankrupt.
i can't for the life of me understand why they never made a Tower of Terror figure until a few years ago that Funko made. I think the closest they made was a christmas ornament in the shape of Tower, but even then, that's more recent. The Funko Tower is a faithful recreation (as faithful as a Funko Pop can be) of the building. It might be too obscure, but doing a Body Wars release like this would be great, hah
Check the elastic seat belts for mold, noticed it on mine and see it in your video, white fuzzy spots along the elastic, figure they should have put a silica gel packet in there.
How many inches long is it out of the box? I have one coming I was able to order, but don't recall seeing dimensions. I am hoping it will fit on the three foot wide shelf I have cleared for it. Thank you for showing how the power cords work too. The ability to just show a star field is wonderful too. I sure do think Hasbro could learn a lesson for the HasLabs when it comes to giving a carded and loose figure. Genius! I thought I saw in their promotional video the lights on the base sort of twinkling or flashing in a pattern. Maybe I imagined that? Thank you for showing the ship. I can't wait until mine arrives. I hope it fits on my shelf. :)
I got a piece of shipping tape (the clear kind) and kept sticking it to the base over and over where the sticker gunk was. But I was careful because I didn't want to take off the paint on the Star Tours logo. It was kind of a pain. I didn't use Goo Gone, which I would normally do in a situation like that, because I was worried it would leave a resedu.
Needs a few servos for motion. One forward for pitch and two aft for roll. Use a Raspberry pi for full video and an Arduino for real-time programming and playback of the show profile.
I didn't know about this vehicle before seeing this video and i'm blown away by it. To me it looks more like a Star Fleet Shuttle than a Star Wars Vehicle but i think the doors detract from the over all look. Saying that, it is still jaw droppingly good. The screen inside the vehicle is a bonus and the light up features are fantastic. Thanks for posting, i enjoyed the preview.
Still never been to galaxys edge. And the toys never sell out. I could care less about the new star wars land. Star tours will always be my favorite ride
First and also this is amazing but the only thing that bothers me a little is why they didn't make the modern one like today but I guess it's just a blast to the past."LIGHT SPEED TO ENDOR"
Wow! When I saw a few screenshot I thought it was just a medium sized figure. No way it was worth $300. But that is incredible. Not only is it huge and detailed, but plays the ride film lights up synchronized to the film and plays the boarding sound when you open the doors. Mind blown. I’m shocked it “only” cost $300.
Disney Parks sells MUCH less desirable high end (high priced) collectibles in their parks. This is one that I would actually pay that kind of price for. I set my alarm to get it, and I was three minutes late logging on and there were 60,000 people in the queue in front of me. So I didn't get one. They should really make more of these. They will sell. I have the original red version, but I REALLY love all the bells and whistles this one has.
I was one of those people! They should have told people you had to get into a virtual line BEFORE the supposed 8am drop. I figured getting on my computer at 7.50am would be enough time to get the site pulled up and refresh-ready to go.....boy was i shocked when i saw there was already a virtual queue and i was in the thousands in the line. And naturally, a lot of those went to eBay right away. BUT, they just did a drop for the gift shop in Hollywood Studios yesterday and I was able to get one. Unclear if they still have any today.
@@wookieesasquatch There hasn't been an seperate release (i wonder if that "3000" number was just kayfabe to draw interest). BUT, if they were to ever do a cheaper variation, I'd imagine it would be like the smaller, but still large, Starspeeder 1000 vehicle (no LCD display, no seperate figure, etc)
that screen OK that is COOL I was wondering if it dose work. I was thinking make it fake dose nothing to keep the cost down. putting a working screen can cost a EXTRA $1000.00 I know where they got the idea from simply stolen the idea off STAR TREK the ORIGINAL CLASSIC SERIES get a BIG SCREEN from ENTERPRISE NCC-1701 and put it in your STAR WARS SHUTTLE this kind of stolen ideas and get away with it happened a lot in JAPAN for JAPANESE ANIME
