Hawthorne is changing. There’s an urth caffe now. I think you have to be very cautious about where though. I would say del aire and holly glen are the best. Other areas are Ramona burleigh and bodger park. The hawthorne unified schools are not great. Hawthorne high isn’t either.

I lived in Hawthorne years ago, on Ramona Hill. One day a realtor was giving a potential buyer a tour of a home for sale across the street. She told the buyer that this area belonged to the Wiseburn school district, which was a flat-out lie.

I lived in West Los Angeles for more than 10 years Hawthorne is garbage It’s where you live if you cannot afford to live in west Los Angeles

hawthorne is actually really ghetto and has a lot of gang issues and only small parts of it are really nice with big houses

When is the last time you were there? It's changed a lot and there are now many parts that are getting nicer as long as you know where to look.

Shira Adatto i partly lived there up until 7th grade but i still go over a lot. hawthorne getting nicer but theirs only two parts of it that are really nice. it still has very active gangs

I agree with you, even though SpaceX makes Hawthorne interesting and attractive. It's a dangerous city, with a recent tragic incident that happen in a neighbors house of my relatives. I agree that Hawthorne is changing and has a posibility to become a good city. But, I don't see that city as a good city and by any means their schools are well rated. Mainly because they don't have prestigue. Also, Hawthorne doesn't have a unified school distric. Which, from my understanding when there are a lot of charter schols means that the school district may not be a good district. I hope that city develop into the future.

Alejandro 9 most cities in the LA area don’t have their own school district but instead all join up with the surrounding cities to create a unified district which is what Hawthorne does. Centinela Valley Union High School District serves Hawthorne and unfortunately the really are not a great school district.

Do you still think hawthrone is a good place to buy in la with all these crazy prices? Saw a 2/1 house 1400 sqft for over $900k...

Depends on where in Hawthorne. If you got money you probably going to want to move to Holly glen or Del Aire or the parts closet to surrounding beach cities. Just like basically every city in southern Cali not every part is the same and safe. And with the gentrification of Inglewood that’s been happening a lot more blacks having been moving to Hawthorne. We already have a huge Hispanic population and a growing Ethiopian and middle eastern community. I love my city! So if you racist go somewhere else like El Segundo you will feel more welcomed.

This is actual facts!!! Finally someone in this comment section that actually knows what it’s like to live in Hawthorne. This lady is making its seem like this great little small town with nice homes. When that’s not what it’s like. She’s like giving the most gentrified version of Hawthorne. Probably gonna get a lot of racist yts that wanna move to Hawthorne after seeing this vid, when really they have no idea what they’re in for.

This is such a joke😂. I was born and raised in Hawthorne. Everything she is saying is so wrong. Please stop the 🧢 . I love Hawthorne but what she is saying is such bs. It’s is not one of the nicest places to live, that’s why it is so much cheaper than the surrounding communities. Also “Hawthorne has a small town feel”, wtf are you talking about Hawthorne doesn’t feel like a small town at ALL. It’s literally just shitty LA sprawl. Have you ever been to a small town?😂😂

Also the school district that you showed is not real the Hawthorne school district. Hawthorne unified serves the vast majority of Hawthorne residents. Washburn only serves the small percentage of Hawthorne residents who live west of the 405. Which also just happens to be the area of Hawthorne with the most expensive homes. I’m not telling y’all not to move to Hawthorne. But please do not take her advice on what Hawthorne is like.
