Best Summer Fragrance Review - Virgin Island Water by Creed - All Time Classic

This fragrance gives me instant relaxation and uplifting holiday feeling. It's reserved for hot summer weekends and evenings and tropical holidays.

Once again spritz Creed Virgin Island Water on at my local Neiman Marcus shopping 2/16/22 and this time the longevity was unbelievably long lasting and truly adored it like no other time. It was a brand new bottle so it has me thinking is this a newer version and they have finally amped it up a bit? I believe Creed has because it is a huge difference in potency. Prior it never worked on me so am going to swing for the fences and purchase the decant size.

Creed frangrances have this sparkle in the opening to me which all the clones miss to me.

Do you have an opinion on Parfums Vintage Isla Tropical (+Privé) compared to Virgin Island Water? I purchased two decants from Parfums Vintage but I am indecisive on whether they are a good alternative to Creed and worth the price

Nice Video as always.👍 Usually i buy original Creed frags but after your review i decided to try gorse. I find it to be really nice too. But the opening of VIW is hard to beat.

Great review. Certainly not the only coconut & lime out there, but probably the best. Really is like a Caribbean sunset.

Great review Dan! This is one of the fragrances I really want to get in my collection one day. I have Alexandria's version, but I always like to buy the original if I really fall in love with a fragrance. There is always something missing from the clones, if that makes sense.

Nice review! Which has better performance for you? Gorse or VIW?

I went out of my way to smell the Gorse on Dartmoor in May. It does smell just like coconut and to see the fresh gorse on the hills was sublime. VIW found it very weak for the money, the lime is gone within minutes.

I like to layer VIW with Mandarino di Amalfi on a hot day - gives it a bit of edge I think.

I would only disagree that it's for warm weather but not cold. Coconut old style sun tan lotion fragrance just doesn't work when your cold. Love it

Just buy radiant edt if you want a cheap alternative , I only paid £7 for 100ml on sale .it's a long lasting citrus and coconut fragrance.

I have loved VIW since I first smelled it. It is certainly summer. It is also better than its dupes. I have both Gorse and Alexandria. I like them both but like most Creeds, the copies don't match the real thing. I have 2 bottles of VIW and would like more.

Never smelt the original. Just have cheap clones. On saying that, they've all been good - some great. Best in high heat in the UK. Which isn't very often LOL. Love the lime/coconut vibe. So simple, yet so good. Thanks Dan.

Great video, VIW was a big hit in pre-Aventus era. I have both now, Gorse and VIW. I agree it is the closest clone but I still prefer the Creed: VIW is much better made fragrance and, like you, I do not understand people complaining about its performance. My 2011 and 2018 bottles are very close (I prefer 2018 as top notes are fresher in it) and last a while (for summer scent). Gorse lasts a little longer but projects the same and is not as refined, if you dig your nose into it. I understand if you are on the budget, you will try to convince yourself that Gorse is a better deal but it is only so financially. :)

I like it very much maybe because I have very good memories with it ( my wife saying that I smell like car air freshener:) ! The only thing I’ve notice with Creed perfumes and i would like your opinion is that All of them if you spray a bit more can be cloying ... I still remember first time I tried MI after 30minutes I was ready to barf ... anyways Great one from Creed ! Good review as always !

Alexandria Hawaii Volcano is identical to VIW to my nose, maybe one day I'll grab a bottle of VIW just to say I have it, but for now the clone works.

Of the few samples I've had from Creed i really haven't been impressed at all - Green Irish Tweed just smelt of wet grass for me - but I'll admit I've not tried this particular one, but going by the others and the ridiculous cost of a bottle I'll give it wide swerve i think

Just got my bottle today and I'm in about hour 3 of wearing it with 8 sprays, 4 of them on clothes. I would say pretty poor performer, but I do catch light wafts of it still. But it is a light scent, like scented water. Not the acceptable performer Mr. Smelly attributes to it, for me. I'm a Creed bottle collector though so I'm happy, and more cash poor, to have it. I'll probably just end up buying the Dua clone, Caribbean Waters, to wear on more normal everyday occassions and save the Creed VIW for special summer occasions (4th of July dinner?) and spraying 12 times. I did that with my Creed Viking, with which I also have poor performance issues. Scarlet Warrior. What I don't understand is why my other freshies- original Aqua di Gio, CK One, Polo Blue, even Creed EROLFA, perform better than VIW. Come on Creed. Why does my Dior Eau Sauvage (1966 EDT version) perform marvelously with its heavy effervescent citrus, but Creed couldn't do that with VIW?

The only Creed I wouldn't want to be without, take the rest I wouldn't care, but leave me my VIW.

Buy Gorse if you can't afford this. It's a great copy.
