Hell yeah little buddy. Nice ride got 88-1/2 square dash. Pretty good shape.does have some rust little body rust rockers, back corner one fender flare bolts up pretty much all easily repaired if it warms up. Got a Hobart 140 that will blow smoke to patch it up. And I'm welder fabricator mechanic since 10 doing the gocarts motorcycle pops miner of the coal. And i had to learn quick fix it or no riding till weekend he midnights mostly and i was tired waiting for Saturday especially when broke um on Monday or Tuesday. Ouch been doing since then I'm 50 now. If could find time and weather cooperates going probably building rock sliders cut rockers out well what they call rocker i call hang down or a that's in the way part. I'm running just good my tire new 50 miles on them 30 of that dirt. Thunder trec or something.thundrr got side tread wow. Only 235/75/15 just got grease able bolts shackle lift keep from rubbing. Might do a soa idk want a locker for sure but I'm not going weld it almost did change mind had jack up tires of caliper off back out want be able to unlock it know unlock hubs yeah just not me no more believe me had cars truck 4-wheeler welded up. You're doing great on your Samurai but I think you need to come over and see what I had and then do what I did with upgrades on Samurai. You need to use Isuzu Rodeo rear leaf spring both front & rear upgrade both axle to FJ80 full float on rear and FJ60 up front then lower gear to 5.29:1. The engine you need a Sidekick 1.6L 8v, no carburetor, use only a 90-95 original Samurai EFI and install sidekick 4WD tranny cut off the 4wd chain housing then patch with aluminum plate then use 4.24:1 t-case gear and connect to a Samurai T-case 6.5:1 2nd transfer case. Lift the body 3" use a four runner steering gear box and add a Prius EPS to turn a 37"-40"+ tires. I had tons of more upgrades on my 93 EFI Samurai come see and share experiences on upgrading an unstoppable Samurai, etc. Hope this help you. Thanks
I did Toyota axle swap on my samurai, they only downside that I can think of is reduced turning radius, at least on my setup with sidekick steering box. I also recommend using double cardan front and rear, it really help with drive shaft angle, got mines from tom woods(it will require clocking the hubs to fix the caster, not as hard as it seem if you got a welder and angle finder). Other than that, the brake upgrade is fantastic, the stock samurai brake master and booster work just fine, really tight pedal. If you have a samurai with the rear proportioning valve, do not delete it, just make new brake line from it that goes to both rear wheels separately, otherwise it can lock the rear wheel before the front one in hard breaking scenario. Samurai parking brake cable also fit just fine on yota axles.
No wonder my back brakes would lock up first. That caused my back end to try to pass me going down steep hills. Scary crap!!!!!!!! Thanks for the tip. I'll do that next build. Got the axles and Sammi already to do it to. For the 4th time.
I was guessing the standard lift, tires, and lockers. Nice to see something different! Please match the volume level of the talking and music though. Damn near blew my eardrums out.
