It's stupid they don't even go off of any tests they just read what's on the bottle for powerpoints and I'm pretty sure from best to worst was rated on how much money whoever made this video gets off of each one
Honestly royal purple is really good been using castrol edge and Mobil for long time noticed when I hit the gas the oil temps hits a little high then hit normal temps basically going up down but the royal purple feels like it keeps the engine temps cool if you accelerate the engine temps doesn’t even go up it’s crazy
I tried Royal purple and it made my engine knock from what sounded like the bottom end. Only until I switched the oil did it stop. Went to pennzoil and she is quiet now. 2011 f150 5.0 200k
@@tricolor112010 I should update. I was curious so I switched to valvoline restore and protect. Within two days knock knock knock came back....a knockin. I thought for a second it was maybe a lifter tick caused by gunk being moved by the cleaning oil, so I ran some bg engine restore(idle cleaner) then changed the oil, threw in Wal-Mart high mileage full synthetic as a short run cleaner to remove the bg cleaner product. The knock nearly went away. Ended up deciding with the june/july heat to go with Mobil 1 high mileage full synthetic 10w40. Engine loves the oil but still had a slight knock at hot idle at times Threw in motorkote at 3oz to a qt oil and she got real quiet. But Still a very occasional knock at hot idle albeit much quieter than when it started with the valvoline. My idea is this, it always had a slight knock at hot idle during the hottest months. The new knock brought on by the valvoline which was constant with that oil, seemed to be resolved by switching to a different oil. I am probably bleeding off oil pressure somewhere in my old engine surprise. Bymut that valvoline oil did clean well, but had very subpar protection. The Wal-Mart oil outperformed the valvoline, and the Mobil 1 is outperforming the walmart. When the temps drop, I'm goinng back to Pennzoil ultra platinum 5w30 for the winter. Side notes: Lucas oil stabilizer did not help when put in just before changing out the valvoline. That was only 1qt into 7.5 though. Motorkote works. Has shown me mpg gains in every car I have used in. Smoother and more quiet engines with it too. 10w40 Mobil is great for old engines like mine in hot months even when they Call for 5w20. Even with the vvt system. Pennzoil is the last check. If the knock is still the usual hot idle knock on a hot day, I know it was the valvoline. I am confident the Pennzoil will outperform everyone as it has in the past. As for the royal purple, I used 5w30 hmx and it knocked immediately and constant. I ran it a short while, and changed it with more of the same oil with the same knock. I ran that for two days, changed to Pennzoil and bam, first start and every after that the engine was quiet (aside for the two hot months as usual). The engine hates royal purple and valvoline. Weird but I am having fun testing with the old girl.
I would probably go with the Royal purple HPS 5W-30, or the Valvoline extended protection or they’re all new restore formula for Pennzoil ultra platinum
How does the Purple oil protect your catalytic convertor? Unless it is a totally worn out junk engine, the oil would never come in contact with the cat.
What does "fully" mean in fully synthetic. Typically means hydrocracked base III refined crude. Very little true synthetic with grade IV or V bases. BTW, this video is just marketing tripe. No technical information.
when he wrote the mobile 1 oil on screen, the pic was showing valvoline so ik he has no clue wat he talkin bout. plus it was all repetitive info. just said it a different way
No scientific basis. OTOH, I run Amsoil. They claim the oil is good for up to 25,000 miles. I'm sure that is with all highway driving. I ran it 18,500 miles in my Highlander. I then drained the oil and sent a sample to Blackstone Laboratories. The report said the oil was good for more miles and had minimal amounts of metal meaning that very little wear was taking place in the engine.
Is this an ad or actual comparison? How the heck does Amazon basic get rated in front of Pennz and Purple? I suspect Amazon Basic is same as Supertech and Costco.
...AND who is rating these? based on what? Not saying they aren't good oils , I used almost all of them with amazing results , but you can't compare 0W-20 to a 10W-30 and say this is 2nd place and this is 4th..I call this BS,maybe some sponsors involved here???
Wrong. The Magnuson-Moss law prohibits manufactures from voiding warranties as long as the oil is warranted for 10K, 20K etc. I run AMSOIL Signature Series which is warranted for 25,000 miles or 1 year & change my oil & filter once each year. Do some research before posting your comments!

Where are the specs, where are the lab tests? The video is pointless. Half of these oils are made with hydrocracking... It's not synthetic oil, it's semi-synthetic one...
Amazon basics does not have synthetic base oil. And in no way is it better than Valvoline & Pennzoil. It’s comical you show Liqui Moly when it’s not on this bs list. Where’s the testing numbers that support your conclusions?
