One of the best songs ever written in my opinion and Gladys delivers it perfectly. Can't help welling up when I here it. 😢😊. If you've ever been in love this resonates with the core of your being!
I've had my share of life's ups and downs, but fates been kind and the down have been few. I guess you can say I've been lucky... I've lived a good life thus far... I can't complain. The hard times is where I've grown the most. When the real joy came I most certainly knew it. ✨️ Beautiful song ❤ Happy Friday 🥳 Thank you for sharing! 💖
When you're a teenager you tend to take things for granted. Then as you mature a little more you realise that the good stuff is happening and you start to take notice. I recently turned 62 and I'm watching these videos and I am still of the opinion that the 1970s were a fantastic time to be alive. Also, I still say, if there is a more naturally beautiful woman than Gladys Knight, then I have yet to see her,
i'm a heavy metal fan but i've always liked gladys knight, who deserved much more recognition than she got!! this song & 'the way we were' are my 2 favourite songs by her but i thought she sang the bond song, 'licence to kill' brilliantly as well!!
Gladys was one of my father’s favorite singers… He died in 2021 from Covid… I played this song at his funeral… You’re the best thing that ever happened to me… I miss you so much daddy 😢❤
For years, I've had this performance bookmarked on another YT channel, albeit of really bad video quality. It's great to finally see this in its original clarity.
Canta com a alma, simplesmente maravilhoso...❤❤❤❤❤ Amo demais... Eu nem era nascido ainda, mas música boa se aprende com o tempo. Uma música que toca na alma....perfeita.
i've always considered the message of this song to be one of the most incredible things you could say to another human... and gladys knight is the perfect singer for this sentiment...!!!!
My my my! Compared to the extreme crap played from the overhead at grocery stores, this is liquid gold! The Pips support her so well. I think I like Gladys better than Diana. Midnight Train to Georgia is my fav. When I look at this retro great music and Gladys' smile and calm, I see that these beautiful people didn't let peripheral prejudice even come close to affect them. Racism is so overrated. We need to let the light of God shine brilliantly in us, and people will be bowled over, their hearts warmed, changed.
Yes, Gladys Knight is a good singer. But really this is a great song written by Jim Weatherly, and the production is top notch on the record and live here on the midnight special. Also don't slouch on the pips either.
