The eponymous harbor in Marina Del Rey began as an estuary frequented by local duck hunters and fishermen, but in 1965 it became the country's largest man-made, small-craft harbor. Since then, the community that surrounds this bustling harbor has seen a great deal of growth.
The area is popular with kayakers, paddleboarders, and yacht owners. In town, you'll find numerous shops, boutiques, and galleries.
