The easiest way to explain is if He walks towards You and You stretch Your had out to touch Him under His chin , You first feel his two top fangs on both sides of Your palm , It is a very memorable moment ! You never forget that and You are stunned as You realize it.
It’s not just because it sounds terrifying I think. Tiger roars are extremely low-frequency, so much so that they are inaudible, and low-frequency noises apparently trigger extreme fear in humans.

Crazy to think that someday probably not too far away tigers and lions will no longer exist and the new generation of people will find it unbelievable that creatures like that actually existed alongside humans. Majestic yet terrifying animals. I hope we can keep them around for a while

Lions growl too, it's not like only tigers can I guess it is harder to make a lion growl, they usually prefer solving their problems with actions rather than words XD

I went on a safari today and though I didn't see it, we heard a barking deer barking at the top of its lungs until it didn't. I am in a camp in the same tiger reserve as well.
