I don’t own any luxury small leather goods. Good leather pieces work just as well. They are inside your bag any way. I would rather spend the money on a bag.
I actually started my luxury collection with fine jewelry, scarves, shoes years ago and just recently started purchasing designer handbags. I feel completely happy with my jewelry collection now and decided that it’s time for some bags. So I did it in reverse!
Hi Eileen. Excellent advice! I’m currently in the process of downsizing my wardrobe to only what is practical for my lifestyle and being extremely mindful about only adding good quality pieces that I will wear on an everyday basis. I regret purchasing so many designer stiletto heels which I don’t wear often and not purchasing the Valentino rockstud flats when I could afford them because I could wear them to work and casually. Lesson learned!
Great as always love it. My birthday is coming up soon I needed this reminder to stay on track 😂. Been budgeting really well and my hands are itching to spend No no no.
Eileen, you have and Amazing Minimalist Collection that Makes Sense. I will NEVER forget hearing the tip... Sticking with MY Color Pallet, later realizing there REALLY is a Theme in my closet & realizing I can part with even MORE things. I appreciate you SO MUCH!💯💕🌼🏵🌼
Love 💕 this video! I agree with all of your suggestions, l downsized my closet a few years ago and it’s a wonderful feeling to see everything l have, and always be able to find something to wear! I love being organized and my closet is now aesthetically pleasing to look at. Thanks for sharing.😊
Thank you so much for sharing! I really appreciate my viewers taking time to share their downsizing story, it's a liberating experience more people need to know about xx
honestly ty for all of your wise words. the world really needs to understand this amongst all the channels that are just based on hauls. it really sets an unrealistic way of living and it's honestly tiring always never being satisfied!
I want to downsize my wardrobe and keep only the pieces I love. I just feel bad that I spent so much money on my clothes and shoes. I’m having a hard time letting go. I need to let go of my guilt and accept the financial loss. BTW I love your vlogs. Keep them coming. Thank you!
Sell them and use the money to reinvest either your closet, jewelry, handbags, investments. Even if it’s a loss at least your money will be where you want it to be. I sold a lot of stuff last year and now this. I reinvested in 4 handbags I love, a better wardrobe that suits me and some exercise equipment.
I am happy I found your channel, and such kind of videos inpired me to current my collection. I get some money back from selling not using lux bags, I gave clothes for charity. Amazing channel♡
Great video! You have such a good way of getting the point out and encouraging those of us looking for a better way then to keep buying things we don’t need & don’t use. You explained so well how to really cull our pieces and then tie them together based on what works for us (& easy ways to identify our needs). Thank you for taking the time to make these. So helpful!
You are right about the super tiny Chanel bags. I have one that cannot fit my phone and I am wondering what made me buy it. I still love it but it is not really practicable
Would love to see a few recommendations on causal quality clothing that can go into the washing machine. Love cashmere and silk but I can’t see myself wearing that everyday, the upkeep would be too much. This summer I bought a few linen button down shirts that I love and they can go in the wash and line dry. Thanks for your great content, Eileen! 😘
Yes, Eileen to have a balance from each department is what i am going for. I want not just handbags but other pieces that can make me put together. Also at times, not all handbags are suitable for any occasions so instead of just going for handbags, i love to have a balance wardrobe although i still love handbags. Yeah do share with us all your collection. Love to watch that.
Thanks to you, I have figured out what luxury pieces would work for my lifestyle and still be stylish in 5,10, 15 years from now. In the past, I just wanted to purchase everything I thought was pretty, even though I truthfully didn't have the budget for it. After finding your channel, I sat down and figured out exactly what I wanted and made sure it will work for me. Now, I only save money to purchase these few pieces. I only have 4 handbags on my wish list. One Chanel Card holder on my list. 3 fine jewelry pieces on my list and one pair of designer shoes on my wish list. Thank you darling. ❤
We wear 20% of our wardrobe 80% of the time. I had to give up my bedroom/ storage earlier this year as all my children moved home due to relationship breakup and illness. I have one book case and a small clothes rail and am sleeping in my living room. I got rid of loads of stuff and even with the very few things I have left, I probably only wear half of it . We all have too much stuff!
Very good advise! I try to keep my wardrobe as minimalist as possible. I have only 5 SLG's and 10 handbags but I do own a few too many pairs of shoes that sadly don't get the wear, especially the high heels since the pandemic happened.
I love my pearls most of all. Having a strand or two of real pearls and a pair of pearl stud earrings elevate any outfit. In my culture, young ladies often receive a single strand of pearls from their father when they are a teenager. It’s a lovely tradition especially if the pearls were owned by a grandmother or other family member.
I started my process by looking at the things I use the most in my wardrobe. For me it is shoes (Fall/Winter-sneakers, loafer, sandal) & (Spring/Summer-sandals, sneaker) because I live in a hot climate. So I will start my luxury minimal collection with a pair of shoes. The next process I’m using is finding luxury brands or even not high end brands but well made items in all of the things I wear & use. This is really the hard part. Finding quality items. Jeans, tops, sweaters, dresses…and in styles that I love. So I have realized this process will take time and I may not like every brand or item I end up with. I have a small costume jewelry collection that I am building and I will only add very few luxury jewelry pieces. My wardrobe will take precedence. Jewelry, a watch, or a very high end handbag will be added last. I would like to end up with no more than 10 pair of shoes total. Possibly less. I appreciate and admire your journey
I've had a pink saint laurent wristlet pouch for MANY years. I remember your review of the pouch a few years ago ^_^ glad to see you also have it !! I have a tiny collection and it suits me I think. I've been eyeing a beige kate from saint laurent but defs trying to be mindful of my present life to see if I really want it or not
Hi Eileen, thank you for your great tips! What do you suggest in case of big pieces of jewelry received by a close untie passed away? For a few of those I feel very uncomfortable and unsafe to use, considering my lifestyle, but by the other hand I see myself insensitive thinking to sell them! What do you suggest?
I have some friends that have had their inherited heirloom pieces remade into something smaller or more modern so that they can wear and enjoy them. Just a thought!
I think everyone will have a different opinion on this. While I value the sentimental element of an heirloom, I mostly don't believe we need things to remember a person by. My personal opinion is as Jennifer suggested, to have the piece remade into something else. However if that's not an option, sell it on 😊
Great suggestions Eileen. I agree about not having to many slg & accessories and we tend to buy more bcus it's afforable instead use that money for a bigger purchase. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Eileen - Im currently on the hunt for a luxury tote but not one with logo all over and something that can be used in a professional workspace as well. I was hoping that u might have one in your collection for me to get an idea. Can you share your thots on some such pieces? Thx
