We bring 3M Command hooks to put up in the bathroom. Resorts never have enough hooks to dry your bathing suit, etc. When you are ready to leave, just take them down and use them again on your next trip.
A Makeup Eraser cloth instead of wipes. A spray bottle with alcohol subs for hand sanitizer, plus easy to use on surfaces, sterilizes your earrings, tray table, remote, cleans your watch strap & hairbrush or if you get wet, a spritz of alcohol helps you dry off faster. A small microfiber cloth for the bottom of my bag, it pads plus you can use it for spills, washing up, rolling valuables in, drying off if it rains or to cover your hair, it has a million uses. On long flights, use a panty liner it keeps you fresh. Sports bottle for water, most countries have glass (so heavy), ask stewardess to fill. Ziplocs for separating daily pills into, carrying snacks or leftovers, wet clothes. In a separate place than your purse, a credit card & some cash plus photocopy of passport/drivers license, list of medications & phone numbers (phone can be lost or needing a charge). Sharpie to write your cell on kids wrist or get autographs!, address labels to identify items. Take a gas pill before each flight to prevent discomfort.
@gaylemae Though her tips were good, its seems like alot of extra stuff one has to go purchase in order to make traveling "easier" ...🤔 I think we're on the same page; the things you mentioned - that's the way I travel, too...more simplified...with less "extra stuff to buy to make your traveling more simple.." 😁 and it's usually things we already have at home 🙌👍✌
I never thought about the idea of having a cell phone number on kids. I’m guessing one could have a bracelet made with a name and number on it for young kids unable to remember a number, similar to a dog tag.
Wet Ones are for your hands not solid surfaces. For wiping down the tray table, armrests, seatbelts etc on the plane, I use Chlorox wipes that come in a similar pouch.
Make sure there's no bleach in it. It can combine with other chemicals already on the surface and cause severe breathing problems if there's no air circulation-ie enclosed airplane. Otherwise good idea
I have The iPhone 11pro max and you would think the battery dies quick but ummm no. Lasts literally all day and I use it a lot and probably takes like 20 minutes or less to charge it really high. I don’t plug my phone at night and the next morning it’s either the same percentage or goes down by maybe 10. So it’s not all iPhone’s unless you have an old one then of course. So I don’t think I’d be needing that. I could never go back to an...an..and... nvm can’t even say it 🤢

I am moving to the UK from NYC for school, and I have been watching many packing videos today, and yours is by far the best and most helpful!!!! I also have anxiety, and some OCD, which makes me wanna be crazy organized and, everything needs to have its place all nice and neat. When you said that everyone in your family makes fun of you for packing cubes, I had to pause the video to come and comment because mine does the same thing!!! I love packing and keeping organized, but I am always looking for some new tips and tricks! Not gonna lie, I made a little list on my notes on what I need to change and do differently. I always travel with *Doc Cloths - the ones that wipe down bacteria with just water. Use it to wipe down the tray, seat arm rests and window area (if you're sitting there) When I get to where I'm staying, always wipe down the remote! Cleaners never clean it. I also wipe down most of the surfaces wherever I'm staying. If not *Doc cloths, MiraFiber® Platinum Antimicrobial BY Ultimate Cloth. I know there's other ones out there, but I have both of these. (No I'm not selling them, nor get a kickback, lol) But when I see a demonstration that shows it cleans RAW CHICKEN off a counter, I am sold!
a good tip that I learned from mixed makeup when travelling is not doing your skincare on the plane. One because it is gross, two is very dry up in the air so what is basically happening is that you do all that and you have that you are skin still feels dry after applying masks or sheets or even refreshing sprays. Sara suggests doing your skincare before getting on the plane and use an oil to look everything in so by the time you land your skin will feel moisturized and not dry. Oils like marula oil, rosehip oil or any oil that is good for your skin type.
Love your tips! To go along with your neck rest check out the napwrap. I like it. And for the people who mock the travel cubes, they help so if your bag gets searched, the TSA doesn't paw through all your clothes. I also take an empty water bottle to fill up after going through security.
I remember my sister thinking they were useless. I convinced her to try them and she was really thankful I did because she was on a sort of « road trip » throughout the UK and had to unpack and pack lots of times.

I love the neck pillow! And yes! I agree that hotels are nasty. Not only the surfaces but also the sheets. We never know if they're even washed between guests. My travel essential for this is bringing my own travel sheet (I use the Brave Era Silk Travel Sheet). I too bring wet wipes to clean the plane and a ziplock to put the remote into because I never felt like I could clean all the nooks and crannies, I just use the ziplock the whole time there and leave it.
I’m a flight attendant and that’s a great idea! Those seats, arm rest, tray tables, etc are NOT clean... and the floor🤢 don’t even get me started🙅🏽♀️ NEVER walk barefoot on the plane during the flight, no matter how long the flight is

Travel size Lysol is perfect for hotels. I spray door handles, everything in bathroom, phone, remote, all switches. I also take a few Clorox wipes from home and put in a ziploc. They travel size that have a seal never lasts and are more expensive!
I, too, am a packing cube convert. Had to buy a 2nd set for an upcoming trip to California. In my checked bag, I was able to put 2 weeks worth of clothes into them and didn't need to expand my bag.

Another, Google phone user! I have the Pixel 2 and that battery is great. There is something that my family and I, Always, always bring is a Nightlight! Hotel rooms are pitch black and it's great, so you are not stumbling to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Great video. Packing cubes are a must. When your bags get searched either by TSA or Customs you stuff is not all messed up when you open your suitcase.
I love all the tips and things you bring with you. I’m the same way, I want to bring my whole vanity with me. I use the Samantha Brown packing cubes because they’re nicer than the average packing cubes.
Just to let you know, wipes are not considered liquid and don’t need to be in your liquids bag. I don’t buy expensive travel wipes anyway. I peel off 8-10 makeup remover wipes and put them in a snack ziploc. Cleans everything a little better. Thanks!
Don't use a facial spray during a flight! Plane air is extremely dry so it is sucks moisture from anywhere it can. During a flight the spray will act like a magnet to your skin's natural moisture. when the plane air sucks up the spray it will suck up moisture from your skin. Then you will be tempted to spray again later and it becomes an ongoing cycle.
loved this video!!! I literally have all of the things you mentioned lol. For the phone battery, I'd recommend using a charging case instead so it charges with your phone instead of having to do it separately since I sometimes forget. Also, for the tiny wallet, I'd recommend getting one that also has a tiny pocket with a zipper because in Europe people use a lot of cash, and sometimes they won't take card if it's less than a certain amount. :)
I have a sweatshirt I always wear to the airport. It has a small hood with a cowl, which is great for warmth, and I can cover up my head and face if I want it dark or my face warmer. It also has zip pockets, which I will sometimes have my passport and boarding passes in, usually when I'm waiting in.line.

I’m a little nervous because of the luggage restrictions on most of the short flights to Rome, Denmark and Dublin. Did you find any good luggage that meet size and weight restrictions? Congrats on your year!
Also, when going international, make sure to double check your chargers and devices - different places have different outlet voltages (U.S. is 120, most of Europe is 240, not sure about others), and, although it's not as common nowadays, not all devices can handle a higher voltage (my dad ruined a battery charger that way) and a voltage converter might be needed (I honestly don't know if there are issues with a higher voltage device being plugged into a lower voltage outlet, because we've only had to worry about the opposite) - just a good idea to double check.
I find it odd that people are kind of super conscious about “dirt” and yet still travel. How does your body coping up in a completely different environment? How’s your gut with all those food? Unless of course, the travel immersion is far different to what I know and people don’t explore enough. I find dirt universal, you might be able to clean your sit on the plane but not the taxi you’d call. Your 20 wipes will be all gone before tou can even make it to day 2. Lol.
Many good tips, though we need to be sure the things we use are safe for everyone...if your body sprays have a fragrance that isn’t a natural smell, those chemicals are more lethal than dirt to those of us with chemical issues! Please use safe things like vinegar, baking soda, essential oils (pure), etc! Our lives are very difficult at best, and traveling is pure hell when we have to sit next to someone that is drenched in fragrances! They make accommodations for those with peanut allergies, but fragrances and chemicals are every bit as dangerous, and they don’t help us with that!
You are so right! As travellers we all need to be mindful and respectful of each other, including smells, noise etc. A little consideration goes a long way!
Agree with everything on her list - and have a few complimentary items. 1) I have a similar wallet, but it is RFID with a detachable lanyard and has become an absolute necessity. It holds my license, insurance card, a few ccards and some cash. Fits around my neck or in my jeans back pocket when I go minimalist or in a pocket of my big wallet so there’s no moving the license, etc back and forth. 2) Those little contact lense holders are also great for loose powder, liquid makeup, creams, etc and even smaller than the little jars. 3) I always travel with a runners belt. I use Easymate - it’s soft, comfortable, discrete under clothing, holds my small wallet, a big iPhone and a few keys easily, packs easily and is washable. 4) if you want to have all your important stuff on your person, several manufacturers make multi pocket jackets, vests, windbreakers, etc. I have Scottevest, but as I said, there are several manufacturers.
in general is is bad to disinfect this really frequently because it creates bacteria that cant be killed by alcohol and disinfectants which is really bad and will become a massive problem and most of those common bacteria are not harmful. constant disinfecting is what will make them harmful
Oh girl!! I'm that nerd too. I literally wiped down the arm rest and tray of my neighbors seat while he sat there. Dude had no idea who i was but thanked me anyway. I even gave him a few squirts if my hydrating spray during the flight. ✈️😳
BeatrixKiddo I put any of my current hydrating sprays in a travel size bottle. But Right now I'm using one from Josie Maran that is just under the limit. It works wonders
A money belt that goes under your loosely fitting T-shirt - you don't want all your cards and passport In your purse! Also a couple of very small wallets (purses) to keep the different currencies separate. And definitely you dont need to drag a laundry bag - a plastic shopping bag will do once you get to your destination.
Also travel Bug Spray (Off) extra antibiotics (if you are far away from home it's hard to get your doctor to fill it when you need it) extra empty cotton tote bags (like you said you come back with more stuff than you leave with)Also they roll up really small. Compact mini umbrella. Starbucks VIA literally carried it around with me and just added to water if needed. And Pancho is super essential. It squares away pretty small. Also I do a lot of traveling in my car so I have 2 chairs in my trunk at all times. Has come in handy so many times! Also they have travel blankets like at CVS which roll up with a handle and one side is vinyl which makes it easy to clean and other side is soft flannel. For beach or grass or cement or where ever. Great to have.
Lots of great tips, definitely will be using some on my next long haul trip.I love the little wallet idea, but I travel to Spain so I need like a little pouch to hold the Euros.
I make sure to use leak proof containers (like Nalgene) to transfer my toiletries into. I'm willing to spend a little more on this rather than have leaks/spills/burst containers that get the contents all over the rest of your luggage (or taking the time and effort to repeatedly put the in and take them out of zip lock baggies).
Good list. It pretty much mirrors mine. I use the TaoTronics Active Noise Cancelling Headphones. I also keep snack size Ziploc bags with me. Some countries public restrooms do not have toilet paper, I can just take it from the hotel, put it in a Ziploc and go. I also have two magnetic hooks for bathrooms or doors; hang up my laundry bag or jackets.
I kinda agree but won't with the liquid kit from the dollar store since when there is a tiny bit left it is really hard to get it out so my recommendation is human gear Go tubes and for mini containers there is two options either the human gear go tubs or in Amazon I don't have the link but they are glass mini containers Hope you like it 😊 Edit 1: for more liquid like water consistency use spray bottles Edit 2: in my opinion no need for compact toothbrush because you should use the toothbrush which suites you for me it is Colgate keep deep clean
Your video is one of the very best! Thank you! I always bring an empty water bottle and fill it where I can after going through security. I also bring ziplock bags for snacks I buy so I don't get crumbs or dirt from fruit peels in my bag.
Brittany, look up Taxi Wallet on Amazon. They are tiny but have several compartments, snap shit, and are RFID protected, which is a must when traveling these days.

Absolutely amazing information. I don't travel much, but I will be traveling twice this year. I usually drive where I'm going and have a ton of luggage with me, but I'm flying and need to only have 2 bags. Since I usually can only get my pants and shirts in one bag and then sweaters in another and underwear in another I really need to learn how to pack properly lol. Thank you so much for this video.

Loved the video!!! We have many of the same ideas. Organizing most definitely helps the anxiety. I pack and repack my carry on multiple times before my hubby and I leave for anywhere. Have you checked out a store called ‘Lush’ they have great bar shampoo and conditioner, not to mention tooth paste tabs if you want to go carry on and cut down on the liquids.
About the clear liquids bag: I bought the exact same one you show for my trip to Ireland last year; no issues with TSA here in the States but once I landed on Heathrow the security agents told me it was too big and I had to leave behind some stuff. Just be aware.
Yes, anything that is wide that "stands up" is going to be too big for European standards. The standard is 1 quart (US Imperial Measurement) or .946 millimeters!
Don’t think it matters how big the bag is but how much it contains. Liquids have to be max 100ml each (the package can’t be bigger and have 100ml in it. Package has to be max 100ml) and the total cant be more than 1L. Not sure if that’s everywhere but those are the rules here in the Netherlands. Also gels, lip balms etc are liquids as well.
Something that you can get instead of a power bank is actually a charging phone case which is a phone case that charges your phone and it is not too heavy and it is nice because you don’t have to deal with a power bank and their cords. It also charges itself when you plug your phone in so that’s one outlet less that you have to take up

-I recently did this and it’s great My packing cubes included a light drawstring back pack . I put all my hairspray/ curling iron / straightener/ combs / dry shampoo/ hair clips ( it doubles to use as a daybag or pool bag ) It’s just easier to contain hair everything -Keep a bar of soap in the packaging( it will keep your suitcase smelling nice and not funky ) - lip balm in your carry on - baby scissors Plastic bags in the side pockets ( you never know what uses you can have ) - big nylon bag that you can ball up. Often I make it into my personal purse and can stash additional items when traveling Back
