@@5050fishing I can't think of the model number, but I believe my 55 was at least 15 years old, maybe more. Hand me down from my stepdad and I had it for 8 years and road her hard. On live on the Thunderbay River floodwaters in Alpena, MI. River channel is deep, everything else is shallow (with a few holes) and a shit ton of weeds and stumps. I didn't consider another brand but really wanted the bow mount for the job boat. But for $100 you can't go wrong, I knew I'd get a good motor. Hell, I paid over $60 for new oars and oar locks.

About the same speed, maybe a hair faster. A kayak doesn't need much to push it but the extra thrust doesn't work out to much more speed because the motor only spins fast enough to push about 4 -5 mph max.

Joseph Harrick Fishing they arent cheap. outboard motors costs less than all this setup and outboard motors are very effective. i dont understand for what they make trolling motors if they arent effrctive.

Joseph Harrick Fishing of course trolling motor could be better for silent fishing when fish are sensitive even slow rowing scares fish. what batteries you use and how long it last?

my 55 would go about 3.5 with my row boat, 2 people and gear on water with an average chop. My jon boat about the same. I like to use it trolling for trout on small lakes, nice and quiet.
