"It's the year 20-MVCSHOTO, the umvc3 meta has evolved to the point where point ryu and anchor akuma mirrors are pretty much obligatory. Matches are decided by what player hits the first tatsu assist, it doesn't matter if they convert the hit or not or if the hit is at 10 seconds away from the game ending, the player that hits it always wins, somehow. Due to this, any and all games end prematurely because the TO's don't want to waste time and the game is given to whoever got that hit. Thanks to this, the short sets are at least ft10, and longer ones are ft50. RU-vid commenters are complaining about ryu more than they do about the usual top tiers, and ZMC was replaced by team street fighter completely. Romora still hasn't ..." But fr, this was one of the wildest sets i've ever watched. And the commentary and audience were both the cherry on top (Sponsored [tm] lmao). Ggs to both players. They both played out of their minds.
Assist i think most choose hadoken. Denjin increases move/attack speed, unsure about attack boost. It also changes the tatsu and shinku hadoken level 1 supers. Denjin shinku hadoken does the zig zag looking hadouken and the denjin tatsu super is a tornado
Honestly this over time became so hard to watch. A fuck ton of dropped combos, Vortex never actually doing a reset and blocking after he knew Zenpool was holding assist to tag on the earliest frame, the fact that Zenpool never teleported after game one even though that's the best tool for mixing and keeping away. The question mark in the title was very well placed let's say that lmao
He's considered to be low-mid tier by most. He is pretty awkard in comparison to a lot of other characters (especially when it comes to converting stray hits), but he has reversals, shinku hadoken is good, good damage, an invulnerable lvl 3 that you can combo off of in any case (i think you can even switch characters), weird incoming mix and an ok neutral even if it relies on random supers sometimes. None of his assists are that good, considering you get better versions of them with a lot of way better characters (zero has 2 of ryu's assists, but better), and he doesn't get that much from XF3, so he isn't much or an anchor. He needs some help, so mid and point are ok positions for him. You should also learn how to use his transformation super properly, which can setup actual 50-50s with assists or if the other guy blocked a fireball; he also can just DP (any ver.) and go into that super to go through an attack using the invuln. frames (you can fully dodge hawkeye's gimlet and get a punish midscreen, for example). Those are a few bits of information about him, if you're interested about them. Don't feel intimidated to try ryu, though. Him being low tier doesn't mean that you can't win. GL trying to get better.
@@hollowpotatoes770 I agree with this. One of the reasons why I main Ryu and Spider-Man, especially online, is because they're just fun to play and people are more likely to want a rematch when I use these characters as opposed to when I use Vergil or Dr. Doom.
Look up some Ryu tutorials here on YT. If you can get your cancels and timing down, his Denjin Mode combos can be devastating. He's also an underrated Anchor, assuming he has XFactor 3 and meter. Don't be afraid to use heavy Shoryuken as a casual anti-air, just make sure you know WHEN to do it. It nets you a free 150k for one hit, and it can be used mid combo too with M or S shoryu. Tatsu Super can shut down all offense with full startup invulnerability, even punishing Hulk standing H with it can get you free damage, a few seconds of time, or a free DHC. Best of luck repping the World Warrior! He's been a fav of mine since launch, and is on 2 of my 3 teams on point. Enjoy the Street Fighting 😎
[Spoilers] [Zenpool almost became a legend. There's still plenty of marvel to be played. I hope this maintains or picks up. Obviously the dream is new school vs old school marvel in the future
@@KyyaJoon yeah, but compared to Akuma's assist, Deadpool's zoning tools and Spencer's "if I touch you you're basically dead" idk if this is really a better team (plus Thor is low tier and Arthur is very slow)
This is true. Ryu needs a strong assist to lay back on during his neutral. I mean look at RayRay and his Ryu. He has Magneto disrupter and most importantly Sentinel drones backing him up. Assists and team comp are important. So Ryu/Arthur/Thor isn't a strong team whatsoever. Cause Thor, like Ryu needs a strong assist backing him up. Maybe Ryu/Thor/Strange could work. Have you considered that?
Some characters in mvc3 can't really play without good assists, not just for damage but mostly for neutral, that's why you don't see people choosing a whole team with just otgs. I used to play with Arthur and captain America and can't even tell how many times a have tried going in and finally landing a combo after almost dying, changing my team to cap/strange/doom made my experience with the game so much better!
