I got one of these as an early adopter with 20% off, for £62.40 it is an absolute bargain and I wear it for everything. Like you Loyd, I wouldn't run in it unless it was freezing. It's super light and comfortable and my new favourite jacket!
Nice jacket review. Thank you 👏 I gave up on expensive outdoor clothing many jears ago. After a few big days out the wear and tear offsets the fanciness and otherwise I would be worried about the wear and tear, which would compromise my enjoyment of the great outsdoors. Now that budget jackets are functional and fashionable enough I find it hard to justify the additional expenses.
Good to learn more about affordable options on the market. There are a lot of differences about why synthetic is better than down, including better when wet or humid, faster drying, easier to cafe for, less clumping and better washing durability. We could only make 1 insulated jacket and it was the animal friendly version that we wanted to do. It's pros and cons both ways.
I don't know Decathlon is killing it. They are still the only brand I know of that make running gear with space especially for your watch. Their tights are amazing, I have just not been brave enough to try their own shoes.
Good review. I've been impressed with the Harrier kit I've bought (Kinder Vest and Catbells poles) which are equal to the expensive brands IMHO. The Exmoor waterproof is very good for the price point, (and the best hood on any running waterproof, bar none), just a bit heavy and fiddly with all the features, and I needed to add a bit of seam tape where the factory applied tape had just missed the stitching. Still a fabulous buy though. Would happily buy from Harrier in the future.
This looks like a nice affordable jacket. I hope Harrier bring out some more colour choices though. I would love the Lomond jacket in racing red similar to their Exmoor waterproof jacket.
Excellent Loyd, as per usual. I went to the Harrier site as the video was running and bought the jacket...with a 20% discount 🤩as have other watchers I see... Fab!
@@Run4Adventure I now have an obsession with technical fabrics - GoreTex, Polartec, Primaloft, Pertex etc. I know them all. The good thing is I can spot a bargain from a mile away!
Hello Lyod my name is Silke and Iam a jacket addict too. Unfortunately but better for my wallet Harrier isnt shipping to germany yet😆 ...cant wait on your thought on the scott shoe, it is standing here, but I havent run in it. Interested what you sayin about the collar🤔
The Forclaz MT500 or Symond Mountaineering Down Jacket (both Decathlon) are close in price at 90 & 75 pounds respectively and would be two excellent down filled alternatives on a budget. They are lighter and more compressible too.
The synthetic insulation on the Harrier is a better option for UK weather in comparison to down, as it still provides insulation when wet. Decathlon do some really good budget kit, but I have an ethical issue regarding their European operation. I'm not anti shooting per se, but they market shotgun cartridges specifically designed to kill songbirds and migratory species (some of which are protected in the UK), just for fun.
Hi Alan yes it is, we have minimum numbers per gender and size grade and as we're a smaller company than eg. Salomon we like to release 1 colour, see how the product does in the market and then reinvest to bring out more colourways if its popular. I think we'll have a new colourway in autumn as sales and feedback have been good.
Hi Loyd. I have checker in Harrier web site....I was interested in this type/model of jacket....How is possibile that they deliver to all over the world (Brasil, Japan, Sri lanka) and not to Italy. Unbelievable...🤦♂️
Sadly they don't ship outside UK and Ireland... "We are still looking into expanding the business to provide a localised service for other European countries and the Rest of World in the future but unfortunately we do not know when this will be available. "
Hey Jumpy, we did used to but unfortunately Brexit happened in Italy and not in Sri Lanka! We've managed to sort out IOSS tax application now and we're ready to go and turning on EU orders in mid March again 😀
