You guys wanted me to find the best value octave guitar effects pedal on the market, and I believe this is it. I’ve had it for about 4 months now, and it’s lived on my pedal board the whole time. It’s very cool, and when used as a subtle effect, it really adds a lot to your sound. It's great for blues music, church music, and experimental music. I’ve really enjoyed playing on this pedal over the last few months! Huge thanks to the Woteritrade amazon store for sending me this pedal for evaluation, I did receive it for free upon my request to review this pedal.

You should use a volume pedal or swell pedal in front of the octaver. That would get you really cool pad sounds. Be sure to add a reverse reverb and stand still staring at your feet for the best shoegaze tones.

When you said about wasting your life playing bass I laughed hard! I’ve played bass exclusively in bands for like 20 years and only this year I decided my next project I would play guitar and vox to push myself a bit more. Never had pedals, always played clean bass and now I’m on a journey that involves co-ordinating hands, feet and mouth and it feels like I suck at all three and I’m starting out ALL OVER AGAIN! XD
@GunsandGuitars
@GunsandGuitars 6 лет назад
Your story sounds very similar to my story! It sucks to suck again doesn’t it? As a seasoned musician you already know what you want your guitar to sound like, and how your fingers should move, and they just don’t! It’s so frustrating! But sooooo fun when you finally nail it.
@freezetheatlantic
@freezetheatlantic 6 лет назад
Hell yeah! I thought I was fairly competent with a guitar - I’d always had one or two and played regularly BUT always sitting down and tinkering. Standing up, singing, turning pedals on and off and playing is TOUGH even when I’ve gigged solidly for years. My new band rehearsed the other night and I made us play the same two songs for the whole 3 hours til I nailed them!! I also only starting modding instruments just recently too which is why I love your channel especially the smart way you do stuff on a budget with every day materials and tools. I crowned and levelled frets using your method and now the instrument plays like dream so keep up the awesome content. Gear reviews are great too. I like my gear as simple as poss with as much bang for your buck so researching the right pedals for you can be a headache!
@dmoore0079

I can relate, but in reverse. I played guitar in a band and switched to bass (which i was more proficient in anyway) in order to fill a spot opened by our bassist who left. It was so nice to just stand back, play, and not have to worry about anything other than backing vocals.

Congrats on 75k subscribers, hopefully 100k won’t be too far away. For the fairly low price the Octa pedal is it does the job and the riff you play really had the sound of an organ which I can see being pretty creative and tracks notes well, I’m sure it’s pretty well made and has sturdy controls and silent switch as I bought the pock loop last year for around the same price and I’m impressed with the overall build quality and loops well, can save 11 loops, x2 speed, 1/2 speed, reverse or just play loop once, which for around £45 new delivered to the UK is a bargain with so many features and good quality. Thanks for your decent Octa demo and I’ve subscribed to your channel and would be more than happy to win the Octa or any other giveaways, keep up the good work, all the best Steve.

Hey Dan...sorry you’ve been ill and I’m grateful that you’re on the mend. You have so much on your plate that being sick really gets in the way. I’d love to add that Octave Pedal to my church purposed pedalboard. I totally get how that is a tonal asset in a P&W Band setting. Our rendition of Mayfield’s “People Get Ready” is the first that comes to mind. I’m also thinking about it’s creative utility for several Lincoln Brewster tunes, e.g., Let the Praises Ring”. Of course there’s the Octave interval glissando double-stop at the song’s intro; I’d love to dial that pedal in for the etude-based guitar solo in the song. Our P&W band goes some country and blue grass style music and I’m thinking how awesome the pedal would sound with my Electric Mandolin.

Hey guys, I am building a Partscaster and need to bounce an idea I had off of you guys. I am building a Parts Tele Deluxe. I will be putting a GFS Filtertron in the neck position, and a regular Tele pickup in the bridge. I will have a three way toggle above the neck (like on a Les Paul), and a Separate Volume and Tone control for each pickup. But see, I had this idea. One of the sounds I love more than any other in guitar is the Strat 2 and 4 positions. And I happened to have a spare Tele neck pickup available... so I decided to cut in a spot between the Neck and Bridge pickups, and throw the Tele Neck pickup in the middle spot. I was thinking of adding a 3-way mini -toggle to function as a function switch for this neck pickup. I'm thinking the three positions would be On (middle pickup added in Series to whichever pickups the main toggle selected)), Off (Middle Pickup deactivated, only using the main toggle), On (Middle pickup added in Parallel to whichever pickups the main toggle selected.) Do you think this will work? In Series mode, should I put the middle before or after the other pickups.

I’m not sure it’s possible to wire it that way. I would just wire in an on/off switch for it.

Your jam-out at the end was a lot of fun, but would have sounded even MOAR amazing (IMO) with a wet-dry or wet-dry-wet rig (with the wet channels being the only ones to get reverb/delay/tremolo). The guys from a popular long-format pedal channel on youtube did their version of "how to do wet-dry-wet on a budget" but their budget expects that you have two extra practice amps "just laying around", whereas I'm guessing most of your viewers don't have 3 amps (or at least speaker cabinets) at home. Is that something you could do a tutorial on? ...Maybe use your amp for the dry sound and have your wet channels be in stereo through your DAW and come through your monitors or something (for an "inspired practice/songwriting tone" that you wouldn't necessarily take to a gig, but might use to write or record with)? I predict that your take on how to do exactly that will be pretty popular (and sound amazing). Anyway, keep up the good work!

Wow Jeff, I’m flattered that you think I know that much about this stuff! Haha I’ll see if I can come up with a cool rig and we’ll see what happens!

Nice little pedal. I like the footage of you just jamming and talking to yourself. That's how most songs are written. What kinds of amps do you play live? Love to see a full gig-rig review.

Dan your channel is growing so fast! Good job bro! Dude I play in my church too! What a great way to get some sweet chops...feels weird being strapped with my service pistol while melting faces for Jesus, but hey times are crazy these days Lol, I ran out of that grave..I like that riff

Two things. #1 Great pedal review. Not a flashy or fancy pedal but it sounds great. #2 I love the commentary while you were jamming. "Gosh, stop sucking stupid fingers!..." That thought runs through my head every time I'm playing.

Yo that sub sounds pretty good. Not muddy, but not too synth-y. With the finger picking you did, it sounded surprisingly close to a p-style bass.

Yeah the tone is not bad, but it does lack the real low frequencies that make your gut rumble

Great demo Dan!! If you liked the sound of the Ammoon Octa shimmery thing you should try the EHX Oceans 11 pedal!! I picked one up last month and I looooooooooove it!! It's shimmer setting is very similar but more robust and tweakable! Also the Oceans 11 spring setting is INSANELY GOOD!!

Have you tried the Moore Pure Octave pedal? It’s a mini pedal with up to +/- 1 and 2 octaves onto your dry signal
