Amazing food. this is what makes Indian food so different from other cuisines. there is just so many varieties in just one meal and everything is healthy. nothing is overly spicy or too oily.
Should have tried Chutney's restaurant. It's like heaven for vegetarian lovers. Also another vegetarian gem of Hyderabad is Varalaxmi Tiffins at DLF gachibowli.
I had been to Subaiah Gari Hotel, Ameerpet recently and can say its very over rated. Just opposite to it is "Kayatiya Mess" which is far better than Subaiah Gari.

Butta means basket made out of the leaves of a palm tree or taati aakulu(Please look into the images in google for this word for more clarity) butta bhojanam means food in a basket.It means that there will be enough food for more than one person.Kunal Sir,you need to find the meaning behind the name.

Wow.. it was a pleasure watching the way the delicious food was being served in such a systematic manner .. We saw that sweets were served at the very begining.....some may wonder why? Well... there is a science behind this.. As per Aayurveda , when you are empty stomach and are deperate to start your meal, the acid levels in your stomach get increased... the digestive juice or the bile in your stomach is at its strongest then.. That's why as per ancient Indian tradition, sweets ( पक्वान्न in marathi ) are to be eaten first .... It helps in colling down the strong bile that has got generated in your stomach and thus in a way act as a natural acid controller. Further, Sweets take more time to digest and hence it is recommended to eat them at the begining of your meal ( when your appetite is at its best.) not at the end as a desert. 🙄🙄 Eating sweets or what is called Desert at the end of the meal is a stupid concept borrowed by us mindlessly ( just like so many other things ) from the Western Countries..!!! As mentioned earlier, sweets are heavy on stomach from digestion perspective...and therefore after having a full course meal, if you load your stoach further with these sweets , it takes your digestion for a toss leading to all sorts of digestion related problems in the long run.. ( those who are facing weight gain issues must avoid this at least.. ) It was good to see a सात्विक , herbivorous avataar of Kunal after a long time..🤣🤣 He certainly looks a shadow of himself while having a vegetarian meal 🤣🤣... never mind... pure veg people like me would love to see that more often... Lastly, I wonder how does he not even have a single sip of water in between his meal ? It is unthinkable... Or perhaps it goes off during the editing, I do not know.. But I hardly see a glass of water on his table during any show, hence just thought of commenting..
Kunal is doing this episode only for his vegetarian subscribers out of compulsion and not choice , because by nature he is a known carnivores which invariably brings sparkle on his face

In Bangalore, there are dozens of Andhra restaurants serving Veg Andhra unlimited lunch, but all are non-veg restaurants. Anybody knows pure veg Andhra restaurant in Bangalore(other than Subbayya Gari in Whitefield?

Kakinada subbaiah mess food is really tasty and good. But the quality of food in Hyderabad is not really great. There are two kakinada subbaiah mess in Ameerpet and both says they're original.
Kunal jee, Jaggery wali Jalebi or sugar wali Jalebi have the same calories . Jaggery Jalebi is also not healthy recipe for those conscious of their health.

I happened to taste food at the original Subbaiah gari mess at kakinada way back in 1989 for the first time. Exceptional hospitality. But after so many years i again visited their mess at Malakpet.worst taste, zero hospitality. When we asked for a spoon , the server simply rinsed dirty spoons in the dirty wash basin where people wash their hands, and dried them with the stinking half torn curtain hung near the wash basin. Sorry to say that Andhra hoteliers do not know the meaning of hygiene nor do they teach to their staff. Making money is their sole motto.

Andhra meal is very famous across South India, whether in AP, Telangana,KTKA orTN. This restaurant serves typical AP Vegetarian cuisine of KAKINADA origin. These ignorant remarks are not expected from an experienced foodblogger like you.
He is here to learn, but maybe he not fell in the good guy to teach him about Andhraite Bhojanam and Cuisine. He seems to be original there in search of "pure" Telangana food (which isn't well represented globally, and kind of similar with Northern Karnataka and Inner Maharahstra cuisines) but fell rather in "pure" Andhra restaurant. Something normal, as Andhra Pradeshis migrated to such scale at Hyderabad, that they are the dominant community in the city.
Well As a Hyderabadi I can say it is not the best. Just an exaggeration. Harsha Mess is much better. Or else go to Vijayawada and eat at Ramaiah Mess. Subbayya hotel is waste, just hype and nothing.
