Borthership (great name) looks very fun, but that's always what these Mario & Luigi games radiate. There's something about seafaring in video games that instantly makes it interesting to me. It might have started with Wind Waker. I've only played the first 3 games and liked each game less than the previous one. I should get to Dream Team eventually because despite some of the usual faults I've read, the soundtrack by Shimomura is too good not to experience. Props to Nintendo for an amazing run to the end of the Switch.
Really? I find Bowser's Inside Story to be the best one, and that's despite starting with the first game. Superstar Saga is my second favourite though.
I LOVE how well Brotherhood's graphics capture the same goofy animated look of the 2D M&L games, if the writing is good it's got potential to be the best mario game ever
I already liked Superstar Saga much less than Mario RPG and Paper Mario 1&2 at the time, so I never bothered with any Mario & Luigi sequels. Still, the trailer for Brothership looked nice.
@@KeeperBvK2 I don't know how that happened. I like Superstar Saga only a little bit less than Paper Mario 1 and 2, but I prefer it over Super Mario RPG. I used to LOVE Mario RPG, but when I went back to it in the remake, I didn't like it that much for some reason. It's incredibly simple and easy. There's way more to Mario & Luigi's writing and combat.
Dream Team is not without its faults, but I think it might be the best fo the Mario & Luigis imo. Weak comedy and abysmal Giant Bosses aside, this game has a gorgeous look, the combat is incredibly fun and rewarding, and I love the lore and setting which is certainly different than the traditional Mushroom Kingdom. I like how Brothership is continuing this angle of being set in a whole new kingdom with new characters. Maybe Brothership will keep this Mario RPG high going!
The soundtrack is honestly the best thing about this game for me. A lot of people from the community seem to adore this game but it could never hold my interest despite loving the previous three games. I hope the new title doesn't rely too much on excessive gimmicks, tutorials and fetch quest.
Still a great game for sure, but I feel like this is where the series started to decline a bit. Then Paper Jam happened and tanked. But the soundtrack is phenomenal
