I honestly enjoyed Xenosaga II and it's only later that I read how it's the black sheep of the series. I do agree that Xenosaga III is the best game (and one of my favorite RPGs on PS2), but this game has my favorite soundtrack which is not too much of a surprise seeing as I'm such a big fan of Shinji Hosoe. I'd really love to have a trilogy remaster.

I feel like this franchise would be legal hell to deal with but on the other hand they seem to have a knack for getting all these companies to put their licenses together anyway

So ... are you aware of the crazy crossovers in Namco X Capcom and Project X Zone? 🙂 I learnt about Xenosaga from watching Namco X Capcom, which I learnt about much later after seeing a Super Robot Wars(SRW) playthru.

It's amazing that we went from Xenosaga I which barely had any music at all (mostly cutscene and battle music) to a game with a full soundtrack.

Never played this game but I've been familiar with this track for about a decade. Really like it. Has a sort of melancholic feel.

The vibe of Xenosaga was fantastic, with the music playing a big part of that, but I'm not going to lie the story and gameplay never sunk their teeth that deeply into me.

I’d love there to be a trilogy remaster or at least bring the games to a wider audience. Back then they only released Xenosaga II in the UK along with a dvd explains the events of Xenosaga I. We never got III.

In case anybody is wondering about the subtitle: "Jenseits von Gut und Böse" is German for "Beyond Good & Evil". No correlation to the Ubisoft game, of course, which funnily enough just recently got a remake, while this hasn't. ;) I believe the subtitle of Xenosaga III was "Also sprach Zarathustra"? Always loved that title. It means "And so, Zarathustra spoke".
