We got some recommendations from some Croatian locals about a place we had to make a travel vlog about - it's overlooking Split harbour. Today we set out from Trogir to Split ferry to track down those views and we're glad we did.
Split is known as one of the main holiday destinations in Croatia, but sadly most people will spend their time exploring the inner city or old town itself and never really explore much further. We're here to tell you that your holiday should involve a very small amount of exploring. Definitely head up to the overlooking headlands and get a view back down on Split! Thank us later.
The ferry from Trogir to Split and back was easy by the way, we highly recommend it as a great way to see both places and the incredible Croatia coast.

Those planes are Krila Oluje, meaning Wings of the Storm, acrobatic group of Croatian air force, probably they were practicing, not the whole group

You guys are soooo missing the ship!! I think this is a fantastic vlog. The imagery is absolutely top notch and I found myself really absorbed by the shots you got in - things like the stone work in the arches at 5:03 the contrast between the reddish stonework and vivid blue sky at 5:29 and all of those shots from the hill vantage point. Lovely soundtrack to this vlog too all adding to a super chilled vibe - perfect to unwind to after a long day working in central London!

The chained gate is an old cemetery 😉 but I'm really happy that you changed your mind about Split. It is busy, but that is nothing compared to August. Even I cannot handle it, and I'm from there 😁 If by any chance you're still there, Omiš, a town close-by is worth seeing. It's under huge rocks and river Cetina flows into the sea there

Can’t wait to go next year we are there for 5 nights and then chartering a sailboat for 2 weeks will definitely go to Trogir on the ferry and up to the park. It still looks quite warm there for October I can only imagine how hot and busy it will be in late August 😳

Split is always busy or lets say livelier even off season because more locals live there than in Trogir, Kaštela , Solin, Klis or Omiš ( the town around Split) ...also most of us go there to school and university or work there. Split is the center of this region. Sometimes it is nice to live outside of Split because it is less busy , especially during winter and those peaceful moments are great sometimes. EDIT: even outside the main season it can get busier because of the cruise ships. So judging by the footage I would say those bigger groups are from a cruise ship

Hmmm I was recommanding you to climb there in one of your videos so I hope I had something to do with it :) the park was opened from the other side, it is the oldest jewish cemetary in Europe but it needs restauration.

No one ever really comments on colours and technical stuff, glad you notice that stuff. This one we just spent a bit more time grading, some new colours, a bit more vivid with the drone settings and some cinematic music to top it off 🔥 Still 50 or 60fps though.

Just subscribed and love the vlogs. We are an older (60's) active couple looking to visit Croatia in 2020. Would you recommend staying in Trogir to visit Split (4/5 days) ? How easy and convenient is the commute (bus or ferry) ? We would love to avoid the crowds and prefer the quiet, local ambiance but still see major attractions in Split. Also considering the Sail Croatia Explorer trip to Dubrovnik based on your vlogs. Travelling in May/June 2020. Suggestions from anyone appreciated.

We can highly recommend the Explorer cruise either way, it was amazing! Gives you the chance to see lots, but have the peace of your own vessel and room to relax and only explore when you want. Honestly you're probably better getting a place in Split, not Trogir, but just find something a bit out of town. The ferry was easy, but still took 30-60 minutes each way so if you plan to visit more than once over those days it would be annoying
