I love the TLM 103 on vocals, the body sound of an acoustic guitar, stereo pair on piano if you want a weighty sound or in the context of a piano/vocal. I know of people using them for voice over work as well. Dream mic(s) U67, U87, C12VR & others!

This is the one I want. I've got the little sister 102. I backed off the 103 because I had no sound treatment but after second guessing that should've been more of a reason to get it. I've gotta few bass traps up and the 102 handles things well but ultimately I want the u87 . That's been dmx mic for years I believe

@@blackexcellence440 *that's not what Drake uses that's what his producer 40 uses for Drake to record on. Remember that some cheaper mics pair better with different voices. There's not one for all but the u87 is standard bc it is versatile*

Hey Wallace! There's a slight difference in sound but ultimately, the U87 Ai is an updated version with lower self noise, a little better air clarity up top and DC-DC converter. The vintage U87 Ai They do sound different but the quality is there in both. I hope this helps brother.

Current go to is still my trusty AT2020! I can put vocalist in front of it and it sounds great. My dream mic would probably be the U87, but I probably won't have the mula for that so I will settle for the WA-47. 👍

Amazing vid! I am currently useing the t.bone sc400 (which you definitely have to cover, maybe compare with th sc600 or sth) with the scarlett solo, but i´m going to switch to the shure sm7b soon, i´m so excited... cant wait until the moment I can afford it, thats not little money for a student xD by the way, if you want, i can provide some sound demos for the sc400, just talking tho, but you gonna have a idea what to expect

Hey Mike. Unfortunately, I have tested the Slate VMS microphones emulator yet. I'm more of a traditional circuit guy as far as microphones and SOME interfaces. I will always choose the real deal 1st and have an emulator as extra. But it's all about the individual preference. I hope this helps.

These break easily and all sound different I went through 4 of them. The first one lasted about two years and was the best sounding one it was used best mic I ever had it was a 90’s version . 2nd one I bought as a b stock the matte black one the tonality was super bright and sibilant but also had wind noises sent it back. Went to guitar center bought a brand new one came home same issue wind noise after a week using it. Sent it to Neumann to be fixed came back sounding good but I don’t like the tonality lacks warmth and sparkle not the same as the first Neumann I had. My friends Neumann also just broke same issue wind noise. The capsule is so sensitive it fails due to humidity and the slightest bumps

I would say one or the other is better but I can say this, the TLM49 has a wider and fuller sound due to it's diaphragm. The TLM103 has a more direct and centered sound. Both deliver amazing quality and detail. I hope this helps Daniel.
