Very interesting video, was surprised to find a video that addressed exactly what I was looking for as its kind of nichey! Ill certainly look at the Divevolk case with the handle you've designed. Thanks! Big Like!!!

I have used my DiveVox case at depths up to the limit of the case. I found that the water pressure at depth pushes on the gel membrane which prohibits the phone from recognizing any finger presses. I found that taking individual photos at depth was impossible because I couldn't actuate the phone's button to take a picture. For video, I had to start the video recording at the surface so that once I got to depth, the phone was already recording. Zooming or any other change to the phone were not possible at depth. One other issue with all iPhone cases is that the phone's battery gets used quickly. On my first attempt with the DiveVox, I completely drained my phone's battery. The real issue for me is that I drive an electric SUV and my phone opens the vehicle's doors and is needed to start the vehicle. Fortunately, one of the other divers allowed me to charge my phone using the USB port in their vehicle. Alternately, I now take a recharging system or the vehicle's FOB.

Hi, thanks for providing feedback and your personal experience with the SeaTouch 4 Max. It’s good to hear that you’ve taken it down to its max depth of 60 metres and it held up to the pressure. It is however interesting to hear that you had problems with the touchscreen functionality, I only got to test it to 18 metres and had no problems, so I will take it to a deeper depth and provide further info once I’ve tested it. I was in Barbados when testing it where the water temperature is quite warm, so I do wonder if it might be a temperature issue that causes the touchscreen not to work at deeper depths. 60 metres gets quite cold so it would be good to know if you were perhaps wearing gloves or if your hand temperature might be the reason? With regards to the battery life, its difficult to comment as there are many factors that affect battery life, such as age of the phone, the apps currently open and its current battery health. You can check the battery health on the iPhone by going to ‘Settings > Battery > Battery Health and Charging’. The status indicator called ‘Maximum Capacity’ is a measure of the battery capacity relative to when it was new. A lower capacity may result in fewer hours of usage so is a good indicator of the health of your battery. It should also tell you which apps are consuming battery time. You could also try enabling flight mode to turn off WiFi and Bluetooth and closing all apps before your dives as some apps can drain the battery faster. It would be great to hear if any of these suggestions help you in any way? During my testing, I used a 1.5-year-old iPhone 13 Max Pro with the Divevolk in two separate 45 min dives in one day. I had the screen brightness turn up to 100% and left the screen on for the duration of both dives without having to recharge it. The phone had been recharged the previous night and after both dives, it still lasted for the rest of the day without having to recharge it, so I never personally experienced an issue. Thanks again for your comments and I will look forward to hearing any additional info you can provide?

Thanks for the video. I love my Divevolk case, but I still haven't found the right rig and lighting. I love the 3D printed rig you made and would love to pay you to ship me one. I see the small rig adaptor you use, but don't see how it connects to the go pro connector.

Hi, thanks for leaving a comment and your interest in the custom rig. I designed it to fit the Divevolk Expansion clamp so you would need this if you wanted to go ahead (www.divevolkdiving.com/en-gb/collections/clamp/products/expansion-clamp-with-lens-adaptor-67mm ). The rig allows for two shoe mounts to be added that can attach lights etc (www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0087MV3LI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I am about to return to Barbados to shoot a new video so if you're still interested in the rig when I return, please reach out to me on the channel's email address and I'll be happy to help (RU-vid@TechTockBoom.com).

I can recommend the Corel Reef Club hotel in St James which is also located near the Dive HighTide scuba diving centre or the Tamarind Hotel. Corel Reef is the best of the two but there is also Sandy Lane if you’re looking for celebrity style comfort. Have a great time.

No funciona para bueco en agua fria, siempre se empaña. El servicio post venta muy malo. Solo la uso para snorkel

Thanks for leaving a comment and yes the more advanced cases can get quite expensive. If you opt for one of the cheaper cases, just remember that your smartphone is also an expensive device so be sure that the case can handle the pressure as you go deeper below the surface. The Shellbox Gen3 claims it can go to 15m but I wouldn't recommend going deeper than 5m with it. I hope that is helpful and happy diving :)

Why would I spend 400 when I can get a GoPro or Osmo 4 for 299

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I'm guessing you're referring to the Oceanic+ Smarthousing case for the iPhone and you raise a good question. I also have a number of cameras, GoPros, DJI’s Action 4, The Insta360 and then there are the drones which are awesome. I think the main reason to consider one of these cases is so that you can use your smartphone as the camera rather than having to carry another device with you. There is also the subject of how deep you can go with the camera. Neither the GoPro or the Action 4 will be able to dive as deep as these cases allow, so if that’s a requirement for your dives, then one to consider. If you do scuba dive, then there is also the added benefit of the Oceanic+ case doubling up as a dive computer which can save you the cost of having to buy a separate device. It is also much easier to edit and share your clips when using your smartphone, especially when it comes to GoPro’s which are notoriously difficult. Hope that all makes sense and provides another viewpoint and thanks again for leaving a comment. Have a great day.

I am a recreational diver and currently looking for an underwater housing for an iPhone 15 Pro Max simply because it is able to record in stereo video for 3D support on the Apple Vision Pro. Instead of diving with a pair of "spatial computing"/augmented reality goggles, bringing a smartphone rigged with my SCUBA diving video lights is way easier :)
