Ugh, seriously...? What ever happened to the simple "Hey, you wanna go to Prom with me?" With that being said, I did NOT go to Prom, since I had no date... but really, it's a bit overrated.
But, to me, it just makes people look desperate. All it should take is a simple request, and not some blown-out, over-the-top way that requires a lot of preparation. If a girl asked me to Sadie Hawkins dance like that... I probably wouldn't accept. Sorry, but a plain request is all I'll accept.

This is stupid, and continues the trend of putting women on a pedestal. Brothers need to stop going to Hell and high water to ask a girl out and just ask. Stuff like this is stupid.
I see where both of you are coming from but then I can see that this is a little childish and if I were the girl I probably would want him just to come and ask me in person, but doing it the way they done it would really make me say yes because of how brave they were for getting in front of the whole class and making a fool of themselves.
At the same time, wouldn't you still say that this is a huge waste of time and money? Some girls can think this is creepy. If you're already not romantically linked or emotionally invested in the girl in some way, this obviously won't work. If they are/were already boyfriend girlfriend, no problem. But asking your friend girl out who obviously isn't into you? Wrong, wrong, wrong.
OMFG stfu. If you don't like it, don't do it. Don't stop others from doing what they want. They're teens it's fun!! Why are you ruining they're creativity and fun?! If they want to do it, let them! It's not affecting you in anyway. Simple as that.
