@@isabellepeterson519 The Game actually encourages you to trade it away to other players, but there are a few problems with this: 1) The villagers can potentially be crafting stuff that you get the recipe of *at the beginning of the game* or that is always available in Nook's Cranny. That stuff has absolutely no trading value whatsoever. 2) This is a problem if you either don't have a Nintendo Switch online subscription or don't know anyone that plays New Horizons. 3) The villagers *shouldn't* be forcing you to take duplicate recipes to begin with. It makes no sense that I can turn down a brand new recipe but not a recipe that I have seen thousands of times before.
Celeste stops giving you DIYs once you have all she has to offer so you don't get duplicates from her. She then gives you either 5 star fragments, 1 large fragment or 1 zodiac fragment randomly.
0:27 the best part is how you CAN NOT refuse the duplicate recipe and are forced to take it. Funny how you so have the text option to refuse a NEW recipe.
For a while, Canberra would always be crafting an apple hat. I think I've caught her crafting it more than 10 times, until she finally stopped. I don't know how many apple hat recipes she thinks I need, but I'm thankful that she's at least making what she loves and trying to do something nice for me.
Canberra was my starting villager on my island and I was freaking out when she left, I hated her, she was mean to me, she wasn’t exactly cute 😓, she ran over my flowers and etc.
At least 5 villagers of mine have given me 3 if not more aroma pot diys throughout winter, it stopped at the end of January thankfully and now my dupes are more varied
Oh, my gosh, it is AWFUL, and SO frustrating when you get the same ones over, and over, and over! You’ve given some good tips! I just got the crescent moon chair, which sent me over the moon! I also am frustrated that I continually get repeat items. Ugh.
Have you tried a jail bar barrier on either the east or west shores of your island? I struggled for ages to shoot down balloons but all the balloons come from one direction on your island for 12 hours, and then go in the opposite direction for 12 hours, from 6 AM to 6 PM. Building a wall of Jail Bars (or other tall items like climbing walls) will force the balloons to travel south no matter where they spawn from, and right into your waiting slingshot. They also have a 50% chance of spawning every 5 minutes, at times ending in 4 and 9 (for example 3:04, 3:09, 3:14, 3:19, etc) so it's a matter of patience, since they don't always spawn every time. I highly recommend multitasking for this; I ended up getting most of the cherry blossom recipes by doing my balloon farming with the jail bar barrier on the night of a meteor shower, while watching The Mummy (and its sequel). Kept things busy and from getting too tedious, and I made loads of wishes so I could get star pieces on my shores the next day. (But if you knew all this already, never mind me lol.) Good luck!

As far as recipes I'd want to see, I'd love more recipes with weeds. The hanging terrarium and terrarium are my absolute favorite recipes. Any new plant-centered recipes would be wonderful!
celeste will not ever give you duplicate recipes, after you get all wands, she will give you either a stack of 5 regular star fragments or one large star fragment unless it’s a new zodiac month and you do bot have that recipe
Technically that is wrong, lemme explain- When getting recipes from Celeste, if u don’t learn the recipe u can get it again, that’s how I got multiple of nova lights and moon-chair recipes and am now pretty rich from selling them, BUT if u learn them u can never get a duplicate back from her
Celeste will give you a unique recipe until she runs out, if she has not given you all of the zodiacs and it’s the wrong month, she will hand you a random star fragment, if you get them all she will just hand you random star fragments once a night every time she visits

The game is worse than that for diys no kidding around i got five of the same diys in one day it wasn’t including seasonal diys just regular everyday diys

This is a tip for getting Celeste recipes! It does involve time travelling, so it won't work if that isn't your deal, but if you don't mind it, listen up! Celeste only allows you to get one DIY per day, but because she always gives a different DIY until you collect them all, you can time travel to get the recipes quickly. On a night when Celeste is in your town (she appears after 7 PM!), talk to her to get a recipe. Press the minus button to exit the game, then change the time on your switch to ONE DAY forward or back. If you go longer than one day, Celeste may not appear again. Open your game, listen to Isabelle talk, then press the minus button to save and quit again. Set your clock back to the original day Celeste visited. Find her again and she will give you a different recipe! Repeat this as many times as you like. As of the most recent update (1.10), the way random NPCs spawn has been changed. There is a chance that CJ, Flick, Redd, etc, will spawn on your island on your Celeste day. Unfortunately this despawns her and you will have to find her another day. It is said that if your Celeste day is a meteor shower, this can't happen, but I haven't tested it myself. Good luck!
Once I received the same DIY, I already knew, from my bottle AND my first crafting villager of the day. I closed my game and didn't touch it for a week 😂
I've gotten all the non-Zodiac DIY recipes from Celeste and, I can confirm that she doesn't give you repeated recipes. Instead, she gives you either regular star fragments or large star fragments.

Fun fact! I think you can get a max of 3 crafting recipes a day from villagers, from what I’ve tested. First in the morning until noon. Then from around noon until 5ish. Then from 5 until about midnight.
I’m using the favorite tab to mark recipes I haven’t crafted. I have been just crafting every new one I can every day, in hopes for resetting that infamous RNG to give new ones, it seems to work a lot more often, as I needed the crates and shopping baskets and then HHP had those items for sale! I seem to be out of gold nuggets too, and not getting luck on those popping out of rocks or balloons. I also utilize the Animal Crossing Guide app, to know how many I still have left to find.
If you're ok with time traveling time travel to 5am and walk around, there will always be a villagers awake crafting. You can get the recipe, close the game and time travel to the next.
This is why I wanted to make sure to have at least one villager of every personality type on my island, same reason for getting new reactions too. My lineup is Skye for normal, Tiansheng for jock, Shino and Tangy for peppy, Raymond and Julian for smug, Amelia for snooty, Beau for lazy, Del for cranky, and Pashmina for sisterly
I think it would be neat that, in the same vein Happy Home Designer rewards could be achieved in New Leaf, Pocket Camp rewards/DIYs can also be gathered in NH. There are a couple clothing items I really like in PC that I was hoping would be added in NH.
Idk if someone else has commented this, but you can also purchase the diy for beginners set from others nooks if you’re still missing diys that THEY got at the beginning of the game!
You seems like the only way I'm able to get them is through balloons. Last night I shot a balloon it bounced off a rock and went into the water. I've been trying to figure out exactly where they come from on my island.
i’ve found: once you get all celeste DIYS you get star fragments from her pascal: if your packets are full/filled by the scallop he won’t appear, you have to have the scallop and one free space
I'm missing some because I used to have them but then suddenly they disappeared from my DIY list for reasons unknown. Oh shell light, I hardly knew ye (except for the shell light that I crafted before the recipe disappeared . . .)
If you are either an interior decorating madman, or if you are the sad soul that shares an island with 8 other people, each resident will have a DIY in a bottle spawn when they start up the game. I don't know if having someone join via local play spawns one, but closing the game and opening it with a different user works. You can get up to 8 DIY's a day, I have 7 other accounts drop off all of them at my house, and I learned a lot this way. Any dupes I either keep for traders to come browse through for free, or sell them at nooks if there's a lot of space taken up by them.
I have 1 lazy villager that just stays in his house crafting all day, but its only ever the super basic diy's so he only gives me duplicates. Ive got an entire room full of duplicate recipes😭😭 (i wanna sell them on nookazon but im also lazy)
5:35 when you have collected them all, she will give you 5 star fragments. Also if you have Celeste find her talk to her, go forward one day, back one day, talk to her and she will give you another recipe. Continue this. This is how I got all of the Celeste diys. 😊
The 3 recipe limit for Amiibo only seems to apply to those requests you complete. As long as you don't craft the item an Amiibo vistor asks for, they will keep giving you recipes/requests whenever they visit. I've been doing this for about a month with the same Amiibo, as their personality type has one crafting recipe I'm looking for. Sadly, the RNG odds are never in my favor 😩
Celeste will not give you duplicates ever. Once you have everything, she gives you either a few (In my experience 5) star fragments or 1-3 zodiac fragments of whatever month you're in. You can only get the zodiac DIYs from the month they relate to. She won't give you the Pisces lamp for example if it's August even if you don't have it yet. If you go to someone's island while Celeste is there, you might be able to get a duplicate of the DIY she's giving out.
I don’t know why I want to say this but I’m now choosing a theme to make my island. I’m doing Farmcore! But my switch is at my camper so I’m going to have to wait another week to play 😩 I’m watching so much animal crossing tho. It’s amazing
ALSO! Just found out accepting duplicate recipies COUNTS TOWARDS SMILE ISLE POINTS!!! I just got the last stamp today from that lol! I guess they consider “sharing” recipies to be a favor for them!
I don’t even bother going to my villagers anymore. I literally only need Celeste recipes like wands and space stuff, flower crowns and wreaths, and that one summer shell rug...plus 3 gold tools. I am just focusing on Celeste recipes rn and checking if she’s on my island, but the recipes are so broad.
I totally agree- this is simultaneously for the most fun and most annoying feature of the game. Especially when certain villagers will give you the same recipes multiple days in a row. It's so frustrating that you can't even turn them down when they give you duplicates :roll: the one good thing about hours of villager hunting is occasionally finding bottle with recipes I don't already have. And Celeste- love her to death, but i hate how it's so hard to find her and 9 times out of 10, she just gives me wand recipes. I want all of the cool stuff Pietro has in his house like the crescent moon chair and cloud wall & floor. But i guess I gotta be patient because I don't want to set up a Nintendo Online account just to get the stuff I don't have.
video idea: Mom Items For Dummies (or something like that) i only get one color of each of the mom stuff and i see all of these other colors that i havent gotten and im wondering if certain varients of the mom items are bound to a certain islands, kind of like your airport color or your nooks cranny tools in the cabinet.
