There are many Ducati Timing Belt fitting videos on RU-vid, but this is my way of fitting timing belts to a Ducati 748. so take a look and see if this helps
That's fantastic glad to hear it ... the dayci belts that I use here are a tight fit... but the best ones are Gates power grip these are what Ducati use ... Gates make the belts for Ducati as OEM.. I did fit Gates ones instead of these
Yeh ...I do actually trust it.. as Gates are a good belt manufacturer, and the OEM Ducati belts are actually Gates Belts... 👌 Thank you for watching, and I hope this helps a few people who may be struggling with this. 👍
@Desertduleler_88 Thank you ... yeh did not own the VTR for very long, but I did resurrect it from the dead 😄 I have always liked them and would like another one someday.. it was a very easy bike to get on with and not that hard to work on when you learn your way around it.. there are a few design flaws with it that can be improved, but no bike is perfect...
@Desertduleler_88 that's another bike I don't see around anymore, the Blackbird.. but I have worked on many bikes and the Ducati 916, 748, series is the easiest to work on and also the Aprilia RSV Mille are very well designed for quick access to components.. the worsed has to be the ZX7R to work on but I do love that bike also
Oh I wish I got one years ago I can remember when there was one with 10k miles on it for £5000 in a shop... About 2015 and I went to buy it but got the 1198 instead.. The 998 would have been a better choice for sure
May I have a belt related question? When these bikes were new it was requested to change them every 2 years or 10K km. Now the new bikes has this extended to what, 4-5 years? As I was shopping for 748 which I got today home (saving it from the previous owner) all were not serviced as Ducati required and this was always their answer. What is your view on it? Can we apply same logic on the older Desmoquattro engines as well?
Well, I will tell you a secret I had a 748 back in the year 2000, and I ran this bike on the same belts for 6 years 😀 and I had no problems. But it all really depends on where you store the bike and how you ride it. I would recommend Gates belts and Gates make the belts for Ducati, and they are very good quality. So, as long as the belts don't look damaged or split cracking, they should be fine. Just check the tension when you come to servicing it. These engines are pretty reliable in the right hands and 10k miles is quite alot.
@@PXCBIKES Got your point. How to use it. That is a good question. Once you sit on one it is clear for what they have been designed for. But 20 years later with large amount of these to be crashed in state like your 916 or somewhere on display you probably will not try to harm them.
He'll I just use my Samsung s20 ultra for video an audio I don't use a Mic but I have several microphones for my Gopro.. but the picture and colour quality is better rushing my phone
