You gave me the exact answers i was looking for. I dont want to hurt this old skunk that keeps coming around. The traps are empty on food but no skunk haha. Smart animal. Im going to use that tarp method. Brilliant. Thank you

Trying this tonight. Skunks wrecking my yard. The tarp on the cage is a good idea way better than walking up to the cage and draping it over.

Caught 3 during the early spring. Have one now but won't go in trap 😂😂 other three no problem this one not yet

This trap is 100 bucks in Canada and that tarp is another 30 bucks..

@@tazdevil6934 where I live you can get 2 of these traps for $40 and a tarp for $8 or less at harbor freight

Since it's a dangerous nuisance animal, I don't agree with releasing it. It'll just become someone else's problem. You are correct about Peanut Butter. NOTHING works better as bait. Certainly not those 'maple nut' pastes that the trapping companies sell. They're worthless.

I respect that fully, but here where I released it it was about 20 miles from any homes. Literally on top of a mountain

You can do whatever you want. I am close enough to public forest land far away from people, so I choose to let them live and release them into the wild… away from people
