Mgbill then 9-11. You can’t use the mgbill after using up 9-11. So you use 35 months of 36 mgbill. Then switch to 9-11 for additional 12 months. After you use up your 9-11, you will get your $1200 back
Ty for explaining this. My son was regretting signing up w the mgib, but it sounds like a person is able to switch to 9/11 after a time period. I will write and let him know! He is at MBT right now.
hey, alittle late on this, so you automatically get post 9/11 GI bill but its the Montgomery one that you opt for when you enlist? so your telling me I dont need to switch GI bills cause I can infact have/ use both? cause i dont want to stay with MGGI and loose the chance of using post 911 im so confused..
Questions: 1. For the Post 9-11 GI Bill, I'll be only receiving 80% of the benefits due to time of service, can I apply for FASFA to fill in the rest of the 20%? 2. So BAH rates is confusing me.. if you're taking ALL (or at least 1 class) your college courses on campus, do you get the E-5 with dependent pay rate? And the pay rate is about 1600 I believe? But then the BAH is also based on your schools zipcode, and its cut to 80% in my circumstances, so how do I calculate? 3. Tuition Assitance is a grant/scholarship? Can it fill in the remaining 20% of my tuition/fees? 4. Have you applied for any grants/scholarships? 5. I've heard that during basic, they've defaulted me to Montgomery active duty gi bill, but I'm planning to change to post 9-11 before I get out. Is my benefits already being used up or timed?
I am in the army on my way to transition out. Is there any military online classes I can use for credits? I'm not sure if it's the same for the Navy but the Army has JKO which has several extra classes to take. Can I transfer those?
