I normally use the hotspot on my phone but you can use any wifi hotspot you have as long as you get decent speeds.

How does this hold up to extreme summer heat in Texas? I've had other devices that don't survive even just sitting inside my truck while I'm at work all day.

The most common mistake people make is that the leave it plugged in. I know the instructions say to always unplug when you are finished using it and thats what i do and haven't had any issues. In the summer time one thing i plan to do is not plug it in until it hits room temperature at least. Imagine it being crazy hot in the car and then you plug it in only to make it hotter. Living in Texas i would probably even bring it inside hahaha but i'm crazy.
