audience catches the tennis ball in wimbledon: "what a catch that was!!!!" meanwhile some chap in cricket catching a 160Kmph leather ball diving 8ft, bruised knees, broken fingers: "what an amazing delivery, bowler did a fantastic job"😂
Haha i love rafa but it makes me cringe when people refer to him as class or classy, he is the opposite and that's why i love him. A fighter ! a BULL !
He is classy through his sportsmanship and overall the amount of respect he has for the sport. He has never intentionally broken his racket, doesn't regularly argue, respects his opponents, takes losses like a champ and even when playing against immature, disrespectful players like kyrgios he manages to focus on their good attributes in interviews. I couldn’t name abetter representative for Tennis ngl.
what's the rule at tennis tournaments? are balls meant to be returned to the court for play after a crowd member catches it? or can they keep it as a memento. I"m assuming they have to be returned as only a few balls are in rotation every now and then?
I see a lot of comments here, people comparing this with cricket.. I've played cricket for a lot of years myself. Trust me, for someone who hasn't played either of these sports, it is commendable to catch a ball nevertheless. It is not only about the weight or hardness of the ball, reflexes play a role as well... So yeah, let them enjoy, especially those in the crowd. It is quite possible that someone in the crowd hasn't played sports their entire life, and if that person catches a ball, that's cool man :)
