Make sure to purchase the cord with the gray end and black end if you use your iPhone...it will not work without it just like he said. Comes with a similar looking cord but that one with two black ends will not work with your iPhone. Great video!
You probably dont care at all but does any of you know of a way to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost the login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
@Ruben Vivaan Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Thank you so much! This video finally convinced me to buy these, in order to be able to record my RU-vid yoga classes without having to do a voiceover separately. Thanks for your detailed review and the links!!
we just bought these and they worked first time, out of the box - super sound quality. worked with the 3.5mm socket and via usb-c (2 handsets, Android variants). The quality of the built in microphone was very good, for voice.
Great video, Justin. Thank you for keeping us up on the latest and the greatest! I learned a lot from this one. I also like the presentation style for featuring and discussing a product. Right up my alley!🦋
Thanks a lot Justin. Although I’ve just started my first couple of videos. But I felt really thankful that your videos had encourage me to even try on my first one. Many thanks.
Great review of this! I looked it up knowing you’d surely have reviewed it. Any chance that you’ll be reviewing the new GO II version? That’s the one I’m thinking might work for me.
New sub here Justin, this channel is just the ticket for me. I have been making youtube vids intermittently for a few years, with no real filming or editing knowledge or skill, and it shows. I'm retired now so I hope to be able to devote a bit more time to the whole things. As far as wireless microphones go, I have the K&F Concept set up. They seem to work okay for me. Do you think I should upgrade to the Rode version? All the best, Brian.
🤷♂️ that's really only a decision you can make.. If possible try to test out the rode units in a local camera store so you can see (and hear) if it's worth the upgrade for you and the videos you're making :)
Justin, thanks so much for the Rode wireless video tutorial - I got this kit for Christmas and was going to google how to use it! I just need to get the lighting adapter. I subscribed and can't wait to watch the other videos!
Hi Justin, great video very informative, I have a Samsung A50 will I need to buy anything else to make this kit work or is everything in the box? Kind regards Colin
Hey Justin. I had already ordered my RODE Wireless Go before watching this video but still watched this. It's on back order and I cannot wait to get it. Right now I'm using the on board mic and I don't like it. But when I do voice overs, I use my desk RODE mic and for that, I love it. Anyway, thanks again for all the work you and your brother do. RU-vid is so fun! Cheers and boogie boogie, Ivy.
I just rewatched this one and shared it on my Facebook page in a comment. I just purchased the rode go myself although it wasn't under $200, although, it's May 28th 2020 as I type this. Not sure when you first uploaded this video. In any case, it's a great review and one I was happy to share and recommend. 😀
It looks like it should only cost 40 tops I mean wheres the surprise with a seven hour battery life when it cost 200 dollars it should have 15 hours tops just saying
So...If if buying the Røde Wireless Go for my iPhone 8, what would my shopping list look like? I'm a little confused about all the extra cords and such. Thanks for the video, looks like a great product.
I haven’t used microphones yet, so these videos are helpful to me in trying to determine what I want to use. However, I would have liked to see the testing you did with the microphone in the different circumstances you mentioned.
Thank you so much for all this information. Best I've seen on youtube! Since you filmed this, has Rode W Go upgraded to take the Lav mic without another adaptor? I do want to purchase Rode, but I know I'll need a connector for the iphone, plus another for the lav mic. Was hoping there'd be an upgrade by now. Or do you know if one is coming soon? Thanks!
Thank you so much. I am doing Ayurvedic Health Tips Educational videos. I record on Samsung galaxy f62 android phone. Can i mount with my phone? Pls reply
Thank you for all your fantastic videos. I'm wondering if you have ever done a Rode Wireless Go vs the Sennheiser AVX-MKE2 for sound quality? Curious to know what your thoughts are on this? Thank you once again.
Awesome vid! I’m a student looking to record lectures and listen to them on my iPhone or iPad. Could you please tell me how exactly can I do this with this product?
The receiver portion of this wireless device has a standard headphone style plug on it. Just plug that into your device. You may need the included adapter that comes with it to convert from a TRS plug to a TRRS plug required by IOS devices. Charles
@Drew Sebastian Another tosser spam account. I like how you used a different ethnicity on your second account that responds. Most of you scammers don't bother.
Hi, Damn...Nothing good in your life can happen if you start with No... For the longest time, I would watch your videos and wanted to make content because I saw the power of it, but I would always make excuses. It wasn't till i said to myself:'Time waits for no man, i have to start now or never'.So now I started getting out there and making content. Thanks be to God, now i share motivations and teach people basic computer knowledge and again knowledge about the online world on my channel, the online world is growing massively so it's important we study about it. Check me out on my channel, i have good contents for you Together we can make it happen
Hi Justin, I have the Boya M1 hard wired mic. It "sounds" great but it's a pain in the neck being confined to this cable in my kitchen. I am seriously considering buying the Rode Wireless Go. I think I'm liking the idea of using the lapel mic just as I have with the Boya. Should I use the Boya along with the Rode Go, and stick the 20" cable in my pocket, or just buy the Rode lapel mic? I'm ok with buying a new mic if you think it would give a higher quality sound.
Personally I love the Rode Wireless Go + Lavalier Go combo and use it for most of our recent RU-vid videos but before that I was using the Boya and it worked great! If you can handle the cable then I think it's a great option, so maybe test it out and if it doesn't work well for you then grab the Rode Lavalier 👍
Hello Justin, thank you for putting out these videos! They're very helpful. Would you happen to know if they have portable mixers out there that would allow you to run multiple wireless mics to your smartphone?
Not Mixers that i know of, but you could use some adaptors to let you connect multiple microphones into your phone. If you split to mono you could get one mic on one channel, and another on the other
Great video Justin. One question please. If you use a mini deadcat with the Rode Lavalier Smartlav+, do you leave the foam winshield on as well (ie fur deadcat over foam windshield which in turn it covering the end of the microphone)?
if i am doing audition self tapes, would your recommend you use this wireless go solution or would you suggest using a directional mic set up? also, do i have to use something like filmic pro to film my video with a mic set up, or can i just use the video function on my iPhone? Thanks for the video, great job!
Great review video Just one question, I still need to buy the lavalier from Rode or can I use The Boya lavalier, will that work? I do need the TRS adapter cable though right?
You can use the BOYA with this, that long cable though could get annoying though. They've now released a rode Lavalier Go microphone to work with this and it' great
Justin Brown - Primal Video I see they have the Rode lavalier Go on Amazon for $61.46 plus $5.00 shipping. To save money I could buy the adapter and use my boys for now. I also have the zoomh4n I’ve spent so much on audio in the past for my videos but I just want something simple, and not have to sync the audio. Thanks for your fast response. Maybe you can do a updated video with the new Rode Go lavalier. Thank you for your informative videos they help alot😄👍🏻
Thanks for the guide! -Really thorough. The only suggestion, when you have an affiliate link, is to update the mount for the new Samsung phones :) i.e. S20! Thanks again for this video.
Justin, I'm so glad I found your videos. You are so very helpful. You said in this video that more than one mic can be hooked up. I need to hook up three for the video I want to shoot. How do I do that and does each work off of it's own transmitter? I assume it does. My iPhone 8 does not have a headphone jack but I plan to get the new iPhone 12 that will be out next month. I did see the adapter you spoke of. Thanks for including that information........Beth
I have a Galaxy S7, what I learned from this video is I will be spending near $300 to upgrade my sound quality. R. W. Go System + 2 converter cables + smartLav Plus.
Hey Justin, great review. Out of interest, would you choose the Rode Go mic or a Deity D3 Pro shogun mic? This will be for talking head videos with my iPhone at home. Would love to hear your opinion.
@@PrimalVideo quality sounds good? I will be using this for talking head and a USB mic for screencasting. Hopefully I should be able to blend the 2 audio formats well.
Great video. We are filming on stage presentations with 3 speakers. Is there an option without having to buy 2 receivers? And how many mics can one receiver handle?
Justin I follow you for several years now. Congrats on the growth of your channel. I purchased the RODE WIRELESS GO II and use it with my Note 9. I am fine when it comes to using mic 1 but mic 2 never works when the channels are split. I only get audio from the second mic or channel 2 when I merge the channels. Which means I cannot use the 2nd mic for interviews. Which is why I bought it in the first place. I did by the SC16 cable with no luck. I am going crazy. Please help. Thanks in advance.
I was looking at buying the Rode Wireless GO this but the two major problems I see and they could have been easily fixed was the one mentioned about being able to screw in an external mic so it doesn't come out and the other is the rechargeable battery. We all know what happens to our phone batteries they gradually dont hold the charge I would see this battery as going the same way. Also the $199 you mentioned appears to be US and shipped from the US!
I don't see the battery degrading as a real issue - it's not any different to any other device these days.. but will be interesting to see what the next version of this looks like 👍 Yes it's US pricing.. same as all the videos on this channel 😉
Seems you and I are friends now lol each time I have a video vlog question Google sends me your way lol Thank you for your informative and helpful content. Learning from ground zero how to vlog =D
"Petty damned amazing for what it is" What it IS - is an amazing piece of technology for the price. Im in now that I've seen your video Justin, Awesome dude thanks a lot ! I live in LA and we're about to launch some short films where we need to steal some shots in city parks since we have no budget
Hi, Great Video, Very helpful, thank you. Please could you let me know what tripod set up you have for connecting the iphone and the mic transmitter. i.e what parts do I need to buy to have the same set up that you showing in your video. Thank you.
Hey Justin, this was an extremely helpful video, but I still have one question. The link for the Extension Bar doesn’t work anymore, so what extension bar should I use for iPhone?
The information about using multiple at one time is exactly what I wanted to know. It sucks you can't have multiple transmitters going to one receiver.
Thanks for a nice review, the question is, what will happen when the iPhones for example won’t have any more ports? Is the video go capable of recording audio on internal memory so we can download it when editing out videos?
A couple questions. In your video, you have a mount you use that holds cell on one side and receiver on the other side. What mount and stand do you use. Second question is you said you can have multiple units running. What do you use to tie in two of these receivers into one devices so both people can be heard. Thanks for your help
First off great video! One question to anyone who can answer it. Why do you have a TRRS to TRS adapter SC4 connected to your lavalier mic? Couldn't you simply plugin the Smart Lav directly to the transmitter?
We've mentioned how this is possible in a few videos.. but you can use an external recorder that supports multiple channels (microphones) like the Zoom Recorders, or you could use audio splitter cables to split the headphone jack plugs in two, allowing 2 mics to be connected that way. Some microphones like the iRig support connecting two together too
Great video. Thank you. I am a bit of beginner and wonder if you could give me some advice? Do you know what hot shoe ring adapter would fit the DJI Osmo 3 abs the Rode Wireless go? Thanks
Love your tutorials - really helpful. After watching your video I had to have a Rode Go mic. Unfortunately, I 've had it for several days and still can't get it to work with my iphone11. Have the correct adaptors, it lights up, but won't record any sound. It also doesn't have an audio level monitor. I know this isn't the place to get tech help but I've been searching the net for days and so frustrated. So please if you have any suggestions would very much appreciate it. Keep up the good work, your vids are precise and straight to the point.
Hi justin thanks for the video. I was wondering if it is possible to connect two transmitters to one receiver connected onto my dslr camera? I do cooking show with my mum and we will both be speaking. Do u thibk i can connect two mics or will one be enough if positioned properly? Hope that makes sense. Thanks
Just found out Rode came out with a white Wireless GO. I saw a vid on this and I swear the sound (without a lav mic) is different than the black. Could you please do a test on the white and black comparison? Also, I saw the LAV GO mic. Is this better than the Rode smart LAV plus?
