I really love the composition of this statue. She is dynamic but you can clearly see her face and body. One issue I normally have with dynamic statues, is at times you cannot see the main character clearly. This one is so great because that is not the case, Wonder Woman is center and the Hydra is outstanding. I've owned snakes before and the Hydra skin looks so life like, this is a killer statue. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I just received this piece, and I love everything about it! thankfully the hair magnet is super strong and there is no gap, this is the best WW statue out there.
Deja vu means that there is a glitch in the matrix. Something has been altered, watch out they are on to you. Perhaps it's because you are no longer buying a large amount of statues anymore. All hail Hydra. This Wonder woman vs. Hydra sculpt looks amazing. I know that the portrait might seem to be expressionless as she battles that legendary beast but how do you think she feels about her missing hair issue. They had a hard time making her dynamic hair along with that pose for them to even think of making a second portrait is too much. Still not a bad look to her as she is seriously contemplating on how defeat the monster. This piece is really well done and enjoyable to look at. I personally feel it would pair well with the Batman vs. Joker Dragon but wherever you display her she will command attention. Beautiful sculpt and congratulations on getting it.
Not for me, I think this was done better in the past with Red Sonja. Granted it's a different character, Wonder Woman, but as you said the portrait is lacking. I'm glad you like it Mr X
The hair is a widespread problem. Using foam may be a temp fix since it will be flatten in a short time, putty or harder material to fill the gap should do the job. Original post: "Hi add a thin piece of foam pad at the back of the hole. Mine came with a skin coloured foam pad pre-installed at the back and one side of the hole, but I think the thickness was not enough. The hole was sized too big for the peg, and that is why the hair piece keeps falling backwards. After adding another piece of foam pad, the hair piece stayed in place."
Sigh. I was excited for this statue, but with the bald spot, I'm going to cancel. Other folks have painted it or put black tape on it, but we shouldn't be expected to fix issues like this for spending a thousand or more dollars. Thanks for the great review!
I agree with all your points! That is a great statue overall, but the face is a slight miss and the purple opaque saliva in the hydra's mouth could have been better.
Great statue and a great review. The statue is so dynamic and the color contrast is nice. However, I’m not a fan of her portrait because to me it doesn’t look beautiful. It’s not ugly by any means, but it’s also not beautiful at least to me. Her pose and presumed motion remind me of those action movies where right before the big blow, the movement of everything in scene is slowed way down and suddenly go back to regular speed. (If that makes any sense.)
Incredible looking statue despite the portrait not being quite as amazing as the rest of the staue and base. If I would've liked the face just a little bit more I would've 100% pulled the trigger on this on. Great Review as always!!!
somehow it remind me of the P1 Horizon Zero Down statue they did. totally different statue, but still. I have quite a few WW statues but did not go for this one. I hope I didn't make a mistake, like I did with the JND WW statue (yes, I still cry at night missing out on that one)
Great review and cool piece. I do have more connection to wonder woman than some other female characters but if I had to choose between this or the red Sonya piece, I would probably give the win to red Sonya. Which is the best dragon statue in your opinion?
This statue is nice! I love the details on the hydras and the rest of her body, costume, etc. but that non expressive face just kills it for me. Agree with you as I wished there would have been some other portraits with more expressions, especially showing more energy battling hydras! SMH! 😔
Why don’t you like translucent resin on the body? What difference does it make if it’s translucent? How does that effect the paint? It’s usually white resin is it? Her skin looks sweaty in the camera.
The tiara is one of the biggest knock for this statue. Wish the band was hidden by her hair. How is this holding onto her forehead? It’s like PCS new MK statues where the mouth piece just hovers over their face. It just look strange. I choice there Rebirth Wonder Woman over this. However, the Hydra looks so dam good on this statue.
They should have had a swap out portrait, and a whisp of hair that would hade the seam line. As you said, she looks bored, not energetic or exerting force. I'm not a fan of when they attempt to add flowing liquids on the mouth of creatures because it looks tacky and hides the detail of the teeth/mouth.
I think the statue is amazing. Yeah the face is a little questionable but she wouldn’t be the first woman to get her face covered while a guy plays with her 😎
Hi, I’m international statue collector and I’m using freight forward shipping companies because shipping costs directly from Prime 1 crazy expensive for shipping to my country. If there’s not hard for you, could you please take a screenshot or say brown shipper box sizes ? Thanks
So I saw from other reviews that there is a small gap on her hairline which although from most angles is not visible, for a $1,500 statue, that would bug me. Did you notice that and just how bad is it?
Yea the face is not great, see how her sideburns don’t match up with the hair line and that gap in the hair looks bad. And I don’t understand how they do a good job on some eyes and bad on others. Like they did an excellent job on my Griffith, his eyes look real, they’re so good, but I’ve seen eyes on other statues and they’re not good.
The Wonder Woman movies sucks, she is the reason I am hating Wonder Woman more. Gal sucks at acting in a million different ways, she ain't even a pretty woman. But I love this figure..
