I've used this bag for a year and I'd like to point out 2 things: - You CAN put a sternum strap on it, it is sold on the website. - It is very weather resistant as it's waxed canvas, invented by Scottish and British fishmermans to protect them from the elements. However their's is a dry waxed canvas, but it works just as well as a normal one, way more than ballistic nylon imo if you reapply it once it fades out ofc. And also for potential buyers, I can not recommend this bag enough, the only downside is you indeed get quite sweaty with it in the hot months. Also you can access the front pocket without undoing the buckle, it's just not very practical but I do it often.

Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience with the bag! I’m glad to hear it has worked well for you and I appreciate the additional information around the sternum strap and materials! And I agree on the overall experience with the bag being great!:)

The bag looks really good on your back. I think that Trakke manufactures amazing products and you kind get the feeling that you have a unique bag in your hand that not everyone else has too. It makes sense to me to buy an expensive high-quality bag nowadays that will last you for 20+ years and it seems like this brand delivers this demand. Cool video, highly enjoyable :)

Best of the best, might not be for everyone but it definitely is a fantastic piece of gear. It just feels like it will outlive most of my bags and I have many really well built packs. I just feel like hugging this thing, the materials are just top notch and simple. Every Trakke product I own makes me happy even to just look at it, my bag game increased considerably once I stepped into Trakke's territory, they're just many steps above from most bag companies.

Correction, this bag actually does accommodate a chest strap which is sold separately.

Great review. I love the look, always have. Well-made. Attractive. Different, looks-wise, than other bags on the market. Dig the orange! Do you find you can raise the bag higher on your back easily (I like bags that ride higher and don’t drag). I worry about the lack of padding in the straps and the lack of ventilation. But you seemed ok with that. Do you think there is enough padding on the back so it’s not digging or too stiff (as a computer is against the back)? A few more internal pockets, I wish. Maybe I’d get used to the lack of. I wonder how I would adjust to the buckle system. I hear once you get it, it’s easy. Because I don’t want to add more bulk, do you think the compartment is raised enough for a computer (and do think a 13in. would wiggle around too much). I would love a review of the Trakke Bairn (it’s on my to buy list) and Wee Lug. Very impressed by the company’s commitment to quality. Like that you recommended other bags, too, as options.

Fidlock buckles would make this bag awesome. They went the G hook route and though it is an improvement, it’s still not ideal.

Hey, does the black fabric attract a lot of dust/dog hair ?
@dannypacks

Thank you for watching and good question! The bag doesn’t attract quite as much as some other bags I’ve had but it’s still definitely noticeable especially for me having a white haired dog around a black bag :)

I watch almost all your videos. A few suggestions: 1. Can you please come up with a better setup for main video of the bag? Angle is weird, lighting is bright, but doesn’t really get inside the bag very well. A 2 camera setup with proper lighting would be so much better. And the resolution seems kinda poor, and also kind of noisy video. 2. Please consider changing your thumbnails. They all say “BEST WORK BAGS” or whatever, and just sounds cheesy. I mean how can everything you review be the best? Please class it up. Take a page from the Chase Reeves book. 3. Buck the trend to almost always get black bags. Pack Hacker tends to do this because all black is their personal preference. I find all black so boring, hard to see inside, and if someone takes off with your bag and you are chasing them, a brightly colored bag is so much easier to follow. So ask the manufacturer to send something more playful next time. Or if not, maybe just do your videos in B&W. Oh, is it pronounced Trake or Track? I thought it was Track.

Thank you for watching and for the thoughtful feedback! I think these are great suggestions and definitely some things I will be thinking about how to improve on (the black bags will be tough for me tho as I really just like the look of that color haha). And good call on the Trakke pronunciation, I don’t know why I remembered hearing it the way I said it but it is pronounced like you said so for any videos I include Trakke products in the future I will make sure to make that correction :)
