Korea's only chance was to win by 2 or more and simply hope for Mexico to win their last game.3 The latter seemed more likely to happen but instead it was the other way around.
Back then it was 1-1 for germany and sweden, 2-0 mexico, and 0-2 korea, korea already got no chance of qualifying..but they saved mexico who lost by 3-0 with -1 GD otherwise germany would qualify even with 1-0 victory over korea
@@shineinouzen7669 if Sweden lost to Mexico and Korea won by 2 or more goals, Korea would qualify as Sweden, Germany and Korean would be 1-2 and Korea had the better goal difference
@@shineinouzen7669 it's held at the same time since it's the final match of the group stage. All of the final matches of any group in the group stage are played at the same time so people can't plan strategies around the other game. This happens in every world cup. Check the schedule if you want to.
Dan juga para pemain lainya, yang jadi pemblokir tendangan, mereka memblokir dengan menjatuhkan tubuh mereka, sehingga membuat bola terbentur tak bisa masuk gawang
That was a great World Cup, a lot of scoring from the start, teams separated themselves from difensive football, it was a great change or return to the attack
You see similar shots to the one at 1:50 in numerous other matches, where the striker hits the ball, then it gets deflected immediately by a defender, looping over the goalkeeper. I'm really surprised that football coaches don't analyse these situations more, so that the technique can be utilised by two players on the same team. I can't see any reason why teams can't practise striking the ball against their teammate so that the ball loops and possibly results in a goal.
He did some serious work. It reminds me of the US when they made it to the world cup and played like utter garbage. Everyone ragged on them for that. Everyone forgot the goalie.... who had broken the record for most blocked shots in a world cup game. Almost always, the goalie is the most forgotten player on the field, yet almost always the most important.
As a Korean I remember that night I was out with my friends at a pub and an older guy, sitting by himself, told us "Korea is gonna win" before the game started. We laughed so hard thinking that he was too drunk. At the end of the game, we were hugging and jumping together lolol
It’s literally every touch went wrong for Germany and one slip up cost them the game. That was an incredible win by S Korea. Always love the underdog story!
O dia em que Neuer jogou noiado, o kros deu passe errado, o Özil com freio de mão puxado, o Müller jogou melado, o time coreado bem inspirado e o time alemão eliminado.😂😂😂😂
The ref was hugely biased. Shame on him. Twice Korea should have been awarded penalty kicks. Both infringement against Korea players who cld have scored. The ref gave yellow card only to Korea. So in the end providence gave justice. Korea scored a goal that was scored cos of Germany foolishness. Korea never gave up trying. Great to see Korea win. (Frm NZ)
The quality of the match could be explained by two facts: One team was playing for the qualification; the other was playing for the honor and the prestige.
@@kelseywilson8435 you can even see it says world cup russia 2018 you dont know muts about football when you think germany can meet korea in a qualifi lol
@@user-tm3xv3nn5d No germans tried every singel way to score, but just could not and in the end they gave Neuer also opportunity to score, but lost the ball and thats why it was so easy for our son to score the goal.
Germany was the clear favourite. Korea played out of their minds. Korea was already out. Korea took Germany with them. lol The Korean goalkeeper played like a god. Not a lot of people would’ve expected this
Actually this time the German was the first person on the ball and the penalty was because the Danish was the last on the ball and “tripped” Sterling. Sterling barely got touched though🤣🤣
@@ItsChamp video assistant referees or video assisant review. idk which one. the "VAR GOAL" part doesnt make sense because he was just reacting super fast but they meant "VAR says its a goal" or something along those lines.
@@ItsChamp VAR means Video Assistant Referees. It's a group of referees that say in a room analysis video footage of fouls and goals to detect any failure with the help of electronics. And don't confuse idiocy with ignorance, if you were idiot you wouldn't care about the meaning, you're just ignorant.
I remember watching this match. All of my friends were betting against S. Korea. We were drinking and so with some alcohol courage I was the only one betting against Germany. If I were to lose I'd be buying them drinks for a night. It was fun getting free drinks delivered for a week from every single one of them.
as a german, I can only say that it was a game with a lot of respect between both teams. both teams played well but the south korean gk was just incredible and the win was highly earned
@@jorg639 thats not how football works sometime. SK is out of the WC before this game but they fought like they are in the final. German was unlucky at times but only have themselves to blame.
Si la ciencia puede explicarlo El portero koreano jugo muy bien Si fuera dueño de un equipo de fútbol me llevo a los dedensas y al portero Simplemente jugaron mejor 👍
I remember watching this game in extreme stress because I am a Mexican and if Korea beat Germany, even if they didn’t get to pass to the next round, Mexico would be allowed to pass. Fun fact, when Korea won, the Korean embassy in Mexico got swarmed by happy people and people were so exited, they jumped so mutch, that we were actually able to create a small earthquake. Lol
I remember watching this game in a little stress because I betted all my money on Germany to pass the group-stage ! And they didn't ... made 33000 euro difference for me. ay ay ayyyy
@@andreasansonetto4122 this can actually be done. In belgium they had an experiment with the folks from the tv channels over here to gather an amount of people to jump on the same time. The impact was measurable on the scale of richter (actually by quite a lot). I don't remember all the details, but it is definitly possible and it was with a lot less people than an average football stadium
The South Korean goalie played a magnificent game. He kept South Korea in the game and the Germans had many chances but the Germans just didn't put the ball into the back of the net. Eventually a German defender got nutmegged and an open South Korean player put the ball into the back of the net.
I remember watching this game live. The fact that they were already out of competition but they played their best. Their passion towards soccer is in different level.
no. There was only one case left. Assuming that Mexico would catch Sweden, Korea would advance to the round of 16 if Korea beat Germany 2-0 or more. Of course, both Korean players and Koreans expected Mexico to beat Sweden and imagined a miraculous picture of Korea winning 2-0, but they actually won 2-0. That's why the Korean players played hard, and that's why the players are so enthusiastic. It was because the players did not know the results of Mexico and Sweden.
