I think that with singles v. curated palettes, it's more that now you know exactly what you like, you can find all of the ones you want in a single curated palette versus Oh I would like this I wish it had this and this and this sort of thing. It's like with indie perfuming. Each house does certain notes better. I like Nocturne Alchemy's Oudh best, Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's O.pium notes best, and Possets Rose notes best. Honey notes evaporate, *poof!"*, non-aged patchouli makes me sick, while Cereus cactus blossom notes amp to hell on me. For mainstream perfume houses, nobody does a spicy fruity floral like Nina Ricci's L'Air du Temps. Once I figured out what my favourite notes were, I went for blends with them in it, and had perfectly curated scents for my preference and skin chemistry, so I can immediately go for certain blends, because I KNOW they'll work. For eyeshadow, it was a similar thing. I tried a lot of single shades to find what shades and tones look good on my wonky skintone. Then I tried a palette with shades I like to find out if they have good formulas. Sometimes, I impulse buy, and end up with a flipping gem like Glamlites Dirty Martini. Those Olivine greens rarely work on me, but the tones and exquisite quality of the formula made it magic, so if she made say, an Aviation or Blue Moon palette to add onto her Happy Hour collection, I'd hit buy so fast my tablet would have skid marks on it!😹 As it is, I'm tempted by the Wine palettes Violets and that Burgundy looks so delicious! So yeah, I see merit in curated palettes, though if a brand made a single of a shade I absolutely loved, I would likely get it, as I have some magnetic palettes I curate to have shades I use often enough, but aren't in anything else I have. I also have a repress tool so I can refill a non-removable pan in a palette I adore with any shades I think would work well(I hate having an empty pan in a palette.).
The revlon foundation colorstay oily and combo !! It is my holy grail and ive tried everything including some of your favorites- Their super lustrous lipsticks are GLORIOUS. And their baked highlighter thing - a lot of people say it's a dupe for the abh amrezy
I'm sorry to make this personal, but I am having a terrible day and, as the creator of Glamorous to see it so high in your ranking, is something I so desperately needed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
@Angelica Nyqvist honestly, as hard as it has been, there is no reason that today can not go down as a great day 👍 thank you for unintentionally getting a random person on the internet, to get out of their own head. I'm sure it's not the reason you make your content, but man what a happy by product 🥰
@Vitaluv omg thank you so much. Glamorous is no longer available, unfortunately, but we do have the singles, from the palette. Save your coin for exciting new things coming...
I was able to get the single bundle a month or so ago, and it is a gorgeous color story! Of all the indie brands with the aqua/teal, magenta/burgundy, and plum matte palettes this is the one whose shimmers pulled me in most. Those mattes steal the show, of course.
I'm so happy you like my color story so much! I can see why it would fall in the "good for the price" category for you, we look for different things in our shadows. But I'm still just so honored you accepted it as PR and tried it out, seriously a highlight of this whole experience :)
I honestly don't understand why people get so mad at you for not liking makeup...like wtf?? Based on the way you described the Loreal mascara, I wouldn't like it, either! I much prefer lengthening mascaras over ones that give tons of volume (such as the Loreal Bambi Eye). People need to chill, lol!
I think it’s just being biased towards their fav brand and not taking opinions right honestly if they’re mad they should stay mad it’s their issue not Angelica’s
For anyone wondering: the Kaleidos symphony illuminator (Angie’s #4) is the same product as the lightest shade in the contour trio (#21)! No need to repurchase the single if you still have the trio :)
With Revlon, I love their original lipsticks with the little windows on the top. The crème formula! They’re basic, comfortable, bullet lipsticks but the catalog of shades is extensive. Rum Raisin is their best seller for sure. Just look up the batch code first because sellers tend to leave those products on their shelves for literal years. Edit: They’re called the Super Lustrous Lipsticks
Yes the super lustrous lipsticks are the best. My favorite part is most of these shades have been with revlon for a very long time. The nerd in my loves the history of it all.
Revlon lipsticks are just so sublime! Angie would look amazing in Fire and Ice. Cherries In The Snow is the ONLY red I can wear. It's so flattering for those who have cool, strong pink undertones.
@@SuperSarahbop yes! They sure do! I wish I could wear them as they are beautiful , but orange doesn't look good at all on me. But for those who can wear it, Revlon has some of the most beautiful lipsticks....in any shade. And the formula is so nice! It's not drying. Yes, reapplication is needed after eating and drinking, but I think the longevity is really good! I hate liquid lipsticks because they always feel terribly drying. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks are comfortable and leave my lips looking smooth and hydrated. I love them and hope the company stays in business so people can continue to enjoy it!
Love those L.A. girl mixing pigments! I go through the blue like nobody's business. If they ever discontinue it I'll be royally screwed because my undertone doesn't exist in a foundation.
I rarely comment but just realized that Angelica is one of the very few bloggers that I still watch and watch every single video Lots of love and thanks for your work❤
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for your honesty about Pat McGrath! Yeah the quality is okay, yeah the they are easy to work with but I could say the exact same thing about ColourPop so why the expensive price!!!? I don't get it. She use to be like, "Wow, I have never seen anything so beautiful!" Now, it's like, "That looks cheap for the price!"
Hi Angie ✨️ I'm pausing the video to say that I really appreciate everything you do to create your content. I'm just thinking about the time you spend to plan everything, rate all the products, try new products, try to use the right settings for your camera, setting everything up, trying to maintain a social life, still spending time with your family, dogs and doing selfcare by reading new books and gaming and going on a lil vacay every now and then. WOW. Just wow. YOU ARE APPRECIATED ANGIE ❤️❤️❤️
I 100% agree about the Oden’s eye singles! I bought the entire collection and the formulas vary GREATLY! They are all beautiful don’t get me wrong, but a distinction between if they are a shimmer, topper, duo chrome, multi chrome, glitter etc. would be helpful! Some are as smooth as butter and some are very flakey…thus need more finesse such as a glitter glue or wet application!
My issue with the Nabla concealer was it was too hard to find a shade match that no matter how I “fixed” it, it looked off. I like how it felt on the face, blending was seamless… but again the wrong shade can age you in ways that make you cry lol
This is probably the weirdest request - have you ever done a makeup video for brides? In my case, mother-of-the- groom. I love colour (obsessed with all your makeup creations - so talented) and would love to see what I could do that would still be appropriate.
I just don't understand why people get upset when someone dislikes something they like. I don't get it. I would never think that I'm so special and important that my preferences are the only preferences. If everyone liked the same thing all the time, life would be boring. Everything would be the same. I just can't imagine myself thinking how dare someone not like what I like and think how I think. 🤣🤣🤣 Especially in a world that's pushing acceptance.
I love and live for how considerate you are to those who are mean. I think it's funny how mad people get because you don't like something but get mad if you're not honest. People are......they just are these days. I'll leave it at that lol
Revlon ColorStay products are some of my ride or dies. They have a light, medium, and full coverage in the foundation. I also love the powder, primer, and concealer. Their bullet lipsticks in the all black package are timeless. My lips are naturally dry and they are creamy without being like a gloss and with blotting I can get several hours worth of wear, even with drinking tea.
so same! I've work colorstay foundation since HS and I graduated in 1997 xD I've strayed and tried a ton of others, but always fo back. The new formulation with vitamin E is awesome!
My favorite product from revlon is the oil control volcanic stone roller. It is great for getting ride of oil throughout the day and it does not disturb the makeup underneath.
I put the Mac fix+ into an empty Pixie spray bottle because that one has fine mist spray. I'm with you about PMG, I keep buying her palettes hoping to be blow away but they're just ok.
Hi Angie! I really like watching your videos and love hearing your thoughts and reviews. I think the mic was a teeny bit too far away from you in this video. I couldn't hear you as clear as normal but you sounded clearer when you leaned forward for a moment near the beginning of the video. Take care 🙂
Revlon’s lip oils are really great. Their light weight colour stay foundation with SPF is also really great. Their traditional bullet lipsticks especially reds are phenomenal and iconic for a reason. My bus sister swears by many of their mascaras too. I wore their colourstay powder foundation for many years. It was brilliant for my oily teenage skin
The liquid lipstick from Revlon in the black packaging is my favorite lip product of all time. They have so many colors and the formula lasts 8+ hours with eating and drinking. I get compliments all the time wearing them - and my fav shade is Holy Pumpkin. It is a muted pumpkin shade, more nude but the more you layer the more orange appears. My not-so-humble opinion is it is the best formula currently available.
The Satin Ink lipsticks, I love those! The nude shade I bought (Your Go-To) stains hot pink, which I hate, but the red ones I have are amazing. They're not bulletproof and they can get a little sticky but they wear really well, are very comfortable and don't transfer, which I love.
@@xxSeishuku they’re not bulletproof with anything oil-based like salad dressing, which breaks down much faster, but everything isn’t an issue for me. And it’s interesting that you noticed the stickiness with that shade, I’ve had all mine since they launched and the only issue I had was that one started leaking but I stored it sideways which isn’t recommended for the packaging they use. I try to not layer it to much, just go in with as little as possible so it dries down faster. Once it’s dry it last pretty much all day on me which I love.
@@danicee yeah, I wore a dark red one for like 12 hours and I ate a few times but I do think I only reapplied twice. And funny enough about the stickiness, I bought a Maybelline Vinyl Ink today and it's waaaay stickier than the Revlon one. The Revlon one for me only gets a teeny bit tacky on the inside rim after a few hours of wear. Also one of my Revlon ones leaked too, it was the frustrating nude shade so I didn't care much but now I'm wondering whether I should figure out how to store them vertically cause I don't want my other ones to leak :/
I agree with you about the Oden's eye singles needing a more specific description for sure! Other than that, I'm actually loving them and I'm not usually a singles girl either but they are beautiful! I think because I've never owned many multichromes before, it feels a bit more novel to me. I just think the shades are really interesting and I'm constantly mixing them in with my palettes
Finally got the Strawberry Shortcake palette (originally wasn’t going to get it but Heather made me start thinking about it) I went to order the ice cream dream pastel palette and since I realized I didn’t have enough pinks or greens in my collection, I finally decided to get it. The shimmers are so stunning, so unique to my huge eyeshadow collection and I love the mattes as well! Been using it with your palette to create looks the last couple days and I’ve loved every one! I commented on one of Heather’s instagram photos saying that I usually use your code, so I used hers this time to get them ❤ ps my 4 year old was sick today so she had to go home from preschool early, when I was getting ready with both your palette and the SS palette, she’s like “Mama, where’s my eyeshadow?” and I let her choose a color and she wanted the pastel yellow and the green shimmer in your palette. When I put them on and she saw the cute little look on herself, she said she loved the colors and it made her feel better haha 😊
Candid concealer from Revlon is my absolute favourite! I have tried so many high end and drug store and nothing beats that one. I am 43 and have mature- obviously- skin and some fine lines. Nothing, not even Lancôme beats that one- try it you really won’t regret it! ( my skin is normal to dry )❤❤❤❤
Angie I agree completely with your #1 highlighter by CT❤🎉 It's STUNNING on mature skin🙌🏼 I loved it so much I bought 2 shades🥰 It's hard to reach for any other one with how beautiful the CT looks🌸
I love what you said about Pat McGrath. I enjoy Star Wars but I know I have to be mindful about my purchases and the collab with Pay McGrath seems like an afterthought…and that hurts. There is so much that good quality brands can do in terms of creativity. Why waste it on stickers? Most eyeshadow palettes I buy are from indie brands. The quality is good and I’m supporting a small business. So I love following your channel to get a better sense of the quality of makeup they make with new launches. I also appreciate that you actually reuse your palettes throughout the year. It is a good example of being mindful with money.
I think Colourpop’s matte with shimmers are so pretty to look at and in general so pretty on the eyes and also in my opinion Colourpop’s matte with shimmers is there to help matte shadows perform better cuz most of the matte with shimmers in Colourpop palettes are pastels maybe Colourpop struggles with pastels which pastels are a pain in the ass to formulate maybe that’s why Colourpop’s pastels have shimmers in them cuz it makes it easier for Colourpop to formulate pastel matte eyeshadows 🤔
So much good stuff in your video! I bought the maracuja lippie based on your review and I really love it. I look forward to wearing it. I havent given my other hundred lip sticks/glosses a wear since I got this one. The Glaminatrix palette looks so good but is sold out.. ohh well.
I have had the Not Normal palette for about a week and your eye look made me think of how I could recreate something similar using that palette. So funny to see you actually used it! Absolutely love the cool tones on you. I also like the CP matte with shimmer formula, especially for lighter shades. 😉
You're my favorite beauty influencer which is funny because I have blonde hair, gray eyes, cool, sensitive, normal skin but you are entertaining, educational and I love that you love color on your eyes! I'm not into nudes and you rule! 🥰 Have a great day!
So funny that other than you, I haven’t heard a single good thing about the Charlotte Tilbury highlighter on RU-vid hahaha! Such different preferences, it’s so interesting!
CT highlighter, Kalideos powder and flower concealer going on the shopping list!! Thanks!!! I love the LA girl mixers, I've got white and blue. So useful
Revlon's classic lipsticks (moisturising) are a gem, their pressed face powder is great, their highlighter is awesome and their colour stay foundation is good too.
Revlon super lustrous matte lipstick! Especially in 002 Spiced Cocoa…I think you will like that color. These are comfortable and do not end up all over the place…it pretty much stays put but is not drying at all…I love it. Hot Chocolate in this same line is nice too. 💜💜
I was thinking to tell you how beautiful your skin look in this video. I thought I was the only one that was not a Pat McGrath formula fan. agree with you on it. ❤
Ange! I agree with you totally on the Pat McGrath Star Wars collection. I bought all three of the quints and the Carnal Desire lipgloss. And the lipgloss is my favorite thing from it. I did however buy the Midnight Sun Star Wars edition from a seller I know locally for only $70. And since I wanted that palette anyways it was a deal. The sticker is in my opinion gawdy... I wear the lipgloss constantly though, and I have previously not been a gloss kind of girl, so that says something to me.
I just love your videos!! I love how you keep things real. You tell it how it is!! Great video as usual. I dont own any of what you mentioned. Been on a low buy but I see a few things I really would like to try!! Thank you. 😊 Have fun at Disney!!
I tried the L'oreal Telescopic Lift mascara. My lashes looked great, long and thick, BUT my lashes felt very hard, stiff and uncomfortable. I also find the brush dangerous. I gave myself a corneal abrasion with that awful weapon of a brush! P.S. I love the eye makeup you are wearing in this video.
I have the Nabla concealer and the first times I used it, I hated it. But now, I'm getting more into it. It's true what you say about being pretty creamy but because I have very dry undereyes that creaminess works for me. Of course, I have to avoid using too much product because it will crease , but with a small amount, it's not bad. I'm happy that I have found a way too use it, because I really thought I would have to get rid of it.
If you’re looking for a hydrating lipstick, Revlon has Super Lustrous Glass Shine Lipstick, which is super moisturizing and glossy and comes in tons of colors! If you haven’t tried the original L’Oréal Telescopic, I’d recommend trying that. I’ve always loved that one. It gives great length and separation. I LOVE Bad Gal Bang and L’Oréal Telescopic (the original) is the closest drugstore one I’ve ever found to it IMO. I tried the newer Telescopic and it was fine but not anything like the original IMO
Your hair and makeup looks stunning in this video! My cat and I love rewatching your videos every morning and night ❤ your our inspiration thank you for being you ❤
Did anyone else’s Chucky order come in a Chucky promo box instead of plain & regular shipping box with the promo box inside?? I just got SO judged by my mail delivery person and my roommate 😂
Unfortunately no, I just got the palette, and only the palette box came. It was really amazingly packaged well tho. It was like the “Fort Knox” of tape 😂 Sephora and Ulta just don’t care, a little brute strength is all you need to pop them open. I did have to get the biggest mailbox I could find tho, recently.
Mine came in the chucky promo box and I was so happy because now I can store all my Halloween palettes I collected last year in it. Maybe it depends on how much you ordered. I got the lipsets and the strawberry dream palette also.
revlon is one of favorite drugstore brands. Most of their products are reliable, I always go back to them, specially their foundations, powders, and lip sticks/lip gloss. They recently came out with a new foundation
I'm not sure why, but I never really fell in like with colourpop shadows. Maybe, I didn't try the right palette. But, the color story of the Aurora struck is so gorgeous.
I also LOVE the mattes with shimmers from ColourPop. Sometimes the shimmer in them shows up a little more and they look beautiful. Just what I was looking for Forever and they show up in my life. 👍🏼
Me too! I think it’s so pretty and also in my opinion Colourpop’s matte with shimmers is there to help matte shadows perform better cuz most of the matte with shimmers in Colourpop palettes are pastels maybe Colourpop struggles with pastels which pastels are a pain in the ass to formulate maybe that’s why Colourpop’s pastels have shimmers in them cuz it makes it easier for Colourpop to formulate pastel matte eyeshadows 🤔
Try the Revlon Illuminance Skin-Caring foundation, it’s a new foundation and lovely on a girl in her 30s. Other honorable mentions….Revlon skin light highlighter and Big Bad lash mascara.
love your eyeshadow as usual and I think your complexion products look amazing… not too much glow at all edit to add if you want to try more Revlon I think you’ll like their blushes….they are an amazing formula.
Unfortunately the Colourpop Aurora palette is out of stock. It has been out of stock for months. I’ve been on the mailing list, to let me know if it was back in stock 😩 I got all excited from your link because I thought maybe it was back in stock, but it’s not darn it
Hi Angelica, I'm watching some of your videos before I crash for the night. I have to get up early for Easter morning tomorrow. But I just had to comment that I totally agree about what you said about Pat McGrath eyeshadows. Seriously, I have always thought this about Pat McGrath eyeshadows. I bought the first Mothership palette when it came out because of the hype and I must admit it is a beautiful palette and I do love and use it to this day. But since that first release, I have noticed a big difference in formula of the palettes that are not in the traditional Mothership black lacquer compact. The ones that come in cardboard packaging are truly horrible. They say "Made in Italy" but they must be made at the low quality factory down the street from the high quality factory! 🤣 I'm inserting a laughing emoji here, but seriously, it's very upsetting to order from her website, wait forever for her to ship it my package, and then get something that is obviously very low quality, to now recently, see the same product I paid full price for, marked down at T.J. Maxx. Are you seriously kidding me, Pat McGrath? 🤨 It's that kind of disrespect to her customers that really turns me off about her. I own four Mothership palettes which I love, several blushes and highlighters, but I think I'm done. I have wasted too much money on her eyeshadows in the cardboard component and those and every Christmas cardboard palette has been a complete disaster. Customers like myself helped make her a billionaire and obviously, she just doesn't give a damn. It's just a total cash grab at this point. Even her latest Mothership palette was redundant and was one of the first Mothership palettes that I was surprised to see get lackluster reviews on RU-vid. Thank you for being honest because I find that some RU-vidrs just praise every single Pat McGrath product like it's the Holy Grail, and when I watch these videos, I don't even believe these RU-vidrs are talking about the same product that I also bought. I think how can they just lie about something that is so obviously terrible, like the cardboard component eyeshadow palettes? 🤔
I know, another foundation, but the reformulated colorstay foundation with vitamin E from Revlon for oily/combo skin is beautiful. Liked it better than the new good apple and the juvia's place one.
I love the Revlon Skin Lights highlighter it's shimmery without chucks of glitter and is pretty reflective that can be built up but it's not no makeup makeup however it does not have a transparent base
Lethal have indeed been bringing their A-Game recently. Especially their glowy blushes and their most recent multichromes 🥰 The Kaleidos brightening powder is LOVELY. I wear it over the Fenty Soft Matte Pro Filter. Just the two of them. No foundation and no concealer. Looks great and doesn't exacerbate my reactive skin. In fact, on a low effort day I'd add Lethal's Blossom to my high points, do my brows (thank you Nyx Lift & Snatch) and I'm out the door. Feeling confident and looking awake 😆
I do exactly that with sprays I love but the mist isn't a mist it's like standing in the rain, the Pixie sprays are very fine and wonderful and I pour other thing's in them and it works perfectly
ELF does a lovely fine sprayer too. I'm using up the contents, then I'll be dumping my Fix+ into the ELF bottle. It's been hanging around as I hate the sprayer on it 😆 My rebuy though, will be more of the ELF, as it's cheaper and I can't tell the difference
For Revlon I love the ColorStay Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick. It is not matte but it also is not sticky. Liquid lipsticks tend to be uncomfortable on me and I have dry lips and yet this is my go to if I want something lasting but don't want to have to worry about flaking/peeling or feeling it the whole time. It also wears beautifully - seems to just fade evenly. (Note, I am not using any of the dark shades). I assume it is similar to the Vinyl Ink my Maybelline but I have just stuck with this one since it works for me.
Your eyes are STUNNING!!! Love the look today it makes your eyes just pop!!! Also totally agree with the new L’Oréal mascara, it crumbled terribly on me and it got into my eyes >.< the og telescopic doesn’t do that !
Hi Angie! From Loreal you have to try their Infallible paints metallics single eyeshadows. They are extremely pigmented!!! I’d love to see your opnion. Love your channel! 💜💜💜
