It was very funny but it wasn't Joan Crawford. It was Alyssa Edwards as Faye Dunaway, as Joan Crawford, as Alyssa Edwards. PixelPixelBoom did a video on it.
@@thecowboyofdrag Doesn't matter. How many times have we seen a queen succeed even though their impression wasn't spot on? Sometimes giving a ridiculously inaccurate impression makes it funnier. The goal is to be funny and make Ru laugh, not be a master impersonator. Take Jessica Wild's Rupaul for example.
@@cole7726 I think that yes you have to be funny, but you also have to impersonate the caracter. For example, Kandy was so funny but wasn’t Patrick Starr, that’s why she was safe.
I think a big redemption was Monique Heart. When the cast got announced “fans” were already calling her an early out queen and saying she wasn’t competition but look at what she did on All Stars :)
@@ombrenightcores4153 I would of prefered Monique over monet in the final 2 vs Trinity. For me shes just a much more realised queen with much better, unique looks.
Tatianna is one of my favourites. She was that girl on season 2, but on All Stars 2 she was just SO funny, and she showed us that she had so much talent underneath that mouth
Jaremi Carey is such a good person, there a few queens that did as much for the cause as him. I mean the money he raised for Puerto Rico alone is astonishing... It's so sad to see that the fandom and frenchise still treat's him like shit.
@@nicholascummings8088 she did. Hearing she was on the waitlist for every season of AS made fans want her so badly on the show.. her time on AS5 made it seem her in the waitlist was valid.
@@Jays6926 its as though Ongina spent 100% of her time preparing for Drag Race on her incredible runway looks ALONE. there was NOTHING going on personality or characterwise and it was so disappointing. Even her reads were not on the level of the other queens, like Elliott this season
True, but it sucks how much she seemed to hate the experience and how the fandom turned her off from performing as a drag queen anymore. It was like seeing a struggling musician you were rooting for finally go platinum and then decide to quit music. Im glad she’s happy with her new endeavors though.
I think Kennedy had a lot to prove. She admitted in the first episode that she was bitchy on her season and how much it bothered her that fans didn't want to go to her booth during Drag Con. I think that she wanted to prove that she is likeable and I feel like she achieved what she set out to do.
With Roxxxy I feel like, personality-wise, she definitely redeemed herself but she did a lot better in the actual competition the first time around. I would say the opposite is true of Alaska. In season 5, she performed well but was inconsistent, then coming into AS2 she was a lot more polished, killed nearly every challenge, but was so set on getting the crown, she came across quite unlikeable in the personality department.
I'M sorry, but I'm still pretty mad how the painted Jaremi (Phi Phi) as a heartless monster, yes she did have a clash with alyssa, but I'm pretty confident they cut his best moments.
It's more than obvious that production wanted to give him the villain again, besides the whole thing with Alyssa and the mirror thing, Jaremi (Phi Phi) didn't really do anything shady or evil
May I add how they make Phi Phi seem like a saboteur when all she want is to help Roxxy? Like the dampers crew gathers around them, sat them down, and add shady edits and others shady commentaries
Like Naomi did such a good rudemption. She somehow made great looks even better, She redeemed her snatch game, Played the best game there and slayed 2 more lip syncs
I definitely think that Kennedy had an amazing rudemption arc as well! She wanted to show that she is not just a bitter old lady who happened to get far during her season, and I think she definitely did that. She was pretty likable to me in AS3 and made it all the way to the top 2, and I think she is a lot less overlooked now than she was before her stint on all stars.
I dunno, I felt bad for her getting to top 2 and everyone saying it should have been Shangela instead - when if she stayed as top 3, everyone would have just recognised that as a well-deserved and big achievement. She and Shangela both got screwed over by that, and Trixie to some extent too as her win was seen by some as invalid, because she hadn't had to face off with Shangela. I felt it was a sad twist for all of them, but probably worst for Kennedy.
strongest redemption for me was Tati, in coming from "good for an early season but basic" to giving us one of the most iconic performances in drag race herstory and becoming (in my book) a superstar
i think farrah managed to get a pretty good redemption in ep2 alone, or at least she was redeemed for me ! idk she was actually really mature in that whole drama with gia and it made me like her a lot more
Episode 2 redeemed her episode 1. I don't think she really needed a rudemption from s9 but it didn't ruin her either as that farrah vs gia fight was iconic
naomi actually revealed her and latrice made an alliance off camera so naomi was gonna save her over manila so in a way latrice wasn't as worried about manila as manila was worried about her sometimes we have to learn some people will only drag us down no pun intended and manila can't blame herself anymore it's all stars 4 not 1 new beginnings it's time to focus on you not latrice
Yes, I loved Latrice so much but when she came I was sad because I never thought she'd come back with an entirely different attitude, like not as humble as she was on her DR season and AS1. I noticed as well that she was no where's near as emotional over Manila, and it's messed up because Latrice's drag hasn't even evolved that much and she didn't do as well as Manila, but kept trying to blame her challenge failures on everyone else but herself! The Latrice that Valentina adores is the Latrice from back in the day, but hearing her tell another queen that she would save Latrice no matter what, made me cringe? On "Hey Qween!" when Latrice was blaming editing and what production was telling her to do, I was thinking "Every single second of the show is not edited, fans who adore certain queens can tell that ur disposition is not the same way it used to be!"
@@faithruckdeschel1294 If you pay attention to the way it's edited, they gave her a shady noise every time she breathed, and there's a lot of different ways to frame a scene that can make things look very different. They can't add words to your mouth, but they can change the context. Top RPDR videos has a good video about the shady edits, I suggest you check it out. Calls out what they did to Max too, and the magical teleporting Katya.
i was weirded out Mera and Scarlett forgot about Alexis mostly on AS5 where she was riding solo. on AS1 i feel like only pandora, mimi and shannel had to prove something; everybody else was just _in it to win it._ on AS5 i feel that Alexis proved that she was up to par with the younger gals in more than 1 lane (minus the I'm in love challenge which was cringe in every sense of the word💀🥴) and well India deadass used Destiny Bond on her and got her eliminated the week right after she did, otherwise i firmly believe she would have placed 4th. and had it been a "regular all stars season" i think she could have been top 2 for variety show and snatch game (her walter mercado was funnier than jujubee's eartha kitt, sue me).
I actually really don't think Mayhem came back with a good attitude. I was excited to see her, but there seemed to be a sort of "sarcastic cynical attitude" lingering around her.
I’m not trying to be shady or rude but Roxxy spent the WHOLE of AS2 in the bottom. Just makes me struggle to view her time there as a rudemption just because I felt SO BAD for her the entire time, like for all we know she was ready and detox and Alaska really just kept saving her ass lmao again I love roxxy it’s just ironic to see her AS run as a Rudemption when she was far more successful competitively in season 5. But Milk and Latrice I think got the worst showings both had their reputations affected by their times on all stars.
@@vladaimpaler that’s why I said “for all we know she was ready to go” lmao I’m not mad it’s just hard for me to see someone who killed their first season to consistently struggle challenge after challenge in all stars as a rudemption but I also understand she showed her true personality in all stars so 🤷♂️
i feel like mayhem was actually not rudeemed at all, she felt very underwhelming on the season and made me question why she was on ALL STARS in the first place, even thooouuughh (!) she IS an ALL STAR :(
Pandora knew she had been set up, again, by the show. I dont blame her for just wanting out immediately. It was santino that had it in for pandora and went out of his way to diss her.
You did Ginger dirty by forgetting she was also on All Stars right after her season (you said it was only Katya). But even Ginger jokes about her really being on All stars even if people don't remember her. (Also, in All Stars 1 all season 4 queens, Latrice and Chad, where also brought back right after their season?)
Am I the only one that noticed that the queens who win Miss Congeniality on their original seasons that come back for All Stars, with the exception of Nina, Monet, Yara, Katya, and Dela, usually get the edit of being "bitchy" or having an overinflated ego their second go around?
We have only had 8 miss cons back. Yara her edit was fine. Pandora was sent home episode 1. Nina flowers had an alright edit but was sent home episode 2 not really bitchy. DeLa had the best run and the only thing that could be bitchy is the whole elimination. Katya's edit was fine. Valentina's edit was her little tel a no Vela fantasy. Monet won and had a good edit. So really the only bitchy miss coco was Latrice. Plus fun fact Ivy and Cynthia are the only 2 original 2 miss congenialities to not return and now Nina west and Heidi but those are because newer seasons
@@ait8551 Actually, Coco didn't had a bitchy edit... she was quite bitchy on S5 already. I think that she was tuned down. The only one with bitchy edit was Latrice and Valentina (but not that much imo)
Tatiana had a great RuDemption. Successfully introduced herself to newer generations of drag race and starred in one of the most iconic lip syncs. I would have also commented about Kennedy on AS4, she had a good run and I loved her lip sync.
I didn’t expect them to describe her like the edit forced us to see her. I just loved most of her outfits and she sets the bar high as the other girls. AS2 would not be THE GREAT AS2 without her.
I think the biggest rudemption would actually be Trixie. Like on her season she got an edit which was like "I'm a comedy queen who sucks at comedy" and was 6th getting twice eliminated. On All Stars first she figured out the makeup and second slayed the back half of the season. I mean yeah she was the third best in that top 4 but like that's I think a great improvement from her initial placement (though you can argue that there were higher expectations on her because of the things she's done in the real world and the level of celebrity she acquired but I digress). I also think Latrice got the worst edit because of just how beloved she was and how unlikable she came off as but I'm glad she can still prove that out there she is the stunning miss congeniality we remember.
Awwww coco was forgotten, I really wish I saw more of her on all stars, she couldn’t do her Janet number and it messed it up, would have liked to see more of her
@@tyagohiee in 7 weeks, Trixie had 2 wins and 2 bottoms, with one of the bottoms only due to everyone not in the top, being there (final 5 bring back episode) and then she won. In 9 weeks, Monique had 3 wins and 2 bottoms, again with one of the bottoms being because the bring back queen episode, with 2 more weeks to win things than Trixie did and then didn't advance to the finals. I stand by my statement #factsarefacts
@@kennymcburney Nope, actually, Ruapaul said it himself, lipsync for your legacy: Top 2. Winning the lipsync: Challenge win. Trixie made it to a finale and won a season without a single challenge win, while Monique had just 1. That means, in season 3, Shangela, Bendela and Bebe were better competition than Trixie, and in season 4 Manila, Trinity and tecnically Monet were better. Yes, they both placed 4th track record-wise, so it's not that much of a lackluster run, but, when you think, and remember Trixie actually won, it is a lackluster track record, being the only winner on Drag Race herstory (aside from Priyanka) who placed 4th based on track records.
@@tyagohiee you're trying argue a different subject matter than the basis of the original post and my reply to it, which referenced Monique having a strong redemption from her first season if basing just on track record, and me replying to it saying it would be comparable to the outcomes of Trixie and Shangela. It's not an opinion up for debate, it's fact.
I was so disappointed Alexander I Got a notification for the BBC introducing two of the Queens and then when I clicked on it said they're not showing it in this country. 3 just came up on Wow TV and they're not showing those girls either I wonder what's going on. I hope they're not going to be keeping all their information on Wow Plus.
As I understand it a major reason for the controversies of the earlier untucked was that they often where drunk as skunks. Being on their feet in front of strong and warm tv-lights gave dehydration and then they where given strong drinks instead of water. In later season they watered down the drinks conciderably.
Monique redeemed herself so much I was mad they gave the win to monet instead. Monique is still wanna the best for me. But there's no denying how hard monet hit the ground running since her win.
Biggest rudemption is probably aja tatianna. They both evolved so much cosmetically. They both were able to lipsync and showcase their talents. They both were on the top for the talent show.
I think roxxxy had one of the best rudemption in terms of the villain edit BUT I hate what it did to her reputation (amongst drag race fans atleast, queens ofcourse love her). I read somewhere that Alaska thought she was placed in the bottom so often so she'll break and be the villain for the second half and whether or not Alaska did say that I think thats what the producers were doing. Most of her bottom placements imo were just unfair or by default (especially for the makeover)
The hypocresy of celebrating the edit of Gia while saying PhiPhi is the worst. I mean, yeah, she play the villian in certain way but girl she was put in that role, the production and the edit make her seem to be as a bad person and the reality is she was just asking for a fair competition
Hope it’s not disrespectful, but Chi Chi didn’t shine as much as she had in her first season. I’d dare say that Valentina lost her spot as the one to beat as the episodes went down, while Monique became stronger and stronger.
She smartly manipulated everyone, I’m not sure if it was intentional on her side, but she definitely played people’s emotions, and walked away a winner.
I'd say Shannel came in looking for Rudemption b/c even though she was great on season one, she never won a main challenge and was often overlooked by the judges so in All Stars 1 she didn't have anything to prove to the fans but rather the judges.
I never left a comment, but the reason why untucked changed drastically was because Early seasons were supplied with alcoholic drinks later seasons had to heavily water them down or removed them altogether
Snatch game redemptions are so interesting. Tatianna and Pandora were at the top of the original snatch games, but were eliminated in the same challenge on all stars. Kylie on the other hand went home on the first snatch game and redeemed herself on all stars (should have won it, imo especially for storyline purposes) Also worth mentioning Alyssa, considering that her snatch game performance is probably the reason immunity was never brought back for season 6 onwards. She really was good in her all stars snatch game
The fact that Blair wasn’t in the bottom for SheMZ still blows my mind because as you said, she wasn’t needed (and didn’t really do anything) in that scene 😅
My daughter and I, have always felt that Alexis was/is a better queen than what she's given credit for, especially with the judges(Michelle being one)because even when she did better than other queens, it seemed as if they would suddenly create some type of flaw or mistake that was supposedly keeping Alexis back from ever winning! The 2 first times that she was on the show, I felt the things that was repeatedly said about Alexis and Yara Sofia's PR accents was BS and just the other remaining girls feeling threatened? They was counting on the 2 girls with the accents understanding what the challenges called for, and thought of them as easily being dismissed? I think the treatment Alexis got on the show previously made her paranoid especially, with how she snapped at Miz Cracker (who wasn't even talking about Alexis)when she was discussing something else? About that "trying to get Shea outta here" debacle, I feel like Alexis was playing smart because at least she knew Shea was their biggest competition, she didn't count on the other girls being so "let's be bffs, braid each other's hair, and make friendship bracelets" by not voting Shea off. Then again the competition was always planned for her to win and get her rudemption....saw that one coming as soon as I found out she was competing.
I just want to say even though I'm sure you know this you just didn't want to get too into detail but Ben eliminating herself had nothing to do with her having to send a girl home every week. She said herself in an interview she came into All Stars to simply prove that she could do it, not to Ru or her fans but she wanted to prove to herself that she could win the competition. The day before her elimination it like hit her that she wasn't really there for the crown like the other girls were she was just there to validate herself and she did that. Once she achieved her goal she didn't think it was right for her to steal the title and crown from the Queens that cared more about it than she did, especially since she knew she would be the winner if she stayed after all her wins in a row. And with Thorgy I whole-heartedly believe the show and it's producers rigged her in that Musical especially considering she did all the correct Stevieisms and yet the judges had nothing but hate for her and her acting while Bebe literally did the exact same thing with her character except she LITERALLY BARELY MOVED FROM HER SPOT ON THE STAGE and yet she got nothing but praise for being the perfect Diana.
I just love watching you Mera! I hope you’ll be in drag race in the next 3-4yrs and will be just supporting you all the way ❤️ i hope you’ll have the best confessionals cuz you’re soooo entertaining ❤️ sending you love from the Philippines ❤️
I just watched the queens who didn’t like the edit video you guys did and watching this made me think of how Ginger/Kennedy were the Bitter Old Lady Brigade, but production edited out how Katya was technically in it with them. She mentions it briefly in one Untucked, but you never see it anywhere else probably to give Katya a more favorable edit. I mean, she does have some reads, but they play it as the joke that it is instead of all of the shade noises and reactions that Ginger/Kennedy/Mrs. Kasha Davis/Jasmine got. Arguably Katya is different in that she kind of floats through different groups and friendships, even ending up friends with Violet.
I would argue otherwise, considering they both won 3 times and 1/3 lip-sync wins - and while technically Monet was "low" one week, it's the same outcome as "safe". Also, the final challenge where Monet was "bottom" and Monique won, there were only 5 people left. Regardless, we all know Trinity had the ultimate track record haha
Mera - This was the first video of yours where I saw you out of drag. It was good to see the real person under all the makeup. When are you going to see YOU on RuPaul's show? You are a well-spoken person, you'd make a great contestant. :-)
This is a great episode. As an aside, I am always chuffed to bits when a beautiful queen ends up being even cuter out of drag! I am glad the RU-vid algorithm showed me you all.
Well I was rooting for Miz Cracker on All Stars! Jujubee and Shea were awesome too, but Miz Cracker had the best track record and I loved her. Well from the beggining Shea was supposed to win, but that DOESNT MEAN she didnt deserve it.
I definitely I would throw Tatianna in the mix in terms of biggest Rudemption. She came in with everyone pretty much discounting her, and thinking she was a filler and then absolutely SLAYED with what is still considered among the best variety show performance, in addition to serving one of the very best LSFYL in Drag Race Herstory. If it weren’t for a sequins top, she could have potentially made it into the top 4, and we all would have been served with an iconic verse! That said, folks were really galvanized by her elimination and her popularity rose even more. Stan Tati. *Thank you*
That's what I love about drag race. You can be a fierce queen that can turn out a lip sync, but be bad at the format (Brita, Coco Montrese, Cheryl Hole). In other instances, you can have a personality with a unique look that's not necessarily polished, and use Drag Race and its format to propel yourself (Alaska).
