And to think this is on the complete opposite side of the World, but not a World Cup tournement, not even a cup final, but in a flipping friendly! What a special moment indeed for those fans! And even though I'm an Arsenal man, this vid is something I've enjoyed numerous of times. Since that famous club was founded, all the highs & lows, those years of achievements, of tradegy meant that stadium rose like that to them. They say time is the best healer, but time is also the best creator, for there's no 'FF' button on it's tape deck. Here's to Liverpool FC and their Ozzie fans who did them proud.
Yeah, it gets me every time. I 've sung this with the crowd god knows how many times. Nice comment from a Gooner, I wouldn't expect anything less mate. the respect goes both ways. Best of luck next season.
I think people would be suprised just how much Brits mass sing. Its historical before a battle we would sing at each other, so its been happening fo thousands of years. I know this is in Auz but most of the croud will have come from the UK Please please check out Green Day Hyde Park Bohemion Rhapasidy, 65,ooo people who were probably not born when Freddie was alive. Its mind blowing. Also The Proclamers at Hamden in Scotland amazing.
It's now 97 victims of Hillsboro' disaster. Liverpool is my team, I live not far from Anfield Liverpool ground. Our team is in the top four teams in England, plus one of the best in the world.
This song was written in 1945 for the musical Carousal by Rodgers and Hammerstein and first recorded by Frank Sinatra in 1945. The version sang at football matches is very different to how its sang on the stage.
Theres another emotionally charged night in Liverpools rivals evertons stadium when they ask if they can sing it because a everton fan aged 9 was killed ,there wasn't a dry eye in the house that night..
hey girl, to give you some context, this song was always sung with liverpool, but in 1989, there was a disaster at a match with liverpool, its was a cup game, mistakes were made, and 96 fans lost there lives, from children to adults, mistakes were made by the police, these people, along with many injured and the 96 that lost there lives, were crushed to death, its the hillsborough disaster, which makes the song more meaning full now, its a longer story, but you get the drift so every time they sing, its for the 96 lives lost
@@FIGPLAYHOUSE i will comment on everything you do, might make a mistake on purpose lol, which gets the comments going, lol gets you noticed on you tube, keep the british stuff going, get you to 1k subs in no time, as i said, i will keep the comments going, you tube likes that, i know how to keep them going, in a nice way,
"You'll never waik alone" was adopted by Liverpool FC as a result of it being a No.1 hit by Gerry and the Pacemakers, a Liverpool pop group from the same stable as The Beatles... and the so-called Mersey Sound of the 1960s.
Some of the best renditions of anthems are at sporting venues where the pride and the passion are on full display. Particularly at rugby matches. Check out: Welsh anthem (Mae Hen Wlad) at Cardiff Arms Park or the Millennium Stadium. French Anthem (La Marseillaise) at Parc Des Princes. Flower Of Scotland at Murrayfield. Also, if you've never seen it, the New Zealand All Blacks performing the Haka is spine-tingling.
I am a Chelsea fc fan and have been for 57 years since the age of 3, but i have to admit even though I don't like Liverpool fc i have to say that this is the greatest Football anthem of all time, since the Hillsborough Stadium disaster where 97 Liverpool fans were murdered because of the stupid dumb decision to have the FA Cup Semi Final played at Hillsborough Stadium which in my opinion as a Chelsea fan who has been there even three weeks before the FA Cup semi final there that the Stadium was far too old and with an infrastructure that was not equipped, not only for the importance of the game but for the fans especially the Liverpool fans. The game should of been played at Old Trafford Stadium or Villa Park. But the majority of the blame for the deaths and for the injured were the West Yorkshire Police especially the head officer of that day's match. Police Chief Superintendent David Dukinfield was the main person responsible for the murder of 97 Liverpool fans who died well they were crushed or later in hospital due to there injuries. The victims aged from 10 years old to 67 years old Male and Female. You'll never walk alone is now a song about the 97 but also a Remembrance song about the 97, it not only has a deep meaning to it but it is the most important and beautifully song that is always dedicated to the 97. Even though I am a Chelsea fan I also sing this song to commemorate those 97 innocent lives who came from different backgrounds and different ages but were joined together for the love of their Football Club Liverpool. May the 97 Rest in Peace and will never be forgotten by all Football fans. ❤😢💂♂️🇬🇧🏴⚽️💙
Thanks for that, it really means a lot to know that there is still a brotherhood of respect between fans. I wish you , your family and your beloved team well next season... as long as it isn't against us.... respect only goes so far mate. But honestly, true thanks and best wishes.
This was sung in the MCG, or the Melbourne Cricket Ground, 17 000km from Liverpool. This was a pre-season friendly in 2014. Melbourne has a huge, huge Liverpool fanbase. But it's more than a fanbase, it's a family, everyone's there for each other.
The link is, flower, a lot of these people's ancestors would have set sail from Liverpool. Either as migrants looking for a better life. Or convicts "transported" there, with no option. Then, as what they were called "£10 poms", a government assisted scheme whereby the state wanted to populate Aus with folk from anglo saxon stock as an buffer from the migrants from Japan/se asia during the war years. It worked, though the asiatics/middle eastern types are now getting the upperhand, outbreeding ALL. Fact.
Goosebumps eh! Try this one... it's the Scottish Rugby anthem 'O Flower of Scotland' all about defeating the English in a battle. It brings a tear to my eye every time, and I'm English! (It's the Sing along version, with the words so you can join in!) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W8tNgAIh-TI.html
@@FIGPLAYHOUSE Oops - so you did!! You're ahead of me, but good taste! (my version has the words on screen which is handy of you don't know them...I thought I knew them till I just watched it!
