I did a modification to move this pump and filter away from the pool to avoid accidents and tripping hazards.
In this video, Im going to show how to assemble the Bestway Costco pool sand filter and pump.

Man that was a great video! So informative and helpful. Great video matey. Make sure you keep them up, good quality, nice clear speach and very detailed. I have the same filer, its great and find it works a lot better with better flow and ease using the filter balls. There's not really any videos on this filter I found.

I own a 1500 gallon pool. One solar heater warmed the pool by 5 degrees. Easy to set up, great results!

Super helpful. I have been thinking about how to relocate the solar heater pad and was unsure about pressure of the pump and having it elevated but this cleared up all my concerns before attempting to build a shelf and spending the money on it. Thank you very much! Also, I grew up with an inground pool and for some reason I was thinking I had to get only the ribbed type pipes and didn't even think about connecting them to PVC like I used to have in my old pool.

Awesome video 😁 the instructions are awful that it came with for sure! Can I ask how full the filter basket on the pump should be? My pressure is at about 3.5ish but my basket seems low .

Hi thank you. Should be around 90percent. You can try to release some air by slowly unscrewing the cover.

I just set up my pump for the first time. Do I still backwash n rinse even though 1st time. Also do I turn on pump or u leave it off. Also what r the cotton balls for?

Great video. Can I ask how did you connect the pvc directly to the right side of the solar pad. Is that a female adapter to go over the male end of the pad. What size female pvc adapter did you use. Thanks alot

Thanks. Yes it is a female to male of solar pad. I think it was a 2” pvc adapter.

@@don_wynn I had another question. I know the threads are slightly different on the Bestway pool components compared to PVC adapters. Did you find any issues with attaching a Female pvc to the male end of the solar pad. Have you had any leaks? Thanks

@@paulflogeras2309 there was a small leak but I that it is because I didn’t use enough Teflon tape. But it fits without any modifications.

@@don_wynn What about on the return line. I notice you have a long pvc return line going back to the pool and then you attach the flexible pool hose with that orange collar to the pvc. How did you attach the flexible hose to the pvc. Thanks

I would highly recommend that if you’re talking about start of the season. And I think they recommend doing it like once a month( double check). But if you’re talking about just everyday on and off then no.

On the two pump b valves I see that you took those covers off from inside the pool does that allow the hoses to suck in water?

Yes. On the pool itself, those B Ports are not really valves. They're just holes in the side of the pool. Unplugging them allows water down the hoses by gravity.

I notice that I can’t screw the flanges all the way together…I’ve seen other videos and it was the same way just tight enough but it the two flange doest screw all the way together until touching. I hope this helps

I don’t have a video on winterizing. TBH I just left it as is without covering. I just work on vacuuming and getting water to correct levels at opening.

Does the stop of your control valve leaks ?? I tightened my screws but it still leaks water . It leaks when Turning on the pumps. Any recommendations

@Stephanie Johnson Mine did that also and I finally was able to get the top screwed down tight enough to not leak but now i think fr4om the water exploding out sand got inside that part its not supposed to and now i get sand in my pool

Do you happen to know what to do if the filter basket has air in it ? The return jet seems to be very low pressure and I don’t know how to fix it

Turn off the pump and loosen the basket cap slightly without taking it off. You’ll see air leave and may have some water fill up and leak out of the cap so at the point when most of the air is let out, tighten the cap. Hopefully that helps.
