I'm reviewing four micro quadcopters: the BetaFPV Beta 75X, the HappyModel Mobula 7, the Newbeedrone Acrobee, and the Emax Tinyhawk. Why am I putting all four of these into one review? Because each one has its own strengths and weaknesses, and comparing them back to back really brings that out.
-- TABLE OF CONTENTS --
0:00 - Introduction
1:19 - Newbeedrone Acrobee, a "Real Tiny Whoop". What to love and what to hate about them.
2:41 - The rest of the quads in the roundup. What makes the Beta 75X, Tinyhawk, and Mobula 7 different?
6:27 - Acrobee flight test and commentary.
10:25 - Beta 75X flight test and commentary.
13:09 - Emax Tinyhawk flight test and commentary.
16:50 - Mobula 7 flight test and commentary.
21:36 - Final conclusion and recommendation of which quad is right for which situation.

Thanks for this 4in1 review! I have a Mobula7 and really enjoy it outdoors (at least I did until the temperatures dropped, summer greetings to Stew). But I struggle indoors, even on 1S or 2S with throttle limit, especially in angle mode. With the Mob7 being increasingly popular I think a tuning guide would be a nice idea for an upcoming video. Something similar to the Project Mockingbird recommendations (like linear rates and some throttle mixing for yaw) but tailored to 2S Whoops.

Mobula indoors with: throttle mid=~30 throttle expo=60 and you’re done. I find the throttle limit approach doesn’t give you the option for times you might need a quick punch to stop you from either hitting the floor or obstacles.

Another whoop you didnt mention is the ur65/us65/uk65 these guys are so much fun indoors. Brushless so they are not going to wear out as fast as a brushed and 1s with pretty good flight times and power. Run it with a project mokingbird tune and its even more amazing. Great video as always.

In pro automotive racing you have different cars for different kinds of tracks. I worked in NASCAR for 10 years and we had 10 different designed chassis to use depending on the track. Cars look the same but depending on which track they are going to be on dictates how you build the car. Makes sense for kwads. Great video.

Jb awesome review. I have the 65x, 75x I modded to a HD whoop and the emax. You are pretty spot on but.......Put the Tinyhawk on project mockingbird settings and you may feel differently about it particularly inside and a racing standpoint. Just try it. Qreacher did a fantastic job with that tuning and made me say I will never buy another brushed again.

Great review JB! I have the Tinyhawk and Mobula7 and agree with everything you've said here about them. Right now, I'm all about the Mobula7. It's more fun outdoor (acro/2S) but I feel I have way more control on an indoor whoop track (stab/1S). I've read in the comments here about the "mockingbird" tune so now off the see if that helps my Tinyhawk fly better. Thanks for doing what you do!

I just want to say Josh that you are one of the best contributors to RU-vid. I saw a recommendation for an FPV video (mr Steele I think ) one month ago and I just knew I had to try this hobby. I searched ‘learn FPV’ and your videos popped up, today I flew my micro around the backyard for a whole 1s lipoHV battery without crashing. ONE MONTH from learning about the hobby to a full battery FPV flight. You’re amazing! I couldn’t have figured out all the gear I needed this quick and worked out OpenTX, Betatlight, Pids ETC. thank you!!! Edit: Oscar Liang’s resources on his website are also invaluable

I have gotten the m7 3 months ago and since i have never touched my 6s 5 inch or my 3s 2 inch again. It just works, its versatile, powerful, fun, it really doesnt bother anyone if I fly in a park per say, and mostly its damn near indestructable and the replacement parts are cheap. Like 4 Bucks for a complete frame on banggood. 10/10 for me

Excellent and informative as always and totally on the money. I will say I am flying my 2 inch homebrew rather than my mobula7. The mobula7 flies probably better than all my quads. Maybe it's the betaflight 4.0 it comes with but eventually you get sick of doing another frame transplant and just go with the trusty 2 inch wrapped in carbon.

Great video, Joshua. Thanks especially for the honest evaluation of the TinyHawk. I own one and have come to the same conclusion as you; they’re great for cruising, but not so great at everything else. That being said, I’m not a TinyHawk hater. There are times when I just feel like some relaxing cruising about and for that I enjoy my TinyHawk. For everything else? The Mobula7.

Good review!!!! I lovef lying brushed whoops and I own several. Also a Beecore with 7mm motors. Flies great. However since I have a Mobula 7 I don't fly the brushed that often anymore. On the M7 I've set the throttle scale in BetaFlight to 75% and it flies very controlable. And still I experience the exitement of 2S. I have no exprerience with the BetaFPV and Tinyhawk but I don't feel the need to buy them....

another great review. I'm loving how professional your video editing is becoming looks really good. I Why didnt you also compare or mention your BetaFPV Meteor 65mm 1s Brushless Whoop? Seems like it would have been a better option to compare to the other brushless whoops. Also I hear the Mobula 6 1s Brushless Whoop is the best 1S brushless whoop to date. It would be cool if you could compare that to one of these induxtrix "king" of 1s Whoop racing. I cant belive that a 1s brushed quad is better at anything compared to a 1s brushless Whoop like the Meteor 65 or Mobula 6. I would love to see the brushed induxtrix dethroned.

Had this quad for over 3 years now and I’ve never broke the frame or a motor and I really beat the crap out of it outdoors and in the sand when I was deployed to Kuwait and she kept on running even in 120+ F heat lol. Great video was very informative on the tinywhoop styles and was thinking about a 1S type whoop for indoors.

Josh you're great, love your videos. I don't think you gave tinyhawk enough credit - if you use Mockingbird settings and fly angle for racing its quite good. At least thats what i thought. Saying that, i love the design of the tinyhawk since prop loss is 0 after a ton of flying so can't wait for the 2s version. Cheers!

Nice review. One big question with these little quads is flight time. Some of them are pretty tragic (under 2 mins), whereas others can make 4 mins or so (depending on flying style of course). From a practical POV if you have dog hairs around in your house then the shafts on brushed motors clog up with hairs pretty easily if you crash behind/under furniture! I like a 75mm 1S brushless indoors although I agree that 65mm brushed is a bit easier for precision flying.

Hello Joshua. Great job! Thank you for the round up. You should try Unicorn 25500kv motors and My lipo HV 255mah 1s batteries on the Acro whoop. I've tried it and it changed the whole game. I would never believe if someone just told me but after trying them out... Wow! That thing is ballistic. Super fast throttle response (for a whoop) and yes it can recover way faster from flips and rolls. It's a beast! Give it a go and see what you think. Thank you.
