Years and years ago, a man by the name of the Proto Mutant sat on the glorious Nuclear Throne as he took his final breath. The few mutants who return from the palace say they can hear his raspy, weak breathing as he walks towards the Throne, tired from the long journey behind him, and ready to accept death as if it were a Christmas present. They also hear what sounds like footsteps from behind them and a man's scratchy voice say, "you're almost there..." in a strange, but somehow understood foreign language to them. And when they turn around, nothing is there. Could it be the insanity of the mutants, almost to the point of breaking their minds and becoming madmen, such as Lil Hunter, messing with them? Or has the Proto Mutant's spirit been watching you, guiding you, protecting you from above this whole time?
Something about all the B Themes just gives the game a much more sinister approach and it makes it feel like a true scary waste land and not a fun house to shoot things. It gives the game a sense of desperation. Desperation to reach the Throne.
everytime I hear the b theme for scrapyard,palace, and frozen city all I can imagine is the character I'm playing as either humming,playing a guiter,or in some cases listening to music on headphones as they either bleed out to death,heal up,or take a snack break as every enemy is dead and the characters just looking for weapons and ammo,for example,sometimes I imagine Steroids wounded,bleeding,listening to his favorite song as he tries to find a medkit or two,or Crystal where I imagine them cracked,chipped,full parts of them is broken off completely,and their shield just like Crystal,as they hum away hoping to find medkits and ammo and weapons or die trying,Crystal keeps shielding,hearing whispers of the crystal enemies he had to kill saying "why cousin?","come on beat up those green idiots",and even a manly voice shouting "CRYSTAL GET UP STOP BEING A WIMP OR I'LL DISOWN YOU IN THE AFTERLIFE!" and Crystal saying "o-ok paps" and then spotting a super flak cannon across the room,however it's guarded by horror (the evil one obviously) and crystal using hammerhead to get around him and get some health and the weapon,crystal pulls the trigger and insta-kills horror because of scarier face,then crystal finally arrives at the throne finding a super bazooka in the weapon chest,and getting ready to beat the throne,but,then they hear something,a voice saying softly "careful,I've fought this thing before" it was lil hunter's ghost crystal replies saying "wait then why did you try to kill me?" "because I made a deal with the throne" said lil hunter "well I'd probably do the same" crystal replied,but before they could say another word,the throne awakens!,crystal blows up the generators as fast as possible,while shielding every few seconds,the guardians emerge from their pillars/cages,ready to kill,but crystal fire the super flak cannon at them and the throne,now crystal destroys the generators,and the throne's mad af,shooting a laser right down the middle,crystal dodges it and fires the super bazooka five times,the throne explodes,and for one moment,crystal feels victorious,until the loop portal opens,and now they're fighting throne 2.0,sweating like crazy,crystal fires 20 super bazooka shots at throne 2.0,and finishing it off with 1 super.flak.cannon.bullet,with the throne dead,crystal finally passes away from a heart attack,but gets revived by a mysterious robed figure,it was rebel and her allies,rebel takes crystal back to the others as her allies kill everything around them,they arrive at the campsite where the others are chilling out,fish mistakes rebel for a bandit,steroids and plant hold fish back,rebel tells fish what happened to crystal and that rebel isn't a bandit,Rogue runs over to rebel saying "rebel I missed you girl,what's up?" then notices crystal "oh..." rogue says in disbelief "what happened?" "crystal has beaten the throne,and they need a medkit A.S.A.P." rebel replied,Rogue quickly grabs a medkit from YV because he's rich and hands it to rebel to fix up crystal,they patch up crystal as best as they can,and then crystal wakes up "ugh my head,where am I-...oh hi guys" said crystal "you defeated the throne crystal" rebel said cheerfully "huh,I don't remember doing that" said crystal "oh no...crystal has amnesia...kinda" said rebel and rogue,then for the next few days they adventure through the wastelands together,every single character,rebuilding society slowly and having Crystal rule over the new society,of course it was mostly rebel's allies and big bandit's cousin hiding,being afraid of being mistaken for his cousin,even though he's dead,the end?...maybe

+Bwan They technically have alternates (except for the labs) in the form of the secret areas found there. Such as the pizza sewers and the corrupted crystal caves. Though you could count the music for the technomancer boss fight music, but this doesn't explain why the hyper crystal has its own music.
+Chante Whitehawk The song plays when you're at 1 HP and you reach Palace, but it's said ("Confirmed", my friend said) to be Fish playing his guitar before his death.
