I've been flying a tinyhawk 2 on 2s for the past year and it's amazing. Learning to fly micros definitely helps you fly even better on the bigger birds.

I just received mine, I tend to agree with your perspective that "for a first time fpv pilot to just grab something to fly indoors this is a bit too powerful" I had this same epiphany moments ago. I really anticipated this kit so I could begin flying the sims with this radio, and after the glimpse of it's power/performance... I'm going to be spending a great deal of time developing the pinch. Thanks for the commentary and, spot on review!

2024 Feb: I started FPV with the Tinyhawk III and have had multiple since it's also my dog's toy ;) I recently picked up a Tinyhawk III+ HD, but I fly that with HDZero googles rather than the full RTF kit. Last week, while travelling, I got the FPV itch so purchased a Cetus X RTF kit second-hand. If I'm flying indoors mostly then TH3 is my pick. If I'm flying outdoors in up to a light breeze then I like the extra 2S power of the Cetus X. Camera quality of the Cetus X sucks except in full sunlight. The Cetus frame also scuffs up while the TH3 is more flexible. I do fly the Cetus X indoors, but it needs fine control and a larger space. I have flown the TH3 (and III+HDs) outdoors but they're too light to handle much wind. Range/penetration on the Cetus X also better. Cetus X has a weird combo cam/vtx module which makes the CX easier to repair (two screws and a plugin) but less flexible for alternative parts as the craft's supplies age out.

I started FPV with the Cetus X FPV kit. In my last video from yesterday (Final episode of my very first FPV) at the very end of the video, you can see in a picture what I will do with the parts of the Cetus X soon. (2,0 inch Twiglet Mini 2S). I only had to change the camera and the VTX, because the camera and VTX from the Cetus X are not compatible with the BETAFPV Micro Canopy 2022 that I really want. It would also be possible to use all parts of the Cetux X with the Crux3 canopy, for example, but the VTX would be loose in the canopy or is more difficult to attach and would probably need an insulated foil so that the VTX does not touch other circuit boards... However the advantage with the Crux3 canopy would be that you would be independent of the BETAFPV ecosystem…

I have since 2023-04 an antenna mod video. In my opinion the perfect antenna for the Cetus X FPV kit suitcase and for other quads with a circular antenna ! As an example: If you want to fly another drone with the kit, such as the Happymodel Crux35.

The cetus x vtx antenna is connected with a connector so its easy to upgrade the vtx antenna. Unlike the tinyhawk. 11:10

You can go into betaflight and lower the max throttle to like 70% maybe 60% but thats not technically a beginner thing.

The tinyhawk 3 fpv kit with DVR is 298. The cetux x kit costs 299 on Amazon. I liked my tinyhawk 3. The goggles actually got better signal than my fatshark scout goggles. The fatshark scout has a way better display though

Good info, now I'm more confused then ever! LoL. I got $600 bucks to spend and I'm a beginner with fpv. Got liftoff sim. Been flying rc for 30 yrs. I know not the same. Is there something better. Thx

Dont stick your vtx antenna out of that hole in the tinyhawk 3. My antenna cover came off in less than a month. No hard crashes.

The website offers two versions of cetus x - betaflight fc and cetus fc. What's the difference?

Betaflight fc does not have altitude hold, while the cetus fc have altitude hold.

I bought the cetus lite fpv kit and its junk, the goggles don't bind with the drone. It will flash for 2 seconds then lose connect. Maybe i just got that one that doesn't work????/
