BetFair up sticks and left Canada in 2015. Broke my heart but I haven’t had a bet since and I’m fucking loaded now 😂

Hi Caan. This is the first time of heard of this premium charge. It really does take the piss. I would have thought 20% was bad enough but 60 is a joke. I’ve been learning and thinking about doing Betfair for the last year or so and this news really has put dampener on the dream

Caan can confirm this about the premium charge, your account has to hit about £250,000 profit over the life time of your account to hit the 60%. But there are lower tiers for 20% and 40%.

It does for many. Although when you reach it, it won't seem so bad... its the upper levels that are.

And don’t forget. You’re only able to clear £5k gross profit before the 20% commission kicks in. BETFAIR exchange is for hobbyist. It’s not a career move. I would suspect that those paying the 60% PC started with BETFAIR in the early days before it was implemented rather than ploughing through the PC tiers that exist today.

With the commercial data use issue, Betfair _used_ to keep the accounts open but place them in a data delay mode. Now it seems they are closing accounts first without this step.

I logged into to see my account was banned. Called up, was told it was because there was log ins from another country. I'd been doing this to live bet as it's banned in Australia. Told her I'd been using a vpn, she said no worries I'll mark your account as using a vpn so it doesn't happen again and gave me my account back!

How long have you been doing this? I've been using BF for 10 yeas plus and have put up with the phoning in all that time. I have read stories online they ban you if discover you are using a VPN.

Try not to get confused between sporting live feed streams (TV pictures) and streaming data (exchange prices). Its the second they don't like.

That is not all the reasons, they close my account and their answers was i begged for bonus in live chat. Is this a reason to do it? This was like 10 years ago and they wont reopen it... can u do anything about it caan? Contact manager or something pls?

Had mine suspended a few years ago on commercial grounds as an automation was triggering way too often and it appeared to just be data harvesting prices. I explained what happened and it got unsuspended fairly quick. The API I was using has changed since then so you can stream prices instead of calls to server so it's less likely to happen that way nowadays thankfully.

"Use of exchange data without placing a bet" - presumably the HS books are excluded from suspension, they continually use the BFEX to identify arbers

There are many different uses for it, but that would be one. I would presume the other companies are paying for the datafeed though.

I'm Nigerian and I created a Betfair account last year, but now I'm unable to access the site. It says that my location is restricted. I checked the list of restricted countries and Nigeria isn't there. Please what is the problem?

Yip had my closed and they have been extremely unhelpful. Moved to Australia/NZ and had to open up a new account due to new ID/Bank details. Then cleaned things up and closed UK account. Months later they said I closed UK account as “self exclusion” which was incorrect and forced closed the overseas account as well. Wife opened one from same IP address and they closed it immediately with the “business decision” email

That's bizzare, and you didnt self exclude? I think the self exclusion thing is on a universal system between all operators so it might not have been from them? just a side thought.

Because being first in line at those prices is an advantage in some instances.

Yes the risk to reward is exceptionally good at these very short prices for layers .. hence they want to get first hit in the match queue. If you have £1000 on the lay side your liability at 1.01 is £10 but your upside is £1000.. you can be wrong 99 times out of 100 and technically break even with just one going your way hence a lot of layers like to feed down there for obvious reasons. Tip.. don’t get involved in backing down there in running particularly on National Hunt tracks on heavy ground with uphill finishes. 😉

Take a look at the 'strategies' playlist on this channel. There was one recently (maybe 2-3 uploads ago). It' a really good one for trading. Also on that playlist there are some advantage play strategies to beat the house.

You should be able to rectify that one. They wont fully delete it for business reasons but you can submit a SAR to find out.

you would need to go through BF Aus (for others reading, Betfair Aus is a seperate company that handles AU and NZ customers) . If you suspect it was for data usage and you were not using for commercial purposes, then they will direct you to the UK to plead your case. If you were closed by BF Aus, it would be for one of the other reasons Caan listed. Hopefully you know why.

This happened to me on the grounds i would leave my account open for lo g periods without placing any bets. Never thought anything of it if trith be told, jyst wasnt arsed clising and opening the thing back up. They didnt like it but after a bit of persuading they relented. Im a bit morecareful now.

If they see 2 linked accounts, they will close 1 of them. They kinda have to as you could be laundering, taking advantage of sportsbook offers or avoiding premium charges.

Duplicate accounts would be closed. Contact BF and ask for an account manager to set up sub-accounts... if you turn over enough money you might get it set up :)

There are multiple contacts, you just have to look for them. There are some on the link shared in the video description, although the helpdesk is pretty poor.

I opened an account for the very first time and got suspended shortly after submitting all the requested ID documents, yet two friends were able to open an account and bet without any prior documentation. They told me I needed to re-send a photo of my banking source, which I did. In fact, I re-sent everything twice. I wrote to them twice and only got an automated response. They never reply. I tried to call the 0844 number from the UK as well as the international number to no avail. It just cuts off. The live Chat does not work. I am at my wits end with this. Any suggestion? I really don't understand why they are suspending me as they wrote that my verification problem could easily be solved.

But you can get your sportsbook closed for winning which in turn also closes your exchange account because it’s the same account.

Both my sportsbook and exchange was closed, I had to set up a new account, a week later closed again, since I’ve messaged them a few times to set up again and they said a manager would message me, never happened. I have nothing against Betfair as it was by far the best site out there, so I have reason to lie, so sorry whoever told you that didn’t tell you the truth, I’ve watched you videos for years about sites closing your accounts for winning, Betfair Is the same.

Can you imagine? ....fortunately, one of the followers that had reported this has been in touch since. Their account has been re-instated and back to normal, so maybe it was some kind of systematic error last week? Would urge anyone it's happened to get back in touch and make sure it's not the same for them.

Hi Caan thought you had had all the mother of all crash and burns there. I must admit I wouldn't be surprised if some of the automated bot accounts were questioned, you said yourself that one guy made £6,000 a week which is counter productive for the betfair community in my opinion. On a lighter note I have been trading for six days now at minimum stakes. I have had 22 winning trades out of 23. I was wondering what you think I should be aiming for as regards an average profit from a successful trade using a beginner stake of £2. My average profit is 36p, how would you rate that. it's done purely on your Betfair accounts profit. so if you are arbing between different operators it doesn't show up as profit on Betfair. although if you mean playing them against each other in order to reduce the Betfair charges there is no simple solution because if you should lose with sky bet for example and win with Betfair then you have to pay premium charges on the profit at Betfair which is in turn your own money from skybet. it's an added risk to take.

So long as you are aware, I think there's a very low chance. From various messages I've had since publishing of this video, quite a few have had their accounts re opened after.

Surely the company owes the customer a direct and obvious reason so the customer can at least represent him or herself reasonably! !! Not a ridiculous answer like "business reasons " where fraud and money laundering are in the mix . It's disgraceful and lacks ethical and moral substance .......coming from a business that avoids tax like a criminal while also receiving government funding

I would agree with this to an extent. There should be a better explanation, although as explained, I can see why it might not happen. They could certainly improve though... I suppose it stops a lot of crazy requests from people that add little value to their business too though. Customers on the internet are a bit crazy sometimes.

And when it comes to fraud or anything like that ........the cops should be notified . Why doesn't Betfair mention the permanent self-exclusion means 'cancellation for life'...it looks dumb to say that but in people's mind, a permanent work contract doesn't make it last 'for life' either.

My account was suspended or blocked, now totally blocked following a legitimate small bet I placed whilst on holiday in the Philippines, this bet actually lost, but on returning they blocked my account and even today in Customer Services live chat they wouldn't say why they closed it, I've never done wrong of any you listed, they will not allow me to reopen it or open a new account for life

are those premium accounts that are charge so much more because of money laundering? Is it illegal money just being cleaned? makes no sense the company charging customers with extra fees and charges when betting on the exchange. must be other reasons for it. Got rid of these bunch of crooks 12 years ago. Won 80 quid only to be told i could not have MY MONEY!. The reason was the 80 quid was bigger than the ten quid i had invested and you can't withdraw a larger amount than what you have invested! I know dozens of other people who suffered this rip off by this bunch of clowns. Do yourself a favour...AVOID AT ALL COST.

Just trust me when i say try to avoid this betting company they have no respect for their customers at all. They give you feeling of trustworthy business but they can freeze your cash easily might even not ever get it back to you i think from what i read, i tried to play as stupidly as i can to test it without logical deposit or withdrawals and easily triggered this, you just dont wanna be keeping your money inside this rathole
