THIS! I nearly spat my drink out hearing that one! "You were just his practice run" was a hitting blow..."your dress may be flashier, but mine will end up on his floor" was a tactile aimed missile, at least to whomever it is the lyrics are talking to. God I need to read this series now just because of that one line.

I just started reading the Fourth Wing so I'm glad there's no spoilers for Iron Flame! Very catchy song! I started reading the series because you introduced me to it with your other two songs based on the Fourth Wing! You make me stoked to read any book you base your songs off of! I just remembered that he taught them both to fight, so when they fought, they knew most of each other’s moves. I didn’t like that she felt insecure and that she had to prove herself. It was pretty clear who Xaden chose - and even then, he would’ve had to gain her trust and attention, not her having to fight his ex for him.

I like to read the books before listening to your songs to really grasp the subleties and "in-the-know" tidbits. That being said, I finally finished Iron Flame and listened to this song today. I didn't immediately get it (I thought maybe it could also refer to her mom at first) - but then I *really* listened to the text and let me tell you the "It's me who makes him lose control" line is just *chef's kiss* Like always a delight, thank you and good day.
