OMG! This Woman Can SANG!! Here’s the original video! • Beth & Joe - I'd Rathe... I do not own the rights to this song. No copyright infringement intended.
@@TurtleRocker12 I love Jeff Beck but Joe is definetly the better blues player his guitar playing in this version is on a par with Beths vocals and that is saying something
David Hanson Breeze Potter? If you meant Grace Potter, you couldn’t be more wrong. I love Grace Potter her cover of I’d Rather Go Blind can’t hold a candle to Etta’s or Beth’s.
The first time I saw this performance I realized that Janis Joplin has been reincarnated in Beth Hart. She was born only a few months after Janis passed and has her spirit, voice, mannerisms and ability. I about fell off my chair in realization that I may never see a better performance anywhere at any time than this one. And somewhere Janis and Etta James simply held hands and smiled. My reaction was about the same as yours, Jamel. Thank you for letting the goosebumps rise one more time.
@@Chris-wp3ew Yeah he was a child prodigy. Great performer if you ever get a chance to see him live. Humble too. Met him in the lobby of the Webster Theater in CT. My mom asked him to play A new Day Yesterday because she knows I ma a big Tull fan and he did. Killed it.
@@CARNELIANTURQUOISE You misunderstood. He's saying Joe's guitars are 5 and 6 figure price guitars. He has a huge collection of pre-CBS Fender's and 50s-60s Gibsons. But he doesn't leave them locked away, he takes them on the road and burns the house down with them.
Glad you decided to jump into the Beth Hart pool... try not to drown mate :) You MUST start the rest of your journey with Am I The One (Live at Paradiso). You can't really appreciate where Beth is now without seeing her earlier masterwork. She's been playing this since the Star Search days. Beth says she made a spectacle of herself in the early days because of her bi-polar insecurity. This is hard to watch because the manic personality is RIGHT there but it is necessary to understand where she is coming from. These days, her medication is dialed in and her performances, while great are missing the CRAZY that oozes out of every frame of this video @ A Change Is Gonna Come - Now that you have a little of Beth's background you know how personal this song is to her. You know you have the vocal chops when you sound this good on someone's cell phone. All the feels! @ Baddest Blues - An ode to Billy Holiday and her Mother. Plenty of great concert performances but the acoustic version always gets me @ Leave the Light On - After Beth's complete breakdown in her late 20s she wasn't sure she could or should try to make music again. This was the first song she wrote on her way back. It hurts to watch her perform this as she bares her soul. There are many outstanding performances. Heres's one of my faves @ Tell Her You Belong To Me - My wife's favorite Beth Hart song. I went years not knowing this was about her father. Written to the woman her father married after divorcing Beth's Mom. She didn't have a relationship with her father again for nearly 20 years. There are tons of great concert performances of this song but the acoustic suits this intimate heartbreak. Goosebumps! @ Caught Out In The Rain - About being in a relationship with someone you know is T-R-O-U-B-L-E but you just can't help yourself. Video proper starts at the @ mark @ Honorable mentions: Sister Heroine, Love Is A Lie and Your Heart Is Black As Night It's always really cool to see Beth perform with Joe Bonamassa (they have released 3 albums together) but Beth REALLY deserves to have the spotlight shone on her as a solo performer. Just my two cents...
I've said this before but I do enjoy the way that you respectfully let the song play out, and how you share your thoughts once in awhile with a little cartoon strip thing above your head, super cool and sometimes funny. I think that ever since SRV'S untimely death there has not really been a blues guitarist who could play at his level, Joe is astounding and even though he uses thinner strings he plays at such a high level. I tend to feel he is the best all around blues guitarist today, and Beth has that gritty Whiskey Drinking and cigarette smoking voice. You would be hard-pressed to find a front woman and a lead guitarist doing the Blues as well as these two, I don't want to leave out how fantastic the Rhythm Section is♡
Joe definitely is one, if not the best rock & blues guitarist today. Playing with his own band and with two other bands and numerous side projects. I do not know how he does it all, All of the time. And Beth's voice is as good as it gets for me when it comes to female singers.
Beth Hart has a gift from heaven.....there is singing and then there is feeling it...she has it all in one package.....you can feel the pain and the hurt oozing from her voice.....that is a rare ability.....combine that with the mastery of the guitar from Bonamassa and you have a dynamite duo....They need to do more tours together......they have killer performances. You feel drained after watching these.......that is the impact they have on you. She disappered for a while battling addiction......she has conquered it and is back better than ever......she is a rare performer.....glad she is back.
Her music/breath has saved so many souls ready to give in or give up. This woman has seen Her share of trials, just to rise from the ashes like a Pheniox.
I like watching reaction vids. I like watching young people react to the music I grew up with and have enjoyed for so many years. It brings me great pleasure to watch someone listen to an "old school"performer for the first time. It is so cool. And yes, dirt is only two years older than me.
“Thank God for good music.” Amen to that! Music can make everyday the best damn day! It brings all of us together in a way that we have a true bond. “This is my spirit talking.” I adore your spirit! It’s the best part of you! ❤️ Your reaction to these two is how all of us feel! Goosebumps! You’re right! Wouldn’t it be incredible to see them live? I can only imagine!
So true! I've seen her in concert 3 time's and OMG! I f'ng cry each time! Goosebumps, DEFINITELY! WELL WORTH SEEING LIVE OMG, A MUST SEE SHE NEVER DISAPPOINTS! First time here and so happy this gentleman is moved as we all we're day 1!!! Blessings
Thank you for not interrupting this song for your comments. I have watched this video a few times, and it still gives me chills each time. Outstanding performances.
Right there with you ... her voice and his playing are magic. i had the pleasure of seeing her and her band live. OMG is an understatement.. I could listen all day myself :)
I just watched this for the first time on June 25th! I checked my Facebook page for the day I shared it. He seems to always have a big band and a great sound. What I have watched so far.
You hear THAT voice and it takes youre breath away you think what can possibly match that Then you hear that bluesy masterful guitar solo Its breathtaking These 2 are the bees knees m blowin away Just doesnt get any better
I've been waiting for you to get to this point. Glad to see you made it to Joe & Beth! Joe took Beth on once she had been in recovery for a while. Beth has had severe bipolar since childhood. From a broken home, she started self-medicating with drugs and alcohol. Said she was ashamed to have anyone know she was "nuts". Beth won Star Search in 1993. She did three albums for Atlantic Records and then they cut her loose because of her extreme behaviors. Beth was committed for a while. She has been clean for some time now. THAT'S why no one really knows that much about her. I wish her the VERY best. Her exceptional voice is probably even better as she knows what pain is ... because she's been there. SUGGESTIONS: "Mama" live at the Paradiso (which she also wrote) and "A Change is Gonna Come" live at the Echoplex.
Amazing performance from a top notch band Singers bluesy as hell guitarist comes from the same place drummer comes from everywhere and we just sit back and enjoy
Joe Bonamassa playing Guitar since he was a kid....opened for BB King when he was a young teenager....I got to see him a couple of years ago in Houston....He was on My Bucket List to see because I am getting old.....I was not disappointed put on an awesome show....
Joe is, by far, my favorite musician. He is in with Glen Hughes of Deep Purple in a band ... Black Country Reunion. Also key up Jo with Jimmy Barnes. And Rock Candy Funk Party.
The most underrated singer around and Joe is so underrated as a guitarist. There are no singers like Beth today with such a powerful soulful voice. Beth and Joe do a great version of Tina Turners Nutbush too, well worth a listen
wow Jamel. I have always loved Joe Bonamassa's guitar playing (he sings good too). But with Beth Hart and him together, it is SO good! .Ty for reacting to them. Another singer that i have rediscovered ( she may not sing your type of music), is Jesse J. Please try to catch her singing "Purple Rain" and a host of other classics.
You SO GET IT! Thank you for your reaction. It was a pleasure to watch you have an "experience." These two ooze soul and a passion for their craft. I hope Beth and Joe see your reaction!
I read somewhere that "her voice is like burnt honey". You're correct when you say she feels the music and it translates out through her whole being. Love, love, love this no matter how many times I watch it.
Appreciate you J ... thanks to all a y'all for the incredible music for folks to be inspired by .....Blues Soul Jazz ...Funk man there is nothing else...
Beth Hart and Janis Joplin are my Two favorite singers of all time. And Joe really did that 52 Tele justice. You could here it "Finally someone who knows what to do with me."
This music collaboration between Beth and Joe was meant to be because God needed us to hear them perform together. They are a perfect match. Individually they are outstanding. Together they are incredible.
It makes me so happy when I can see a person experience Beth Hart for the first time ❤️ if you want to watch her at her most uninhibited and passionate, react to her live performance of the song “Am I The One” live at Paradiso. It’s incredible and raw, I think you would LOVE it!!!
Just wanted to let you know that I love your reactions! You dont talk too much before playing the song, you don't talk during the song and your reactions are so honest! Everyone here seems to have the same taste in music!! I'm requesting Good Enough by Evanescence and also Immortal by Evanescence. Also Home by Marc Broussard. Love what you do!!❤
Thank you for your honest reaction! Joe Bonamassa is one of the Best blues guitarists you've never heard of! They have collaborated on several albums. Beth Hart has such an emotional impact on you with her wonderful bluesy voice ~ brings her life experiences to the stage!
she is completely raw soul exactly how she is none of the other crap that other people fit in that somebody else's she her she is 100% unique there's nobody like her!
I get chills every time I hear her. Joe can sing also. …. ( Joe Bonamassa - Happier Times LIVE at Royal Albert Hall ) Thanks for doing these reactions. Glad I found your channel
Omg I love Beth Hart!!!" Caught out in the rain" is one of my top fav songs. She just gets me through some tough times. Really touches my soul in every aspect. Hope you can react to it soon! You will not be disappointed 😁😀
If you like Beth you need to check out this band. Trust me on this my friend. Tedeschi Trucks Band. Lead singer is married to the guitarist whonhas been named a guitar virtuoso and let me just tell you he is a beast when he has a slide on his magical fingers. Check out live from crossroads festival Tedeschi Trucks Band "Midnight In Harlem" and I will be anxiously awaiting those stank faces!
she does that thing that only the greatest singers can do: lives the song. they're not just words to be repeated on pitch, they're a story, they're pain, the hope, they're love, they're everything that it's possible top feel and those singers who understand that and let the character of the song inhabit them transcend the notion of music and touch the soul.
They are both amazing in their solo careers, but together??? Magnificent. Meant to be. I hope you check out more of their music. There is quite a bit and you won't regret it. Much love💚
Awesome video and input! Now let Joe blow your mind vocally and acoustically! Please consider doing a reaction video for this song featuring "only Joe and a Beautiful young lady that's killing it with a Cello!!! ~ (Joe Bonamassa & Tina Guo - "Woke Up Dreaming" - Live From Carnegie Hall: An Acoustic Evening)! Enjoy!
