I really believe that new shows on Broadway (and some revivals) represent the social climate of the time... so being on stage when the Supreme Court ruling came out must have been very special.

Literally all of them are so so sweet I saw fun home this summer with my cousin and met the whole cast and every single person was so thankful and amazing honestly. And Sydney is the cutest human ever alive as well. Such a pure heart it's beautiful.

I always have slightly mixed feelings about the asexuality line being in the show because 1. I’m totally ok with it in context because that’s just one person’s experience and I’m guessing a lot of people can relate to being in denial or having to try different labels before finding the right one, 2. Just hearing the word ‘asexual’ is still more than any other musical I’ve seen has done, and I appreciate that it introduces the concept to more people who may not have heard the word and be like “oh, that’s a thing” and go away and research it, but also 3. There’s always going to be people who DON’T research it and only hear it in context and think “oh, that’s a thing?” and then a moment later when we get confirmation of how utterly gay and not-asexual Alison is they’ll probably think “oh ok never mind, it’s just a thing people say when they’re denial about being gay” However hearing that bit of the interview made me happy because if this show has made even one kid (or adult) ask “what is asexual?” that’s definitely a good thing 💜 Also I know my whole comment has been about this one really specific thing but just to address more of the video in general- I’m only a few minutes in and I’ve already nearly cried and squeaked weirdly from the cuteness and ahhh this show is so important and I love it so much ❤️❤️❤️
