Sorry Fredrik, Bethenny is right on this. So many people can't even tell the difference unless it's a trained eye. You're trying to flip; not design for yourself.
As a person who has renovated a large, expensive house and used a fair bit of marble and quartzite (marble-like), i wish i knew that marble-looking porcelain was an option. Marble is SO HARD to maintain. Everything acidic etches into it, it scratches like butter, and it stains. And it’s porous to water, so i need to pay to have it sealed EVERY YEAR just to protect the walls and cabinets it sits on. And i spilled white wine on my marble floor, cleaned it up with it 30 seconds, but the damage was so severe (went from shiny to dull) every place the wine splashed, that i had to pay $1000 to have it polished again.
Sada De Vries I got a sample piece of marble and tested it out. When I realized I could EASILY write on it with any hard-ish object I opted for quartzite, which is harder but still stains/etches pretty badly. If I had known porcelain was a viable option I would have picked it.
