I love watching these older interviews because you can sense the zeitgeist or mentality of how society was seeing things, or evolving on social issues, pop culture, political whatever it was of the time. Its fascinating to compare it to today and how far or how cemented things have changed or sometimes stayed the same. That question Dick asked them, about, as then older actresses, of they were younger or new better then,how pursuing careers, getting married and having families would have changed. It was so interesting. Their responses are so definitive of who they are at that moment and how evolved, with the new times, as far of time set of this interview, being the 70s. The question about sex life within only acceptable publicly, within the bounds of marriage in their time being the acceptable, respectable norm, but how for young actresses of the generations after them, in the 70s is no longer an issue as much because of the more socially free way of living for women. And i find it interesting, because now for almost 4 generations later, this concept has evolved even more and part of most every woman life. Free to work, have families do whatever we want without the same amount of stigma and judgments as we keep going. Yet still within all of these generations, women had to still endure in one way or another, that kind of dilemma and judgment, till today with less intensity of course.
