Such a beautiful, heartwarming, sad but hopeful movie! Bette Davis is at her best and Ernest Harden Jr melts your heart. Two lost souls find each other.
Beautiful movie, reminds me of how sweet, kind and strong my Grandmother was despite all the chaos going on around her, myself included, may she rest in peace....
Thank you so much for posting this movie! I've loved it since it first aired and no one has it. Bette Davis and Earnest Harden Jr were both superb in it and played off each other well and so convincingly you can see the bond begrudgingly growing between them despite their best efforts to keep those walls up. The social issues addressed are important but the human story caused by them for both parties is just so well portrayed by the two.
BDE thank you so much for posting this movie to RU-vid. It's quite collectible now, out of print, and expensive to buy if you can even find a copy. Truly one of Bette Davis' best performances not only from her later period, but of her career. How much better would all our lives be if we could truly love one another and help each other through life. Thanks again for posting this movie.
Wow This turned out to be a really good movie to watch. I had a fit when Bette Davis came home to nothing but an empty place and when she was homeless. I'm sorry, it was humorous that he kept calling her white mama & I think Jamie Foxx would have been excellent in a skit of this on In Living Color back in the day. Thumbs up to Miss Davis & the young man who fooled the viewers and took care of his mama. Very good...well done.
