Brian Herrington -A prequel is just a sequel set in the past. And it does have Flash-forwards in the form of black and white sequences at the beginning of each season, so it could be a prequel-sequel, similar to The Godfather Part II.
Howards an interesting character. I kind of pegged him as douche suit, but at the end when he basically throws his savings at retiring chuck to save the company it struck me that theres something else going on i had missed. like, he hasnt ACTUALLY done anything particularly wrong to win the "douche" label in the whole show except perhaps undervalue kim and be overly loyal to chuck. But isnt that what friends do?

Much of the time, Chuck was basically holding HHM hostage with the threat of walking away, taking his share and his clients and tanking the firm. Howard was so loyal to Chuck for that reason more than anything else, in my opinion.
Shayne O'Neill We’ve been trained to hate wealthy looking, well educated white men. I grew up in the 80s - and Andrew McCarthy type character was the anomaly, but James Spader characters were the norm.
Well, at the beginning, the character has that smugness that makes him pretty unsympathetic, no matter what he does (unless they made him save kittens on episode 1x1, for example...). But yes, that doesn't make him bad. And that's the thing that makes the show so good, that makes it feel so authentic. In real life, the most unsympathetic people aren't necessarily the worst people. Some murderers look pretty likable.

I’ve noticed in these panels and interviews that these actors are so involved in the story lines, not only their own, but everybody’s. They all take over the interview in discussion about the show, all having opinions about it that relate very much to fans opinions. They don’t even need questions. It’s just great to see actors who truly care about the show. Bob specifically really expresses that with his opinions on Jimmy turning to Saul.
I'm glad the interviewer said what he said at the end, because I was thinking the same thing. Like... Jesus, they're, like, reaaaally into it. And they're smart people, which is not always the case with actors. That was pretty thrilling to watch.
I love this interview merely because of the cast’s discussion, they were sort of interviewing each other. Brilliant cast. Giancarlo’s perspectives are on point and it is fun listening to him, Bob, and everyone else. Thanks :)

One of the only cast interviews on YT I've watched the whole upload of. Really interesting bunch of actors who love the great show they are all a part of. Fascinating characters in one of the best TV shows ever. I cannot wait for series four.
I absolutely love how cheerful the cast always is. They give very insightful input, along with being able to joke around as well which just shows how much they truly do enjoy talking about it. the SDCC BCS S4 panel was probably the best panel I've seen in a long time, and this interview was great as well! *edit* I would also love to hear more about Gus' past.
Rhea Seehorn looks better every time I see her! Last season we see her in BCS?? Giancarlo Esposito could just as easily have gotten his own spinoff from BB No Jonathan Banks? Michael really is a student of the craft...think we will be seeing a lot of him for years to come.
DimebagVision That's how I saw him in single and cast post-BB interviews. Then, seeing him in BCS interviews, he seemed warmer and more comfortable. JMO.
Rhea Seehorn is a babe. We don't see her character Kim in BB so I hope she gets a really good job instead of the usual way they get "rid of" characters in BCS.
kirk gauthier Jimmy will have to make a sacrifice that she can’t forgive him for. Jimmy will do something that will destroy their relationship. Once Kim is gone Jimmy has no one. He becomes Saul
POV youre in the middle of season 3, loving the show, want to see an interview but don't want to spoil yourself, you promise yourself you'll just watch a minute and leave you just need to see them out of character "CHUCK'S DEAD!!!"

I don't think that the audience hated Chuck. I think they saw in Chuck a family member we all know. Especially, that sanctimonious big brother who is obsessed with pleasing the parents and belittleling the siblings.
Mmm... I kind of hated him. Despite his illness, he was petty and generally a bad person. He had good characteristics but they were outweighed by his bad ones.
Great interview and insight into the actors who play the parts, they all seem really down to earth, loved Breaking Bad and now on Season 5 of Better Call Saul. Fring is my favourite villain of all time, such a believable character, bravo to you all 👏🏼
Binging the first 3 seasons now and am reminded in each episode how much better this show is than any other currently on TV and, possibly, than all or most others in the past. Such great writing. Such great acting. An amazing show.
The writing and casting was so good on Breaking Bad, I would be thrilled if it had been a Saul spin-off, a Gus spin-off, a Nacho spin-off or a Mike spin-off. Any one of these would be strong enough to hold a show down, in my opinion. The list of shows I would say something similar about...that I'd love four of the main characters as spin-off subjects, even by the end of the show? Come on. It's just so good.
At about the 10:00 mark, Bob says what I too was thinking. "I want to know about Gus and what happened to him to make him so cold." To Vince and Peter, I think there's your 3rd spinoff of this wonderful series you have created. "The World According to Gus." We go back in time to watch the creation of Gus Fring. Fans of the series would eat it up! What a GREAT interview! Thanks for sharing and God, I just love the writers and that cast. They are all tremendous actors! Bravo!
Am I the only one who sees the irony in the last name "Fring." ...as in a fast-food order of mixed fries & rings? So... a good flashback (or spinoff) showing his actual background and real name?
If you think that he is from Chile, he was in the military and given his age, you could imagine that he was part of the military regime of Pinochet (torture etc), so he could have fleed thereafter. From the childhood story he tells Hector in episode 6, though, it seems that his sadistic side was developed from a young age.
MyFlightTV I don’t think of him as cold at all. He’s just incredibly pragmatic. He gives people chance after chance and he’s genuinely concerned about his employees at the restaurant for example. I don’t think he’s cold at all, just divorced emotionally from parts of what he has chosen to do

i wish jonathon banks was on this, his entire character change through season 4 is one of my favorites. him going from trying to be nice and hospitable to finally having to kill the dude even though he knows his wife will be hurt is heartbreaking

300tank I’m picturing something more serious and gangster for that show like The Godfather. Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul have a similar dark comedic tone to them because the two main actors started out in comedy, but I don’t see how that same style of tone would translate over to a Gus centric show. The tone shifts when we get to Gus storyline, imagine an entire series where that tone was the central focus.
Gus, as I’ve said, came from the Pinochet regime and was head of the secret police, or his personal security. And that keeps his focus on hiding in plain sight. Which is Gus . That’s what he does. That’s what he’s good at. Not the face of power, it’s the power behind the scenes that keeps him even more dangerous, but also safer. Great actor Giancarlo is.
