Great video, it helps a lot to discover or remind me of these harmonic possibilities. My aim is to learn to play by improvising, I'm still a novice but I love to experiment with musical notes. Progression is slow but it's there, I'm not in a hurry anyway, retired, so time is on my side. 😄
Edu-tainment! excellent. i've heard it said that youtube teachers are at best popularizers, but i'm hoping we're also getting some decent info out there. thanks so much.
@@ImpliedMusic I believe in making the woodshed time fun and purpose-full! I am enjoying all of your vids. I recently happened on you channel. My background is jazz guitar so I'm really enjoying the journey to jazz piano. Your vids are a great help!
Very informative, thank you! I would love to see a video with an exercise on how to practice playing 2/3 polyrhythm arpeggios. I love the sound of it. I can play 2/3 as block chords, but it all falls apart when I try to play the 2/3 polyrhythm as arpeggios. I don’t know where to start practicing.
brilliant video. Where did you talk about the "slide modulation" ? I must have missed that video. I don't see it in your Videos page. I am fascinated by modulation and I've not heard of this one.
yeah, good call. it's been an ongoing topic... thinking back, i may talk quite a bit about it in the common tone modulation video. it's a staple trick of Neo-Riemannian theory.
thanks man... i think there's a book or video course in here somewhere. honestly, i'm still getting my feet under me as i discover what's important to my subscribers and what i'm most interested in presenting. this is a learning process for me!
