Thanks for getting this out for people to donate. I can't imagine how lost everyone is on Maui. I hope you are wrong about the numbers of casualties, but I fear you are right. So many people have yet to be found and reconnected to their families. Thanks Misty.
Thank you for getting out points of contact, info, and advising on types of donations that are needed for Maui. Being wary of scams is important too. I got a scam call saying the person calling was from FEMA. Praying for and supporting those affected by the fires is needed so much. My mom said her heart is breaking from seeing all her memories burn. But she also told me of how she got in contact with a cousin who lives there and how complete strangers opened their home to him. We can rebuild and make new memories. I told her, her heart can heal. I hope that for so many others 🙏♥️😌🤝!
We've been sending out to a friend and also through the mission. This vlog is truly needed at this time thank you. The food as always looked really fantastic 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Hi sista, super sad about Lahaina. Debbie's family is ok, they live in Haiku & Kula. Family 100 yr old church was destroyed. Waiola church, where Debbie's Grandfather preached. I appreciate what you are doing to help by putting the word out. God bless you and love your channel.
Omg I’ve been thinking about you and others safety in Hawaii 🙏🏼😞 it’s devastating to see it all over the news here in Australia. I’m glad you are safe and your friends are also. God bless them all I cried when I saw the footage 😢
Good perspective, comparing Lahaina to Kailua. Never been to Maui. I know Kailua. Thanks for listing the legit donation sites. I just found new socks, etc.
My prayers for the people of Maui! Lord, hear our prayers! ❤️✝️🙏🏻 I know they appreciate your support Misty. Prayers for you and your friend that are working on this project, may you be truly blessed! ❤️✝️🙏🏻🩷 Thank you for another delicious video! 😋😋😋
Hi Misty, is yummies too americanized or is it the quality , price or all the above? I'm wondering as I've liked it but would prefer to support local families when we come to visit Neal's folks. ❤
My mom worked at the very first Yummys in Koko Marina. It's not there anymore. They made the marinade from scratch. After their popularity exploded in the early 90s they now use pre packaged meat in a pre packaged sauce. Probably for consistency and ease for the workers. But yeah not my jam. Too sweet.
thank u for your notice on the maui donation dropoff i will see if i can get some things to the pc dropoff i love the original dong yang meat jun havnt gone with the new owner will try this restaurant to get my meat jun fix
Maui , it’s devastating , it’s on the news here. The speed that fire can travel with wind is like lightning. We had fires here in 2019 we know what they are going through. Keep up the good work. Mahalo 🤙
Big mahalos for reviewing Seoul Food in Wahiawa! Wahiawa has quite a few hidden gem eateries! And of course for mentioning donations to Lahaina. #mauistrong
Have been watching numerous newscasts covering Maui fires. Heart/prayers go out Maui. Heard that meat jun is Uniquely Hawaiian-Korean concoction, not featured on mainland U.S. Korean menus. Back in 1980/90s, me/friends used to do Dong Yang's, at least, 2x/ week. When mgmt changed over, not so much. Seoul Food has been opened 4-6 weeks or so. Agree about $$$$...but for amount of food that you get, it's Worth It!....Maui...Onipa'a!
Wow, didn't know about this place. I'm also Korean & I've eaten at many places in the 808. I like good sides & I think the best fast food Korean sides are at "I Love Korean BBQ" (Kamakana Alii food court). Really good kimchee among other choices.
Thank you for the Lahaina info! My fav meat Jun is from -->Soons Kalbi in Salt Lake I have been eating it for 40 years. The Soon's bento or Soon's special is the best with a BBQ Cheeseburger. Mahalo!
Made donation at the PC Store....Thanks for the Info!!! Oh! I also wanted you Check out this true hole in the in Kalihi Sand Island Access Rd. TATSUO's run by a husband & wife team they are on Yelp...Really Old School Lunch house with ONO food...They also had a Lunch Wagons but can't find workers so it's only the lunch house behind American Carpet Co. I'm sure your blog will really help them out....Mahalo Ed
Mahalo Ed for your donation!!! I already did Tatsuo's a couple years ago and she was great and let me interview her. It is in the Underrated Kalihi Restaurants video. Mahalo for watching! 🤙🤙
My sister-in-law's from Japan. She also works in the kitchen of a Bento restaurant in Leeward, Oahu. She tells us the "Japanese" food in Hawaii is NOT Japanese "flavor". Too "SWEET" ! Also heard that from friends from Hong Kong who currently lives in San Francisco: Too SWEET !!! But to stay in business... businesses must cater to the region's palate. DougK
Misty we have alot of family on Maui ! Our family is helping & they will be cooking hot foods for the people ! Mahalo as we all do our best to help Lahaina Maui Ohana !
I'm the same, I can't stand sweet meat jun. My fave Korean place is Cho Dang in Waipahu. I always get the Seafood Jun and fried zucchini and I love their Bibimbap because it's served in a stone bowl so it crisps up the bottom rice nicely and I always enjoy their banchan.
Oh my goodness! Mahalo so much Samantha! I don't need it. But what I will do is Venmo it to Hoku who is the liason who went to Waimanalo, Mililani and Pearl City to pick up all the items more than once. I'm sure she needs the gas!
That's good to know. When we went a while ago the waitress told us there were no Korean people in the kitchen and they were already on their 3rd owner who wasn't Korean either. Something about they were from Okinawa. Maybe another person bought it out again.
I was so bummed, when we were there it was a Tuesday in March, and they were closed! Glad to see your review. The goodwill store is a legit thrift store.
@@daiiahi3403 Yep. The last time we went to Dong Yang the waitress admitted there is not one Korean person in the kitchen. The banchan was terrible. The soup is not Korean either and tasted like salt water. She also said that they are on their 3rd owner who is from Okinawa.
